Bluto got a reaction from ReDbEaN in So What Do I Order @ A Bar?
I used to love beer and I have a job that requires entertaining which means bars and alcohol. I was really concerned about this pre-surgery but what I found out was that nobody really cares what anyone else is doing. We think that everyone is watching us eat / drink but not many people pay attention. They are much more concerned with the plate / drink in front of them. I have gotten Water and someone might say "just water" and I say "yeah not in the mood to drink tonight" and that's the end of it. juice (orange pineapple cranberry) on the rocks is a good option. Note to guys: Don't order juice if your buddies are within earshot, that will catch you more hell than ordering Water.
But back to your original question, Carbonation doesn't agree with me anymore so no beer or soda mix drinks. I'll order a Fireball on rocks or a Black Russian and a water. Drink the water, sip the drink and make it last. I've also found out the hard way that when you are 80# lighter you get hammmmmmmmered quick. Be careful, give your stomach a few months to heal and read about cross addiction before you start drinking again. Aside from that Cheers!

I will also tell you that the post op was MUCH harder for me than the pre-op so get yourself ready. Cheating post op could kill you .
It's weeks of no food--depending on your doc's protocol. We had 3 weeks of liquids only afterwards. There's some pain and discomfort, you're learning to drink slowly, you're sick of Protein shakes but not allowed food---I was literally fantasizing about a grilled cheese sandwich for days. It's not easy. The pre-op discipline you learn will stand you in good stead.
This is the start of a wonderful new life for you. Maybe try to focus on positive outcomes, visualize a new future for yourself, and rather than focusing on food, focus on how good it will feel in just a few more weeks? There are a lot of before and after pics here and those always inspire me.

Please don't be offended but it almost sounds like you're looking for someone to tell you it's okay to cheat. That they did it and had no ill effects. Really, it's not okay to cheat. Even if someone got away with it, it's no guarantee that you will.
It's serious surgery. Don't take a chance. If you cheated, don't do it again. If it's really close to your surgery, call your doctor and let them know.
Not everyone has complications. Not everyone who has complications did something wrong. But you increase the chances of complications when you cheat, either pre-op or post op.
It's not worth losing your life over. Hang tough.

I finally feel like I can do a before and "after"!! I am 9 months post op and love my sleeve!! I finally love my life! No more staying in for me! No more putting off laundry because it's "all the way downstairs". I'm living life, smiling all the time, enjoying the heck out of it all!!! Side by side- the best I could do for now. ****** try to avoid my horrible "bra is 4 sizes too big" deal I have going on. It's gonna be remedied soon. Hehe When I was a newbie (feels like yesterday) I adored before and afters. I want I be an inspiration. If anyone has questions don't hesitate to ask bid love to help! 240/127 size 22/6 Before= miserable Before face And here's me in the bathroom at Walmart. The reason for this pic is that I used to cringe and damn-near cry when I see the mirrors at Walmart. Every time. I HATED mirrors. Now!? I get giddy to walk by one and look at and pinch myself!! I'm 126.8 today. My ultimate goal is to get to 116-120.

I am one of those people with severe complications...My life completely turned upside down because of the decision I made to make my life and my health better....
I am still struggling a year later with health problems because of my choice...Would I recommend it to anyone else...YES I would..If their quality of life was like mine before I had this surgery I would in a fast minute...I would however let them know all the possible risks....But I was the walking dead and had no quality of life...
Sure there are restrictions and not always good days and probably the hardest thing I ever did in my life...The benefits extremely out weigh the bad days for sure...
I have my life back...I can do almost anything now and am still not at goal...I am a new person with a new look at life....
In fact it is one year today that I came out of my 19 day coma due to a leak and I went septic....I am reliving the events of my ordeal but not regretting it....that will never happen
I have turned my eating into a more interesting exotic experience now and enjoy different food then I have ever before...I am not satisfied with mac and cheese any more...If it is not tasty or interesting I don't eat it...I have become a food snob....I like it that way.....
Too many positives for me to look at this with fear or regret!!!!!

My thoughts? You were right that was a long azz post!
But really are you are not glad that someone mentioned the surgery to you?? Is your life not improved because of it?
I am not a walking billboard I do not try and talk someone into surgery just because I had it..
But if someone asks I will tell them.
You are not responsible for someone going off half cocked and who they chose as a surgeon.
I would love to know the recent stats on how many people are choosing to have sleeve surgery because to me it seems to have tripled this last year..
With its popularity comes people not putting in time to research (and I mean more than just this site) and just think about what they think is the instant gratification like "girl I can't wait to rock some skinny jeans" of the surgery.
Also we have Drs by the truckload jumping on the bandwagon because of the profits to made of of all these people..
This is our fast food instant gratification nation!
THIS IS MAJOR SURGEY and should be the last resort after all avenues have been exhausted.
There are risks but if you are fat enough those risks are outweighed by the benefits...
How's that for a long post

This will be brief. Was at Whole Foods yesterday and spied these "natural high Protein meal bars". I got the Raw Cashew Cacao as it had the highest protein content with lowest net carbs of the available choices (19p 38c with 12f).
If you are into all natural meal bars and like the taste of pure evil mixed with a dash of ass then this is the bar for you. Pros: It IS in fact a healthy all natural Meal Replacement bar. No questions there. It provides what it says it does.
Cons: It looks like what my dog deposits in the back yard and while I do not have empirical data on the next comparison I'm guessing it tastes similar as well.
They must call this Warrior Meal as only someone in a war torn desert about to die if they don't get food would eat this. I guess I'll never make it as a warrior.
I'd go have my stomach pumped but I'm afraid I'd taste this monstrosity over again on the way out.

Well it's been three months since my surgery. I am 6'3" and started out at 320 lbs. As of this morning, I weigh 255 lbs. I am at my lowest weight in 20 years. I'm a private person and the thought of posting pictures embarrasses the hell out of me. But there were so many people here that I watched and read about for months before deciding to start this journey. One of the things I that helped my decision was looking at before and after pictures. So in an effort to hopefully pay it forward, increase my karma points, and help someone else....
