My surgery went good on mon. No big surprises pretty Much the stuff I expected from reading through the forum. My Two biggest issues were the cotton mouth, it was really bad. I thought my mouth was gonna epoxy shut. Second was hiccups, they weren't regular hiccup but some sort of internal hiccup, they hurt, I've had them before but nothing like that. Was released tues evening from the hospital after I did all my walking and was able to sip 40oz over time and keep it down. Thx for the thoughts and prayers.

Y'all know my daughter cried when I told someone about my surgery. Couldn't figure out why.
Finally she said, WHY are there gremlins in your stomach??!?
Lol. She heard me mention the Grehlin. So now I call it the gremlins.

Dr. Office called and bumped me up from the 6th to the 4th. It's only a couple days but it kinda threw me for a loop. Was able to arrange work and kids schedule but I think mentally it made things feel alot more rushed then they already were. Oh well, just go with the flow.

D mixon I know just how you feel. I actually get tears from time to time thinking of things I wont be able to do (eat a hamburger AND hotdog on 4th of july, eat a whole watermelon, get a 5 course meal on cruises) but then I mentally slap myself. Who cares what I wont be eating?? I will be too busy living to miss it! I will be able to play tennis again, run around playing with my kids, fit into the theater seats comfortably...SHOP! I am giving up something good for something better!

I am on day five and it actually is getting better, a lot better. But what happens to me is I panic, I get anxiety spells. If I see a commercial for food, or a picture of food, or I think of a food, I start to panic with the usual thoughts of I'll never be able to eat that again, I'm angry, I want to eat now. Then when I have my one allowed meal a day and after I finished eating sometimes I think it's not enough, it's not enough I need more how can I live like this. But then the feeling goes away. And I think after some time those thoughts will become less and less and I will be healthy more and more as I lose weight on this journey. I certainly hope this can happen for you. We'll see.

Kodiesmom - im from georgia...TOTALLY understand where you're coming from! Here, food is life...its at the center of everything we do. That's why nearly every person I know is overweight and obese! Thankfully my surgeron requires low carb/high Protein diet and not liquid only. Godspeed to you with that!!
daddyjoe-baby im going to tell you like I've told myself. If you COULD diet like that the rest of your life to be thin and healthy, you WOULD have by now. I've lost weight before on those diets too, massive amounts, kept it off about a year or so then it came right back on! I just can't live like that without something physically stopping me. Sure, with the surgery we essentially eat low carb diets. But with surgery, if we "cheat" and east Pasta, one spoonfull will fill us up instead of the 3 bowlfulls we would have without the surgery. It gives us a fighting chance to re train our brain before we can physically sabotage ourselves.
idk if that made sense to anyone. Feel like im rambling.

hi. my name is dustin ive been reading around on the site for a couple weeks now while ive been getting all my pre op tests done and figured its about time to make a profile. i live in lake havasu, arizona ( gods country ;D ) im a divorced dad of two girls ages 14 and 11 and work in the utilities industry. my doctor is dr. krahn in riverside, ca. im going to him although hes a couple hundred miles away due to the fact ive had a few family members and a few friends use him for their WLS and have nothing but good things to say about him. ive struggled with my weight since after high school when i blew my knee out playing foozball (the devils game) in college and have continued to yo yo with my weight ever since.
