  4. Thanks all for the advice, and Karen B. I was banded in Jan but I am still very careful about solid foods, I guess the soup and the chicken will be safe for the sedars. I will let you all now after passover (april 23-30) how everthing went.
  5. Anybody out there been banded overthe passover holidays. It is coming up soon and I am terffied about two things, one that all that family gathering and huge meals will be too great a temptation and second what effect will all that Matzo have on a banded stomach, it already blocks up a normal stomah and digestive system.

HI Kathy, My kids are 15,13 and 5. I told them excatly what I was doing. I explained that I was going to make my inside tummy small like a babys ythat is why I had to eat different foods from them in the begining and that soon I would be skinnier and healthier. My five year old went to school and told her teacher that I had a baby tummy and her teacher calld to tell me congrats on being pregnant she thought that my daughter had actually meant to say a baby in my tummy. (we all hada good laugh) but they understood very well and were an active part in my recovery. I do believe honesty to the extent that hey can understand is the best policy

  15. I say aim high. Stay where they are demanding a higher GPA it means they probably have better students and with less travelling time you still get to have more family and study time. Let us know what you decide but it sounds like you can get what ever you really shoot for. Good luck
  16. Hey Jonathan, Sounds like you are on the right path both in mind, in the physical sense and in the financial sense..We are right behind you in each sense of the word.
  17. Went to see my doctor this morning and weighed in at 252, plus he said I did not need a fill so I was really relieved. Great Job all, Looking forwards to seeing all the stats on waistingaway. Thats -7
  18. My Dr. has me taking the vitamin B12 shot once a month, I take centrum protegra once a day and one tums ultra for the calcium ( with a vitamin D tab) the tums is fruit flavored and easy to suck or chew and the centrum is not hard to swallow.
  19. Shoulder pain is from the gas they use in the sugery. I found doing arm circles and/ or getting a massage really helped move the gas along. It does get better. Welcome to bandland from a fellow canadian
  20. Thanks I will try that right now
  21. I had my band done in Quebec and it was not covered by insurance or Medicare, the cost was 17,500, and not over night stay in a hospital. If you want more information just let me know
  22. I can't believe it. I finally am able to walk with out crutches and was looking forward to doing some light exercise when BAM Thursday night I came down with bronchitis. I have coughing my head off when I am not sleeping. But today I was caoughing so hard that I think I did something near my port sit as it is quite sore right now. Is this possible, or am I over reacting anybosy else ever have this, and what did you do. It is two months since being banded and I am going for my first fill on Monday, should I be worried?
  23. I have to say that I agree with those who said go wth the band. THe band is not a diet it is a change in your life style and an intimalty private and personal life choice. The show is just that a show. It is a diet for you for the fleeting time it is on the air, after that you are on your own again to deal with all the isues that got you to where you are today.
  24. Sounds great. I usually check the chat room around 11:00 at night EST
