Vitamin Advice
Calcium and Iron should be taken 2 hours apart. My nutritionist never mentioned spacing b12. I take a regular(not chewable) multi Vitamin in the AM, chew 2 Calcet ceamy bites calcium citrate throughout the day and take an extra iron tablet at night.

In Month 1 What couldn't you tolerate consuming?
I find that certain brands of bottled water go down easier for me. We have well water and I don't like the taste at all. My favorite bottled water brands are Dasani, Aquafina and Crystal(5 gallon bottle for cooler from Home Depot)

Cruising at 3 months out
My surgery was 7/22, I went on a cruise Thanksgiving week with no issues. There are plenty of healthy, low carb choices. There are always eggs for Breakfast, always meat choices for lunch and dinner. I felt wasteful leaving so much on my plate at dinner but I tasted a little bit of everything. You can also take adavntage of the gym or the running track on the top deck

Nothing!!! 6.5 months post op and nothing has made me sick, never thrown up.......sleeve o' steel. That , of course, is a blessing and a curse.

Have you ever been tested for Cushing's? It causes round middle and skinny limbs and could change body odor.

Ghrelin part of stomach gone?
Mabe you can see a nutritionist that has experience with WLS patients. Have you ever had a endoscope done to see what size your stomach is? Is it possible the sleeve wasn' t done properly? I still get hungry, but nowhere near like it was before. Sometimes I think to myself...ok, I am starving so tonight I am going to have two meatballs instead of one or a whole chicken cutlet instead of just half. But then when I sit down to eat all of it I can't. I hope you find some answers

What liquids do you have pre-op?
13 days were Protein drinks(up to 5 per day), Water, broth, any sugar free drinks. I lived on Vitamin Water Zero and now I can't even look at a bottle....lol. On the 14th day, Clear liquids only. The first 3 days were brutal, no lie...but after day 4 the hunger subsides. I think back now and I am amazed I did it. Good luck.

Having problems adjusting
Then I must agree with Shersun......call your doctor and get help, dehydration is serious. Maybe you need and endoscope to see if there is a stricture or something else going on. It could be a simple fix like an anti-nauseau or acid reflux medication needed. Don't wait too long.

Having problems adjusting
Have you tried mixing apple juice with Water? I could not drink plain water at all. I mixed water and apple juice 50/50 and it went down so much easier. Don't worry about the carbs or calories in the juice for now, just get your fluids in. Any Fluid counts......broth, decaf tea, sugar free ice pops, Vitamin water zero, Powerade zero. Try different things besides water.

help
If your surgeon's office is far, why not call the office and ask? I think that the answer to your question should come from your doctor. Everyone on here means well but your doctor knows your medical history and should be the one to tell you what medications or supplements you can and can not take. Good luck, I hope you find pain relief soon.

I ate a solid too early...need ideas to be prepared. Please help...
Did you surgeon give you a meal plan? Follow it to the letter. It is there to protect your healing stomach! Farina, refried Beans, sugar free pudding, mashed potatoes, chili in the blender......there are lots of options for the pureed stage.

Stomach Burning ? Normal?
You may need a different PPI. I have been very fortunate but I have read on here about people trying several different acid blockers before finding the one that works. Some take a PPI and Zantac. Good luck, I hope you find relief soon.

Stomach Burning ? Normal?
Did your doctor give you a PPI? I was given Prevacid and Carafate for one month post op.

Cannot eat or drink anything, i get sick.. Help!
You may not be ready for soft foods yet...everyone heals at a different rate. If broth is OK, go back to liquids for another few days or a week. At the beginning I could not drink plain water so I mixed apple juice 50/50 with water and it was much easier to drink. You can try adding some unflavored Unjury protien to the broth too. And yes, this will go away....for some people it takes longer than others.

Yuck :( protein shakes yuck :(
Two suggestions.....Premier Protein, tastes like chocolate milk to me and try mixing Trop 50 low calorie OJ with vanilla Protein powder. Tastes like a creamsicle. It's a little higher in carbs but if you need to get your protein, it's worth a try.

how soon can I eat, sleeved on 2/4
Yes, please wait for your own safety. You've made it this far.....YOU CAN DO IT!

how soon can I eat, sleeved on 2/4
What does your post op instructions say? Every surgeon is different. The post op liquids allow you to heal properly, you do not want to risk a leak by eating to soon. When in doubt, call your doctor.

What can I eat
Yes....refried Beans are yummy. My plan allowed thin farina, sugar free pudding, natural applesauce, thin mashed potatoes. Did you get a meal plan from your surgeon or nutritionist? Please follow that plan to ensure proper healing.
