  1. I actually love drinking cold water, but since the surgery I find that I like a bottle of water, a bottle of Crystal Light, and then repeating it throughout the day. For some reason, the switching is more thirst-satisfying and feels like I am having a "treat"! The Cherry Pomegranate in the to-go packets is simply DELICIOUS!
  2. I also LOVE the raspberry lemonade!
  3. Metal--if you add Crystal Light to-go packets to a .5L bottle of water at least the flavor is different and it goes down a little bit better! The cherry pomegranate is YUMMY! Keep exercising everyone! WAY TO GO A-MAY-ZING BANDSTERS!!
  4. Now I live in a tiny lake community called Lake Carmel, NY...beautiful little (and yes, I stress the LITTLE) town. Moved here to be with my DH and LOVE it now! Came from Connecticut & Wisconsin.
  5. First day of July...first notch on the challenge completed! I wasn't sure about all that water, but it went down good! And the exercise felt good too! If I add a Crystal Light To-Go packet into a bottle of water, does that still count as water? Hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday afternoon!
  6. I'm in for the exercise/water challenge!! All of us CAN do it! And we will! Go May Bandsters!
  7. Help me out WasaBubbleButt--what do slime & PB mean, or what are they exactly?
  8. Wow! Glad you are feeling some relief from that...Good Luck!
  9. What kind of Gas-X? I found MUCH more relief with the chewables than the strips--they are a bit stronger! And definitely WALK...and when you tired, walk a little more. Sit with the heating pad for a spell & then walk again! Watch out for shoulder pain...that will probably settle in after your gas is a bit relieved...just keep walking & use liquid Tylenol for the shoulder pain. Hang in there!
  10. Yup, three LONG weeks...never would have believed that I could've done something like that! But, I am determined! I have "cheated"--when I had the runs last week I slowly ate two pieces of American cheese for the binding effect (but the chewing was very therapuetic too!) I am SO sick of protein shakes! Lucygirl~I noticed you got filled & then unfilled, what was the reason for that? Hope everything is OK!
  11. I know, the growling kinda echoes throughout the body! Ah, mushies...I can only dream about them! I have 5 more days of liquids until I can even have pureed. Strange to think that I am actually excited to eat cottage cheese--I imagine it tasting SO good! My doc requires 3 weeks liquids only after surgery--I was banded the day before you! Great job on the weight loss!! It's a great feeling, huh?
  12. Nope, not alone! My growling has caused much laughter at work...but I just grab something to drink and try to tame it! I haven't had as much gas as in the beginning--maybe I am just trying to control it while I am at work. Are you on pureed or mushies yet?
  13. My surgeon was all in favor of a glass or two of wine a night...which pleased me! I think once I start to inbibe again (after I have some solid foods in me) that I will THOROUGHLY enjoy my wine at night!
  14. I haven't been shy talking about getting my band...told friends, co-workers, some family members. I think for me because I am so insecure I needed support before the procedure & will definitely need it after so by telling people I will gain support & feedback. I had told my parents that I was looking into it, with horrendous results. They were "disappointed in me", "I was taking the easy way out", "I could do it on my own if I tried" and that "I never follow through on anything." Totally devastated me. My DH made me hang up the phone with them as I was hysterical. Understand, both of my parents are obese, and have been my whole life and have been diagnosed with Type II diabetes. My main goal for the band is to prolong my life & make it healthier. They couldn't grasp that. Needless to say, they are unaware that I had the procedure last week and I don't know when or how I will tell them. Kind of unsettling, but I am an adult who feels she made the right choice for her life.
  15. Way to go Edie! Congratulations on all of your success! And same to you Lisa! I haven't set goals or even thought of what my treats will be...
