Arts137 got a reaction from No game in food funerals
Well everyone is different! I'm going to present a different take on it. It ain't a food funeral. All your (well, mostly all) of your 'food friends' will be available to you much later, so what are you burying? I've kinda decided that the point here for me is to learn a new relationship with food, so that's what I'm Trying to do. My Optifast starts Sunday, but I've certainly been trying to focus on Proteins, and Meal Replacement shakes for the last two/three weeks. Also, this liquid "fast" is a lot longer than two weeks -- you have to count AFTER surgery too, right??? and that'll be a Lot longer...
Bottom line, I ain't so happy with my "friend" food right now. She's got me to a bad place. She's been a trickster and a deceiver. She makes me feel good in the short run only to bring me pain in the long term. I'm not so sure I want to take her back after she's done this to me...

At ERP; thanks for the nice words and words of advice. I picked similar photos because I didn't have a before photo of my own breasts; and even though the after photo has the same look and shape as mine, mine are till taped up and bruised. And even though words can describe things, I feel photos allow the reader to see the possibilities when you don't have implants. I am not the least bit ashamed of any part of my body; I don't believe in 'bad' body parts vs. 'good' body parts. I'm sorry if it offended you, but I feel this forum is place where we all learn how to navigate this new world we are in and I for one appreciate all the information I can get.

Two days, insureance letter says approved for one day, but I ain't sweating it -- that's why we pay the surgeon (and his staff) the big bucks! We got enough to worry about.

eggs, tuna/shredded with mayo, cream of wheat, chili with finely grounded beef, canned peaches, applesauce, cheeses (no hard), spam/potted meat, any soups/stews.
Basically anything super moist, tender, and soft. Keep all those 3 adjectives in mind and you will be fine. If it is missing one of the 3 then don't eat it.

Ok, I debated about posting this as I'm still bit insecure about all my loose extra skin but my hubby said its not very noticeable in these pics and I so wanted to share. We went to the beach for Mother's Day on Sunday and it was the first time I have worn a bathing suit without a huge coverup dress in the last 9 years. Here are two pics I'm 7 months out and 90 pounds down, about 15-20 pounds to go!

Be careful with how much Peanut Butter you add - it's pretty heavy in fats and calories. If you can, find PB2. It's peanut butter powder with most of the fat removed. It's easy to order online from Amazon, or you may be able to find it locally - check the health food and diet sections of good supermarkets, or at local nutrition and supplement stores

Hey me too with the morphine! Actually I'm "morphine resistant", which nobody figured out till I was coming out of anaesthesia and no one could understand why I was in so much pain and agony until a clever nurse went hey, she might be resistant to morphine! Which means that even though I could have floated away on the tide of morphine, I was feeling every inch of post-op pain, no bueno!! But once they got the dilaudid on board I was A-OKAY, lololol! . Between the drugs and post-op weakness etc. I lost about 4 days after surgery, to this day (nearly 3 years later) I have to have my Mom tell me what happened during those days, Ihave no real memory of them.
Baby yourself, do nothing but sleep if possible, don't even flip pages, listen to audio books! I sipped some RTD (ready to drink) shakes about 3-4 days after surgery as my first "food" and it took me an entire afternoon to gently sip a small Muscle Milk.
Take your vitamins! sip sip sip! Take your pain meds, don't be a hero! Sleep! Walk gently! Good luck!
Oh and btw, as the anaesthesia leaves your system you will get all itchy, especially your scalp with get all flaky and itchy, it's normal.

Arts137 reacted to Matthew in NSAIDs does anyone take any?
NSAIDs are just plain bad for your stomach...whether you have a sleeve, bypass, or your original stomach. For us, it's a question of surface area....bypass has much less than a sleeve...normal stomach has the most. Regardless, when a NSAID comes in contact with the lining of your stomach there is a risk for ulcer creation (I'll spare you the pathophysiology, just take my word from seeing patients in critical care environments). NSAIDs are one of the most common culprits for upper GI bleeding. Does this happen to everyone? No...some are more predisposed than others. The FDA would pull them off the shelf if it was happening all the time. So.....it depends on how you look at it. There is a risk regardless...but it is higher due to the lower surface area of your new stomach if you are sleeved. Basically, take with food if you must take an NSAID and try not to take them often. Also, there are other NSAID products that can be taken in routes other than orally....talk with your provider about options.

this is an important topic.. I think this is so important fo you to get to the bottom of. This issue may be why you put on all the weight in the first place ( as a shield). You need to seek therapy to get a solid mind/ body balance and be sure you are fully aware that the weight wasnt really shielding you-- you are old enough now to shield yourself and take back your own power. You deserve to be the best you !! Take the time to get to the root of your emotional situation --- why you put on the weight in the first place?
    Best of luck:)
