Linda, I want you to know I am a single mother on one wonderful daughter and my mom and sisters (my whole family) was totally against me and I did not talk to many friends because I figured they would have the same attitude as my family did (what if you die, your going to risk killing yourself, what about your daughter). I want you to know its been 2yrs 3 months, and I feel wonderful (I lost 102 lbs in 1 1/2 yrs) I am in great health and am currently engaged and 2 months pregnant. AND MY OLDEST SISTER JUST HAD IT DONE 6 MONTHS AGO AND MY YOUNGER SISTER IS WANTING TO DO IT NOW. My mom has now agreed that it has done wonders for me. The only thing I can suggest is give your friend the information (links, etc) like you did your husband if you want her to try to understand, BUT the decision is ULTIMATELY YOURS and I believe you already have the approval from the MOST important person (your husband) to stand by you know matter what. So you do what you feel in your heart, whats right for you as a person, NOT what everyone else may think is right for you....Ever need anything, let me know! God Bless YOU!

I have a 10 year old daughter myself. I however did not have a problem getting pregnant before the weight loss, but have talked with several women over the past few years, and like you had problems and all of a sudden (most of then less than a year after the surgery) found out they were pregnant. SO i would say chances of you getting pregnant after the lap band will be much greater and I will pray it just happens for you with out all the fertility this time around. That's why I cxld my surgery with him (his staff is horrible) - I found Dr. Spivak and love him. Spiegel - I am not so sure about.

You are not getting enough of prob everything. (drink more water, eat small snacks - yoour bady takes time to adjust - i still get dizzy at times if I get hungry and don't get something to eat soon - i have learned to keep a snack handy in case I feel light headed or dizzy).

i don't believe you could have already stretched you band (too early on to do something like this). My sister hand problems and they did a esphogram (ask for one it measures the actual size of the banded area). Hope this helps....

Hi my name is Terri - I lost 102 lbs in about 1 1/2 yrs. I was banded Feb 15, 2005 and have maintained that until recently (now I am pregnant). I live in Houston, TX and my Doctor is Dr. Hadar Spivak (he is a wonderful man and his staff is just a great as he is). My sister, Chandra, had it done just 6 months ago (my whole family was totally against it when I had it done). I have no regrets and I am so glad I had the lap band done. If anyone needs anything or has questions, please feel free to ask (I will try to be as helpful as possible). I did a commercial for my doctor (when he saw me up at the hospital when he was doing my sisters band he asked me if I would do this) it is on Channel 11 (Houston of course) with a before and after pic.:clap2:
