  1. I was able to eat runny oatmeal this am 1/2c and about 1/3c of Beans with cheece for lunch. I have had fresh spinich, carrot, celery and beet juice to make sure I am getting nutrients. I also can snack on nuts if I chew real good. It seems the later it is in the evening the better I can eat. I was able to eat some moist fish the size of two half dollars last night and 1/2 lentil Soup. I don't know what to do. I was at 1 cc and went to 1.6cc. I can only eat deli meat, a couple slices. I am concerned that I am not eatting enough. I keep hearing what a fine line it is and I just don't know and that is why I am telling you what I have eatten. It seems I get full on NOTHING at all. Is this the way it should be? Would you suggest I get .1cc out or am I ok? Tonight I ate about 1/2c arichoke, slowly and sometimes will start sliming, YUK! No problems with liquids and it takes me 30 minutes to get down the little I do eat. Thanks for any advice you may have.
  2. Hey, how did you do over the weekend? Could you eat anything?
  3. Vicitoo.... hope all goes well with you. I am leaving town this weekend to spend some time with my 21yo daughter. She was the inspiration for me to get the band. It was her words I heard while alone in Mexico, no one speaking english in the OR, "Mom, you will NOT regret this". I am very tight too, still. It has been one week today. I started my period yesterday so I am going to give it a few more days. I can eat Soups and soft food, but forget meat! I didn't like to eat meat before the band. I always ate Beans and legumes. I am getting nutrients, but I am so used to eatting so much, LOL. I will be back online Sunday... Have a blessed weekend everyone!
  4. Have a good time with your little girl and just drink broth for strength if that is all you can get down. Don't let this ruin the other wornderful blessings you have around you. I am going to pray that you loosen up as I am praying that I too will loosen up. I once fasted on diluted clear juice for 21 days and did fine. You will not wither away drinking juice or broth for several days.
  5. I started doing gentle stretches with bands, pilates stuff. I then did a Lesley Sansome walking in place 1 mile. This was about 2 -3 weeks post op. I eventually went to the gym to do 20-30 minutes on treadmill or eliptical trainer and 20-30 minutes weights. I am recovering from eye and ear surgery and must start over again it seems.
  6. Home made lentil soup (yum) Saute a chopped onion with three slices of bacon (bacon fat seasons it all real good) bag of lentils and about 8 cups wather or more 1/2 c. shredded carott 1 tlb cardemium 2-3 tsp curry chicken stock base (enough to make the Water taste like chicken broth) or use canned chicken broth instead of water with a little base Bring to a boil and simmer about 30-40 minutes... The secret is the chicken broth and cardimiun (don't know how to spell it) If you like split peas, make some of that soup. I use a ham hock in it for seasoning and shredded carrotts and onions with bacon. Can you tell I am from the south? LOL Beans are also good and have protien and fiber, not to mention they are soft.
  7. I love that scripture too. You will not be alone during the surgery, there will be an unseen hand holding yours!
  8. I buy the lentil soup at the grocery store. I am thinking of having a little if I don't loosen up by next week. I just think I should be eatting more than I am. Tonight, a couple pieces of deli turkey and some artichoke (soft). It will be a week since my fill tommorrow.
  9. I am so glad the warm broth helped. Try to stay hydrated. Hopefully tonight you will be able to eat something. As I am typing I am eatting 1/2c lentil soup. Lentils are soft, have Fiber and protien. I have to eat very small bites and it is going to take me awile, if I can finish it. I usually have some coffee around 3:30, get the kids from school and come home to eat a little. Yesterday it took me an hour to get down a little chicken salad, but, like you, I am going to give it a week or so. It sounds like you are very frustrated and scared. I am going to pray for you this afternoon. You have lost 23lbs since Nov., that is great! In the long run I don't think you will regret getting the band. Until you get your fill properly adjusted you may regret it. I think I have loosened up a tad since my fill, hopefully you will too.. One of the things I do when I get down is to make a list of all the things that I am thankful to God for. It really helps.... Keep us posted on how you are doing...
  10. Oh, forgot to say... try something warm like tea... it loosens mine up..
  11. When I got my fill last Friday I was that tight too. I have loosened up a little, but still can't really eat anything of substance until afternoon and evening. I just started so that may have something to do with it from what I have been reading. $300.00 is a lot to pay without floro in mho. Try not to get discouraged, as long as you are keeping liquid down, drink protien shakes and try little chews of stuff in the evening and see if that helps any. What size band do you have? I have the 4cc and now have 1.6cc. I was not restricted much at 1.cc, but the 6cc is like WOW! Give it a few days and keep posting, I too feel like I am in the same boat as you are except I can eat at night, lol. When you go on your outting be sure you have some protien so you don't wind down. Hugs......
  12. I have to pay for each fill, some have their fills included in their surgery price.
  13. I have to laugh because fish got me good Saterday night. It took me an hour to recover, it finally went down. I didn't know you had so much spit, uh, I mean saliva, in your body.

My port bothered me a couple of weeks too. I still have a bruise around it and it has been over two months.
  15. Had my surgery at 8pm and left hospital next morning at ll am.
  16. I would like to take my name off and use a "nickname". Thanks.
  17. 1. What type of pain meds will you be getting 2. What type of eatting will you do after the band 3. If he does the fills, how much does he usually put in 4. What type of band are you getting I would also be sure cost includes aftercare
  18. I am really tight right now. I was filled last Friday and can't seem to eat anything of substance until around 2pm and then it is very slow and very little. I don't know if I am too tight or not. I am going to give it a few days and see h ow I am doing. I think I am getting my calories and nutrients, but I just can't eat much at once, I have to speread it out.
  19. I too add my congradulations. It is an exciting journey for sure.
  20. I had my surgery with Dr. Sanchez and could not be happier. I met a lady while I was in Monterey for cosmetic surgery 2 weeks ago that Dr. Sanchez is treating for FREE because she had some band related difficulties (not due to negligence I might add) Dr. Sanchez has banded thousands and I believe he would stand by his work. He repaired my hernia without charge when putting my band in. You can also e-mail me if you have any questions on Sanchez...
  21. I can feel your pain! Saterday night I had a piece of dry fish get stuck and I slimed for an HOUR. I rushed home and got on the chat and was asking for help because I had not had that happen to me before. I chew chew chew and chew some more now. I don't ever want to have that happen to me again! I was just filled Friday and really had no restriction prior to the fill. Take it slow.
  22. My doc says to give it a month.
  23. Thanks Alex. To be honest I was afraid to try meat after the horrible "golf ball" incident with the cursed dryed fish, LOL. I know you are right about eatting protien first and I am going to endeavor to do that from now on Debby, hey, thanks for all your encouragement the other night. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate it!! This banded life is really a journey and as in any journey you need to be prepared, eh?
  24. OK, I have recovered from the "dryed baked fish" incident and I ate mush and drank liquids. How much food should I be able to eat? Last night I could only eat a couple of tablespoons of mashed potatoes, a bite or two of cabbage, and a small bite of a hard roll. I also had no problem with a Jello pudding cup (low fat of course). This am I could only eat about 2-3 Tlb. of oatbran with Peanut Butter in it. I can swollow without incident, but I just can't hold much. IS THIS NORMAL? Thanks fellow bandsters... Oh, I am at 1.6cc. They gave me a .6cc bump last Friday and I can feel it.
