  1. I did liquids for 2 days - that's it. Thank goodness. After I had the surgery - I didn't want to mess anything up and I had to do 2 weeks clear liquids and 2 weeks full liquids but b/c I was forced after the surgery to do it , I did it. But I don't know if I could have done it 2 weeks before the surgery. I am so glad I had a surgeon that just said 2 days before and that's it! So be happy and good luck!

Ending my Love Affair with food

Hi Abby Just want to say I can totally relate. I am a year out of surgery and down 60 lbs but I have always compared the food addiction to a drug addiction and how much harder it is b/c you have to eat. You dont need drugs to live. Anyway I knew what I had to do but in some ways I was scared or not sure about doing without the food that I grown used to having. But you get so fed up that you say "whatever - I have to do this' That is what I did and I am glad that I did. Even now, sometimes I mourn that I can't go get whatever food I want and wolf it down, but it keeps me from getting it b/c i know that I can't eat but a small amount and with really small bites (especially with this last fill that finally gave me really good restriction). I know that's what I need even though sometimes I just have that craving to eat and eat. But its good and worth it and I wish you the best of luck!!!!!
  3. Hi I had a small hiatal hernia and my doc stitched it up and repaired while he was in there doing the surgery. Prior to the surgery I had bad heartburn and reflux and he said that was a main cause. With the hernia fixed and the lapband surgery I dont experience that anymore. My doc had said if it was a big hernia, he wouldn't do the lap band and I would have had to have gastric bypass. So I was glad that it was small and it got fixed.

    Am I too tight?

Hi All I have been banded for a year and just got another fill about 5 days ago. I am now at 3 cc's in a 4 cc band. I have not had this good of restriction and feel like I finally am feeling truly what I should be. It's great however I do feel just the slightest start of heartburn sometimes after I eat. It doesn't ever turn into full blown heart burn and after an hour I am fine. I am reluctant to get any taken out b/c I really like this amount of restriction. I have lost 60 lbs over the last year but really was able to eat fairly normally. I feel like now I will eat less and keep the weight loss going. (For the last 6 months I have only lost about 8-10lbs). Does anyone think this is a big deal? It doesn't bother me too much as it is slight and like I said before it doesn't turn into full blown heartburn. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts. Banded 2/12/07 - 260 lbs Current weight - 200 lbs

    Newbie from Michigan

Hello, I just joined! I had my lap band 3 months ago here in Pensacola ,FL. I just had my second fill and am hoping that I get some restriction so I can get this weight to come off. I have enjoyed reading everyone else's experience. It is so nice to have people to relate to with a situation like this and to hear their tips. I look forward to being a part of these forums.

    confused about restriction

Hi, I was banded Feb 12, 07 and I just had my second fill yesterday. Right now it feels pretty tight, but it did after my first fill but then after a few days I didn't feel that much restriction. So I am afraid that after a couple of days, I won't feel a whole lot of restriction. I can relate to a lot of posts that I have read about still being able to eat a lot, I have been surprised by that. Anyway what is this sweet spot that people keep referencing? How do I know when I have found it? My second fill put me at 2.3 cc in a 4cc band. Thanks for any help.
