    8 1/2 months! :)

    You look fantastic, congrats.
  9. You need to talk to your nutritionist and see if your calorie intake is correct. Regardless of which tool you have decided to use in this case the sleeve, you should be getting excellent results. I have lost almost 200 pounds in a little over 11 months. That is an exceptional amount of weight and I am not telling you this to upset you. I am telling you that you can have excellent results with the sleeve. May I suggest that you religiously log any food that is going into your pouch on a daily basis. As well as any exercise (if any) that you are pursuing. Frankly I have been in too bad a health to exercise so all of my weight loss has been through diet alone. I would suggest that you use a computer program called My Fitness Pal. It allows you to keep track of all of you food and exercise and you can print out reports to take to your nutritionist, or in my case I gave her my user name and password and she can review my food intake and make comments as to what I need to add or delete from my diet to maintain my weight. Good luck and don't give up. You will succeed.

    Dizziness

I have to take midorine in order to keep my bp up. It started dropping a few months after surgery and continued to get worse. I also think that I was so severely out of shape from being so overweight that I have a tremendous metabolic changeover to take place.

Looks like you had a 360 right?
  14. I always weigh myself once a week not that I'm being obsessive about my weight loss journey but I feel it is important as you get to and pass your goal that you stay in focus with your progress. I never thought I would lose almost 200 pounds. Starting at 387 and now weighing 200 is in my opinion a miracle. I am forever thankful to my wife and healthcare professionals for their support in my weight loss success. I wonder just how far this weight loss journey will continue. But I am super glad I lost it and feel so well. Mark, Edmond Oklahoma

Same to JLynn. Looks like you are on your way to the same success. I wish you the best and please keep us posted on your journey. Mark
  17. Climbed on the scales this morning and hit 202. That's down 185 pounds since I started my weight loss journey. I am amazed that I have this much weight. My bariatric nurse emailed me yesterday and wanted me to be on a panel for future bariatric patients to ask me questions about my success. I am so happy and feel so great. I wish everyone on the board to success in their journeys. Mark, Edmond Ok

    July sleevers please check in..

Hello Mark from Edmond Oklahoma here. I am almost 11 months out now. My highest weight was 387 pounds, my weight the day of surgery was 341 pounds. I weight myself weekly (on Monday) and I weighed in this week at 204 pounds that's a little over 185 pounds total. I have not yet began an exercise regime due to concerns with my Cardiologist. I had a heart condition prior to surgery and even though my heart functions are doing very well, I still have problems with low blood pressure. I failed a stress test due to extremely low blood pressure and had several instances when I passed out. Not fun. I no longer have diabetes symptoms, I used to be on an insulin pump for years and now I no longer take any insulin or oral diabetic medications. No more cholesterol medications either. Of course I no longer have high blood pressure either. I start physical therapy next week with a guy who worked with me when I had a back fusion in 2009. He is going to help me get conditioned physically so hopefully I can start exercising soon. All in all, I am extremely happy with my results and I am very optimistic with my future. I try as often as I can to help other bariatric patients with their concerns and progress and look forward to going to support group on a regular basis. This surgery saved my life. I will be eternally grateful to the doctors, nurses support staff and all of the bariatric patients have met in these 11 months. Mark Thomas, Edmond Oklahoma

    diet pepsi lovers?

Pop sugared or not is just not good for anyone. It triggers obesity even with diet drinks not to mention the fact that the low calorie sweetners are really bad. If you look into this you will find that pop is a big no no. In fact it is one of the 10 things that are recommended that your should never consume. I have seen this time and again. I weaned myself off diet drinks when I first started my weight loss journey and I will never consume it again.

    Coffee

My PCP told me about the fact that I had to drink extra water to make up for a large coffee I was drinking when I went to see her. Later, I checked out the myth about coffee being a dieuretic. According to the Mayo clinic and Web MD, If you keep your caffine intake to no more than two cups a day, the water used in making the coffee will still add to the required amount of water that we all need to stay hydrated. Don't get me wrong when the dietician told me to cut out the coffee pre surgery I did, and for almost a year I restricted my coffee intake but I don't think post surgery you need to worry too much about caffine. Just my opinion mind you after checking some medical resource of course.

    11 Months out 185 down

That away girl. I know that you will make your goal. You look beautiful by the way
  23. Hi Mark, you look fantastic, I also have lost a ton of weight 185 pounds. I have a lot of excess skin in the belly area. Did your exercise routine help to eliminate yours? You waist looks nice and thin. Thanks, Mark Thomas, Edmond Oklahoma
  24. I am 11 months out and I have lost 185 pounds. I went from 387 pounds down to 205 pounds. I am thrilled with my success but I am still only eating anywhere from 700 to 1100 calories a day. That is three meals, a mid morning and mid afternoon snack and a bedtime snack. I always get in my Protein at about 85 to 87 grams. I drink all the Water at least 8 glasses a day. So according to my fitness pal, If I keep this up I will weigh 187 pounds. I don't want to weigh 187 but for the life of me I don't know what to do to stop losing weight. I passed my goal weight of 225 a long time ago and though I do not want to gain any weight I just think it is time for me to maintain. Does anyone out there have this situation and what are your suggestions. Mark, Edmond Ok
