  1. I was very nervous about this surgery and constantly second guessing my decision but now that I'm 2 months post op and 50 lbs lighter and fitting into size 16 jeans and feeling amazing I thank God I did this. The good definitely outweighs the difficult time and it wasn't that bad to begin with. Now that my life is settling down and I get the hang of this lifestyle, it's just so easy for me. You will not regret this decision!
  2. Dr Szomstein is also nice on the eyes too! Venezualan! Yummy! Bonus!! And I heard good things on your doc too. You will be in great hands! My insurance would only cover a "Center of Excellence" so I was limited on my choices but I am so happy I went where I did!! I actually live near Ft Myers on the west coast so I had to drive two hours but it was well worth it! Good Luck honey!!!
  3. Awesome and congrats!!! We have a lot in common. I am also a nurse and live in south florida. I'm two months post op and had my surgery by Dr. Szomstein at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Weston and am thrilled with everything!!! I'm 46 lbs lighter. So happy!!! You will do great!!
  4. It does get better! I promise!!! Once you get home and back into your own bed you will feel so much better. I'm two months post op and couldn't be happier. I just left my doctors office for my post op visit and told them I don't feel like I have ever had surgery except that I feel and look so much better. Hang in there!!!!
  5. She's GOEGEOUS!! You're HANDSOME!!!! I bet you guys can't keep your hands off each other! This is one if the coolest things I've read on this forum so far!! Congratulations, best wishes, God Bless!!!
  6. Holy Moly!!! You look fricken' amazing!! Way to go!!!
  7. "Graze" on high protein stuff!! Ham and cheese rolled up, cheese sticks, Greek yogurt, or sugar free Popsicles or lemon ice. Sometimes just a spoonful of peanut butter helps me too but watch the calories! Are you at the stage for fruits and veggies?? I have even nibbled on rice cakes and did fine.
  8. Bring ear plugs and a sleepy mask to hosp
  9. How blessed I am to have a wonderfully supportive husband! He loves the attention and comments I'm getting. He just had a hip replacement 2 weeks ago and having his other hip done in 3 weeks! So now it's my turn to support him!!! And happy and proud to do it too!!!
  10. Congrats! Sounds like you are doing everything right!!!
  11. Way to go! You look so good!! Love how you set up the photos!!!
  12. My 3 week post op stall lasted 3 weeks and my 8 week stall is a week so far!
  13. Yep! Just takes that one time!
  14. I like the Premiere chocolate protein shakes. It's 30 gram of protein and only 1 gram sugar. And it's yummy!!! It's only sold at Costco and I think Sams club. Does anyone else know where to buy it?
  15. Ahhhhh!!! No thanks!! It sounds too psycho for me!!!! I'll stick to my chick flicks and The Voice.
  16. What are you guys talking about??? Sounds interesting!!!!
  17. I had a 3 week stall at 3 weeks post sleeve and then list for two weeks then another 2 week stall. I know it's a normal process of the body readjusting so keep doing what you are doing and walk walk walk drink your water and don't worry!! I hate stalls too but I have to be patient!!!
  18. Good for you! Thanks for letting us know how you're doing! It's gonna be a wild and marvelous ride but you are not alone!! Hang in there!!!
  19. Amen Sister!!! You look beautiful!!!
  20. Awesomeness!!! You will do great! Prayers for an easy and speedy recovery!!! Walk walk walk and take your fav pillow and ear plugs so you can sleep well. Let us know how you're doing!! Woohoo!!!!!!!
  21. Oh my!! I'm sorry you are going through that all. I have not had any of theses problems and I'm getting skinnier. Matter of fact on the contrary. Sex is so much better now that I'm skinnier. Food is appreciated more. I can eat just about anything and not have any problems. As far as drinks.... Sure no beer but I bring my Chrystal light and ask for a tall glass of vodka, water and line and add my CL to that and I'm good for the night!! I get chicken wings (non breaded of course) and nibble on those although I haven't been able to eat more than three but I take the rest home. I haven't lost hair but I use Bosley products and take my biotin to prevent that. It's about being proactive and staying super positive. That's the key to success!!!! Best wishes to you!! Keep your head held high and smile!!! You will get through this!!!!
  22. 3 weeks for me at 3 weeks post op
  23. My In laws live in Johnstown (well Vinco). But I'm in Florida so I doubt they have it here.
