When to have surgery?
This is something you really will need to decide for yourself. Is his illness life-threatening? You will really need to be able to focus on yourself and your recovery after surgery.

I LOVE Chike Chocolate and like the Synthrax Nectar chocolate and vanilla. Haven't tried the other flavors. You need to try out some different brands.

Unjury chocolate
Looked it up on their website. The chocolate classic is sweetened with aspartame and the chocolate splendor is sweetened with sucralose.

Words that should be banned from VST
Well, this occurs to me -- WLS patients tend to engage in a lot of "bathroom talk." If we brought up the topic in as much detail as is discussed on WLS forums, folks would start avoiding us IRL. :-D

Oh, the shame.
Are you working on the head part of weight loss? Why you became overweight in the first place? Fat is easy to hide behind.

Suprising offer by hubby.
That is soooo sweet! You are a lucky gal. There is no way my DH would do that.

Keeping it a secret
I am keeping my surgery partially secret. My DH knows, my in-laws will be told AFTER the surgery (because I am going to Mexico and I don't want to "hear it" beforehand), my kids know and my close friends know. However, I do not think it is my coworkers' business. It will tick me off to be told that I am "taking the easy way out." I don't want to hear about my decision on where to have my surgery, either. I have to be professional at the office and that can be hard to do when you are seriously **ssed off at folks spouting critical nonsense when they don't know what they are talking about.

Curiosity on your appearance
I do wonder. I was thin until after the birth of my second child and have been overweight for 21 years. I am afraid that after losing the weight, my face will be wrinkled as a prune! However, I am still going through with it. Healthy and feeling good is more important.

I just submitted my paperwork
Hugs and prayers sent your way.

A day in my world...
OMG, that text makes me so angry on your behalf! Calling you names is NOT supportive. WLS is NOT the "easy way out." Sounds like someone who is totally ignorant of the process. My DH is not especially supportive, but he better not EVER speak to me like that. I am so, so sorry that you are getting criticism and name calling instead of love and support. You deserve much better.

Were/are any of you OBSESSED preop?
Oh, yeah, I am totally, completely obsessed. I read WLS forums EVERY SINGLE DAY. I have bought and read numerous books. I have researched the **ll out of it. Have a date of August 5th and have already started trying samples of protein shakes to weed out any yucky ones. (I figure if they are sickly sweet and have a strong aftertaste NOW, they won't be better afterwards.) Have purchased several Tervis tumblers for protein shakes, a magic bullet, presently looking for a food scale. Already scouting around resale shops to determine the good ones since I don't want to spend too much on clothes I will shrink out of. DH tells me I am obsessed and shakes his head, but I already knew it.

Anyone feeling my pain?
It is normal not to be able to get in all your liquids at first. Are you on a PPI? You may be having head hunger and a PPI will help.

Feeling a bit down today...
Hon, it will grow back. It is normal to lose hair after this surgery. I have NEVER heard of someone whose hair did not grow back. In the meantime, get creative with hair accessories. Some folks have their hair grow back thicker!
