  1. Anyone use this website? It claims to get your insurance company to pay for protien drinks for WLS patients. I am going to call my insurance company tomorrow and see what they say. I am not comfortable giving my insurance information out.
  2. Isn't it an amazing feeling to hear those words....you're approved?!?!?!?! I damn near cried, had to take a minute to relax so I could finish the conversation on the phone with my coordinator. 7/22 for me....good luck!
  3. I ordered the sample package from unjury. Overall, for the price I was disappointed with the vanilla and chocolate. the chocolate was OK, the vanilla had a blah taste to me. Not a very strong vanilla taste at all. I added a few drops of Dasani pineapple/coconut flavor and it was good. Have not tried the chicken broth or unflavored yet. Premier Protein from Sam's, costco or BJ's Club is the best in my opinion, actually tastes like chocolate milk to me.
  4. I waited FOUR long weeks for insurance approval...had myself convinced I was being denied. Finally approved after several calls from my coordinator to Aetna, surgery on 7/22.....trying to keep myself busy and not think about it constantly. Easier said than done. Good luck!
  5. 7/22....report to hospital 5:30AM
  6. Miralax, stool softener for home
  7. Dr. Feteiha is my surgeon too!!!! I like him and Lourdes a lot. I am scheduled for 7/22. How did it go for you?
  8. Tums is calcium carbonate, sleevers need calcium citrate. I have also been reading a lot about rebound acid from Tums and that Gaviscon is a better option for quick relief.
  9. FOUR stressful weeks of waiting, missing paper work, errors by insurance company and today I got the call call from my surgeon's office....APPROVED!! Appointment on Tuesday with scheduler. My heart rate might slow down by then.
  10. OMG........approved!!!!!!!
  11. There is a brand of iron called Slow FE that is supposed to be gentler on the stomach. I believe it is time released. I took it whil pregnant years ago. Good luck
  12. GRRRRR......just heard today that Aetna claims I was only under the surgeon's care for 72 days which of course is not true. I went once a month in Feb, Mar, April and May. My insurance coordinator left a message for the person at Aetna who is reviewing my case to confirm that I met my 90 day requirement. MORE waiting.
  13. I am going to say yes, you can be denied. My surgeon does not schedule surgery until approval is received from insurance company. I was submitted end of May, still waiting. Good luck.
  14. Although my pre cert was submitted on 5/17 according to Aetna they did not receive my "clinicals" until 6/3 so it is STILL in review. I am trying so hard not to obsess over it. I was thinking of calling again tomorrow.
  15. First step is to call your insurance company go see if they cover WLS and what the requirements are. Then I would attend few WLS seminars with different doctors, research get as much info as yiu can. Get a referral from your PCP if required and a letter from your PCP with your weight history and his/her recommendation for WLS. Make an appointment with the surgeon of your choice. My surgeon has a checklist of things that need to be done....blood work, psych eval, nutritionist, etc. and had names of people to see for all of this. I am now waiting on my insurance. GOOD LUCK!
  16. The thing that makes me mad is that I know it was submitted on May 17th, I have a reference number and the insurance company confirms it was submitted on May 17th...so why submit without the "clinicals"....GRRRR!!! My doctor is Dr. Feteiha in Springfield.
  17. I am in Central NJ.....waiting on insurance. Sooooooo frustrating. Submitted 5/17, called my insurance company this morning and they JUST got the clinicals over the weekend. Up to now I have loved my surgeon and his staff but what the hell were they waiting for to submit the clincals? Talk about STRESS!!!
  18. Aetna.....not sure if makes much of a difference...I know my plan covers WLS and my BMI is 41 but in 2012 it was shy of 40. Iam trying very hard to not think about it constantly.
  19. I hear ya! My paperwork was submitted 5/17, as of this morning it is "pending" I am hoping pending is much better than denied. STRESS!!!!!!
  20. Hi all, Does anyone know exactl how much Premier Protein shakes cost at Costco? How many in the case? I can get a 12 pack of the 11 oz size for $22.57 on Amazon so I was wondering if it is worth the fee to join Costco if I would not be saving that much. Thanks.
  21. That was quick.....my papers were submitted 5/17. Just curious, not trying to be nosy but f you you do not mind....your BMI? Any co-morbitities? My BMI is just over 40 and I have no co-morbitities. The 40 BMI alone shiuld be enough according to ky surgeon and fron what I researched but I have read some negative things about Aetna on these boards and I am starting to worry
  22. How about unflavored protein mixed in your broth?
  23. I am in Middlesex.....waiting for insurance approval, surgery will be at Overlook
