  1. Right, (((((Michele))))), if you are dealing with a metabolic issue, caused by a wacky pit, then this is one of the very, very common symptoms. I know this is hard, hon. I know it is. Research, research, research. You have my number, call me any time you need to talk, just remember the time difference :notagree
  2. I was unfilled a few months ago, and I won't get another fill until after my brain tumor gets removed. Sorry I can't offer anything else to offer.
  3. My neuro just fired my yesterday.... All because I wasn't happy with waiting 4 months for an appointment! The nerve of me!
  4. EERRRKKKK!!!! People do not need food to survive???? WTF??? I'm so proud of you for not taking this lieing down. I know it's hard when we are sick, but you are raring to go. I know it's a little different when it's "just" a band that's too tight. I've been too tight, but nothing like this. You poor thing! You go get him, and both those hospitals! I had a collapsed lung, and the ER doc got mad because I "refused to talk to her." She wanted to send me home for being uncooperative. Good thing the nurse noticed I was turning blue... People forget that half the doctors graduate at the bottom half of their class. When you doctor tells you that there's nothing wrong with you, and you know something isn't right, get that second, or third, or how every many opionions you need. Fight for your health! You are the only one who will! (((((hugs))))))
  5. well, in this case, "layin' pipe" isn't as funny as "sport' wood"... that's the only difference. And Ddiedrie, you do Defiance, Ohio proud! (((hugs))))
  6. Sorry Sue, I forget that rape is used as a tool of war, as a tool of genocide. My brain hurts and there is only so much that I can deal with. Lots and lots of evil. I am sorry.
  7. Well. My mother almost died from an illegal abortion in the late 1960's. She already had 5 kids. My dad was out on disability, with a possible broken back. I was six years old, and my youngest sibling was less than a year old. My mom worked full time, and couldn't afford taking time off that she would have needed to taken off. When I was a younger woman, I worked at a woman's health clinic, where yes, we provided all gyn/ob services. And yes, I was shot at one day while I was getting the clinic ready for a general gyn clinic. Three .22 caliber shots aimed at my head. All three missed Good thing I live a charmed life. You want to get rid of abortions? Then make sure that all women are empowered in their own sexuality. End this "oh it just happened" nonsense. Empower women so they know their bodies, so they are responsible for their bodies. End this nonsens crap 'absenenc only' BC. We need to teach our youth how their bodies work. We do them the greatest disservice imaginagle by not teaching them how their bodies work, how to not get pregent, how to not spread sexual disases. You want to end abortions? Embower womend sexually.
  8. pretty much we are looking at annicdotal evidence. We don't have any hard data that anyone has ever died from the band.
  9. is that because he's sportin' wood? Right, I better leave before the shoes, wooden and other wise can hit me. Hey! be kind! I DO have a brain tumor, ya know!
  10. Agarcia, hon, the sugery is just the first step in a very long journey. If you do not have good after care lines up, you are asking to fail. Just asking to fail. The band is not designed to work without a fill. Are you planning to go to Mexico for your after care and your fills? I know that for some folk this will be a good solution, but not for others. A savings of $5,000 on your surgery will be destroyed if you cannot find any one to do your fills. You need someone with a good track record for your fills too. Not just anyone can do them. They need to be specially trained by Inamed. This is very important, and I cannot stress this enough. Good luck in your research.
  11. Hi Beachee, Time to start looking for answers alright. You might see about upping your calories to 1200, and if that doesn't make the scales budge then it's really time for serious interverntion. I would have you doc check your cortisol levels with at the very minium of 3 UFCs, which are 3 -24 hour urine tests where you collect every drop. Check out the resources in my sig line. I know it is very, very difficult to go through WLS and not have and WL.
  12. I want to add my birthdy wishes too! May the cities in your wake burn like candles on your cake! Happy birthday!
  13. http://news.yahoo.com/photos/ss/events/en/080601fashion/im:/061007/481/aa0efca57a6d467ba96638bdc99bb32c;_ylt=Am_TVvhcUs6g7DhvQ2JkW25.KcMA;_ylu=X3oDMTA5bGcyMWMzBHNlYwNzc25hdg-- I've heard that models are refered to as "hangers." the previous link and that link kinda prove it... But I think this link show you what designers really think about women... http://news.yahoo.com/photos/ss/events/en/080601fashion/im:/061006/photos_us_rank_afp/9a63c29473d56eab101f6360b83fef87;_ylt=Aun2qt1R0RKoqiHu6ueBk3DlWMcF;_ylu=X3oDMTA5bGcyMWMzBHNlYwNzc25hdg--?sp=-1&lsp=3000
  14. Yeah, I'm with you Bitter. On all accounts. I won't see a male gyn. I just won't. I had one GP get pissy with me becaues I told him up front that I would need a referal to a female GYN. So I fired him. I don't need that kind of drama queen in a doc. Now Washington state requirest that BC be covered about fucking time! I don't know if the pun is intended or not. I just don't know. I did, however, almost come to blows over that one with a guy in my lab though. He's normally quite level headed. In this case, I think his head was flattened. He felt that BC was a luxury that women should have to cover herself. But that viagra and all other ED treatments *should* be covered by the insurance company. Because it involves a man's sense of well being. And that apperently is more important that preventing unwanted pregnancies or treating the various hormonal issues that BC pills are prescribed for. He came that close to being clobbered by something really heavy. Repeatedly.
