  1. I was supposed to start W2D1 yesterday but ended up coming down with the stomach flu. Took today off to fully recover and will start tomorrow. Everybody is so encouraging here. Keep up the good work people!!
  2. Congratulations! You are on the right road. I am about a month ahead of you and LOVE my journey!
  3. Wow! Your an inspiration. Congratulations!
  4. Completed week 1 yesterday. Looking forward to week 2 tomorrow. This thread is really motivating!
  5. Welcome Rickster. I'm from Kansas but wanted to welcome you and wish you the best of luck. This is a wonderful journey you are on.
  6. Oops, my username on MFP is LisaT678. (Same as here)
  7. I would love the friendships as well. I have requested friendships with you all too!
  8. I actually started yesterday. I had started the program a couple of years ago and made it all the way to the 20 min run. I ran 20 min once and then couldn't do it the next time. I got so depressed about it that I quit. I'm not doing that again! I was sleeved on 12/6/12 and my goal is to have my 100 lbs gone in a year and then run a half marathon 6 months after that. That should be the spring or summer time and perfect weather. Goid luck everyone and I'll keep checking back in.
  9. Congratulations and good luck!
  10. Congratulations and welcome to VST! You will find it very helpful and uplifting to be here. I was sleeved Dec. 6, 2012 and I am still a newbie here but I have gained some knowledge and found comfort from the people here. I live in a small town where there is no access to support groups so this is my support. It has been very helpful. Good luck on your journey and remember, don't get discouraged - get busy and enjoy life!
  11. I've been eating nuts since about 6 weeks post-op. I haven't had any problems. I LOVE nuts! I buy the big bags at SAMs of the specific kind I like and mix them all together. Sometimes I add a small amount of crasins for that little surprise sweet treat.
  12. EGD is standard for my surgeon.
  13. So sorry you are having these issues. Will be praying for you and waiting for an update.
  14. I have a 2 mo appt with my Dr in a week. I am going to ask him about the weight loss and daily calories consumed. This topic is very interesting to me and might help answer why I haven't lost the last couple weeks.
  15. Mine went fine. Didn't even realize that they had started or finished. Slept through it all. The worst part for me was getting the iv started. I have rolling veins. ;^/ I even went back to work that afternoon.
  16. You look awesome and healthy! Congratulations!!
  17. Good luck! Just getting to this point is 3/4 the battle. Today starts a new life for you!
  18. Awesome job, awesome attitude! Your an inspiration to stay positive and look for the bright side in every part of this journey.
  19. This is all very informative and answers some questions I've had. I know the stall that I have hit is common in weeks 5-6 but it is still disheartening.
  20. For me I felt like I could feel right where the internal stitches were and when I turned wrong it pulled the stitches and that in turn hurt like the burgers.
  21. I was tender in the main incision area up till 4.5 weeks. This week is the first week I was able to put my jeans on. Now I am 6 weeks out and totally pain free. Like Trinity said, take it easy and walk a lot. It will ease up and then there's no stopping you. Best of luck in your journey.
  22. I will have to look for this! Thanks.
  23. I was sleeved one month and 2 days ago too! I started walking week 3 on the treadmill. I gave myself a "talking to" and just told myself that I have invested too much money, time and life being fat and I am going to put as much energy into exercising as I did in eating. I told myself that this was a NO if, ands or butts issue! I will work out 5 times a week at 30 mins. Maybe being the "bad cop" to yourself is what you need. But give yourself credit for making the decision to become a new healthier version of you.
