Thanks for the speedy reply. Almost 15 years ago, before the pump, I worked out 4 days a week and lost 65 pounds. I felt fantastic and was almost down to a 34 slack. It was then when my endochronologist put me on insulin. My A1C just kept climbing. After doing insulin via multiple daily injections I decided on going on the pump. It have spoken with my doctor yesterday. he truly thinks that if I stay on the pump, my basal dosage alone will maintain my blood glucose level with a bolus. the only carbs I will be injesting will be from vegetables and fruit that I eat. Let's keep our fingers crossed and maybe, just maybe I can get off the pump entirely.

I have my last doctor and nutritionist visit on the 7th of May then they will submit, It is supposed to take 5 to 7 business days to get approved then I can get scheduled. My doctor told me it should be end of May or no later than early June. Wish me luck.

I am a type II insulin requiring diabetic and I will be having surgery at the end of May or early June. Are there any insulin pumpers out there that can give me some advise as to how to control my blood sugar after surgery and eating so little food. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Mark, Edmond Ok

I have a Nutri Bullet and I love it. I use it every day. It has two smaller cups that can be used also to puree foods and they have lids that screw on so it will travel well and not spill. Just another idea.

I was told as part of my "equipment" I would need for getting ready for surgery was a pill crusher. My question is?
What should I use to mask the aweful taste of most medications? I have heard yogurt but what about honey? Any answers to this topic would be greatly appreciated. And I hope this is in the correct forum.

Can you just use an immersion blender? Or do you really need to strain it?
That is a good question. I have a nutribullet that I use daily. It completely destroys anything in the cup including nuts, flax see apple peels the works. I use it with the unflavored powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein powder and it tastes wonderful. So I would like to know if you think that the Nutribullet would work instead of straining.
Thanks Mark, Edmond Ok Pre surgery