  15. When I first heard Anne Coulter and Rush "Ditto-Head" guy, I thought they were both comedians. I didn't think they honestly thought they were serious. I still don't. It's the people who listen to them who scare the hell out of me. The people who believe them that scare the hell out of me. Of course, Fox had to turn Foley into a Dem...
  16. A I think if Fat was the fashion, then more people would be packing on the pounds. Right now, however, we have this giant diet food industry that is intricate that sometimes seems as complex and monstrous as the military industrial complex. How many people do damaging things to themselves in the name of fashion? I mean, throughout history? Women have blinded themselves with belladonna drops because large pupils were beautiful. They used lead based foundation because it made their face a wonderful white. Corsets that rearranged bone structures, surgery to remove the floating ribs, foot binding, the list of things people do to for beauty is probably endless and endlessly disturbing. Ah, but it is all about degrees, isn't it. What is "fat" anyway? How do we measure it? Do we measure it based on a universal chart that was devised by life insurance companies, by something out of the 1930's, do we base it on an individual's FFM, or something else? What do we do with someone who has a high BMI because they are an athlete and have a high muscle/fat ratio? Thin people become diabetic, and not all fat people do. Some thin people have trouble with high blood pressure and cholesterol while some MO folks do not. Oh yes, extra weight does add wear and tear on joints and the body, no question, absolutely no question. Perhaps HunnyBun's question is directed towards the folks who've been banded at a low BMI, the folks at with a BMI of 32 or so. We know there are folks that have been banded just for vanities sake. Other's with a low BMI have been banded because they were afraid they were going to develop co-morbidities. For some, this was a very real possibility, for others, perhaps not so immanent. I was banded because my weight was starting to kill me. My asthma had gotten so bad I didn't know if I was going to die from respiratory failure. I couldn't lose on my own, and I figured that the band was going to help me. I figured the band would help me lose weight. (Insert maniacal/hysterical laughter here) Okay, so band isn't going to help me lose weight either. Maybe nothing will ever help me lose weight. Maybe once Pitunia is out of my head I'll lose weight, maybe I'll be fat forever, I don't know.
  17. I think, Kathy, that's all anyone can do, is cheer me on. I have a great medical team. One of the best in the world, It is out of my control, like so many things in my life. I just am along for the ride. The key is to know what I have control over, and what I don't. What I can help with, and what I cannot. It's sort of like when you go to a big professional ball game, you know? Or any sporting event. The home team always has the advantage because of the noise that gets generated, because of the energery, the good will and the "vibe" I guess. That's what I'm coming here for right now. I need that energy. You know when the Queen song comes on, and every is stomping and clapping? STOMP! STOMP! CLAP! STOMP! STOMP! CLAP! We will, we will ROCK YOU! You know what I'm talking about. That's the energy I'm looking for. That's what people can do for me. That's what they can give me. That's what you can do for me. Let me hear some noise people! :girl_hug:
  18. oh that is too funny! I actually wrote a limeric about it, and I never write them... There once was a woman from Bellevue Whose brain was brought into view It’s done transsphenoidal At least it’s not hemorrhoidal And her tumor was sucked out like goo
  19. DOH! Anytime you have a new or different headache, especailly one that is really bad like vomiting, you *NEED* to have it checked by your doctor. Not, "well, you might want to have it looked at," but NEED TO HAVE IT DONE!!!!!
  20. Dr. L took my case to the Tumor Board Friday. So hopefully I'll be looking at brain surgery very soon. I was in the ER last week and the ER Doc said that according to the reports and notes faxed from OHSU, he said I was looking at surgery in October! He wanted to talk about the transsphenoidal (up my nose with a rubber hose) technique, being a geeky doctor, but he had to go take care of a broken leg.
  21. The Tumor Board is a big pannel of doctors that meet to look at all the evedence. Cushing's is rare, and Cyclical is even more rare. Dr. L has to make sure that all the ducks are in their rows. Thank Mandy! If it wasn't for my Cushing's board I don't know what I'd do. Seriously. As important as LBT has been, the Cushing's board is litterally saving my life. No hypebole there. Unvarnished truth.
  22. Right then. How many pounds have you lost since your fill? (((hugs))) What's your starting BMI, just a general range, and how much excersize are you getting in?
  23. I never thought it was a joke. I always thought he meant that seriously.
  24. Excellent Lisa! Well done in taking your health in charge! This isn't easy, but check the links in my signature for the Cushing's groups. You might not have Cushing's but I'm so proud of you for getting the full work up. Push for answers, and then if those answers don't seem right, PUSH HARDER (((((hugs)))) Always_Smile1st, when were you filled?
