  2. I was told no polish on my finger because the put the pulse ox probe to measure your oxygenation but I had a French manicure on my toes. They said that was ok
  3. I'm 50 and had my surgery 3 weeks ago today. Absolutely no complications whatsoever. My primary care doctor even took me off Lipitor that I have been on for 12 years. That was exciting!! I'm 28 lbs down. I started at 258 and i weighed in at 230 this am. very happy so far!!
  4. No I haven't but I'm not allowed protein bars yet. 1 more month and maybe then(I hope). that sounds yummy!!!
  5. Good Luck tomorrow Firelle! I'll be thinking of you. Text me when you can. I'll be saying lots of prayers that you feel we'll very shortly afterwards.
  6. I think we should all put on beautiful evening gowns and tuxes and walk down the red carpet too! We are beautiful!!!!
  7. Hahaha!!! Come visit me honey! The weather is GORGEOUS!!! I have extra sleeping space!
  8. I agree with everything Laura said. And my favorite protein by far is the premier. It's delicious!!! And you only need two a day to get your 60 grams in. Very easy! Try it! You can get it at Costco!
  9. I miss Meijer's, only saw them in Michigan Nd Ohio. We don't have them here in Florida!!
  10. You will do just fine! We all had second thoughts and didn't know if we were ready for the lifestyle change but you know what??? Your body and mind adjust and it's easier than you think. Eventually you will be able to enjoy those foods again. Just in much smaller portions. Good luck!!
  11. I'm the same way! I want to eat and things look and smell good to me but my tummy says NO WAY!!!! Grrrrrrr!!!!
  12. Best of luck to the remaining Feb sleevers! You're new wonderful life is about to begin! We are all here for you! Xxxoooo
  13. Omg! That's good to hear. I kinda freaked out about it but since it was clear I knew there was no infection, just so weird. Thank you! Gives me the heebee jeebies! Yuk!!!
  14. Help!! I'm 18 days post op and when I eat too fast I feel like I want to vomit however if I try I just cough up a wad of clear thick slime. What the heck is this? I remember someone writing something about sliming a few weeks back but I didn't question it. Is this normal? Has anyone else coughed up slime? Sorry it's so gross!
  15. I had tomato soup too but when I told my NUT she said no because its too acidic! Really????
  16. I'm 18 days post op. had a regular cup of coffee and it was marvelous! Having trouble tolerating soft foods though and figuring out when I had enough until its too late. then i get that awfully uncomfortable feeling between my shoulder blades that I ate too much or too fast. I wish I could just stay on liquids. It was so much easier for me!! I just need to S-L-O-W down!!!
  17. I'm grateful to you as well. Although I was never banded I understand the ups and downs you encountered. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad this year as well and I too drank a lot, granted it was before my sleeve but I did gain quite a bit of weight due to the stress of it all. I am just 17 days post op and started solid foods this week. I am not doing as we'll as I thought I would. My life is so rush rush that I know I am eating too fast and I get that awful pain between my shoulder blades. It comes on before I realize I am full. I need to learn to slow down. I have lost 26 lbs so far so I'm happy for that. I can't wait to be a size 8. It's been since high school that I was that size!! Thank you again for sharing your story. It's wonderful to hear about the sleeve veterans experiences. God bless!!!
  18. Wow! Way to go! You look beautiful!
  19. What a story! Thank you for sharing it! I'm so sorry that happened to you. It's something we all need to be aware of I suppose. I bet you look fabulous though.
  20. Wait!! You had this as an outpatient?? Didn't you stay in the hospital? Ask doctor for Lortab if you can take Vicodan. It's the liquid form. It worked for me but I suppose it doesn't work for everyone. I didn't have a lot of pain though. Take care!
  21. I agree with all the posts. The gas and nausea is the worst but doesn't last too long. You learn to burp like a man! (Sorry guys). ???? It does get better very quick. And I cried the first night because I realized I let some dude take out most of my healthy stomach! I bawled for about 15 minutes then I was fine! Haven't cried since and I'm 17 days post op and 30 lbs lighter. I'm thrilled and I feel better then ever. Absolutely no regrets at all! Keep on this forum too! It's a great support system. Prayers for your continued positive progress!!
  22. I had absolutely no problems with UHC!! They were awesome! Sorry to hear your experience didn't go we'll.
  23. Bring ear plugs eye mask and your fav sleeping pillow in a colored pillow case so you don't forget to bring it home. Good luck !! You'll do great!!
  24. Wow! Wow! Wow! You're absolutely stunning! Way to go girl! You are an inspiration.
