I feel like I am a slow loser!
After I had surgery, I lost week that first week, and then did not lose a single pound for THREE WEEKS. I have no idea why but that is extremely common, but it suuuuuucks. Just keep going, follow the rules. It's way too soon to declare that you are a slow loser or anything like that. It will pass, I promise. trust the process. You cannot maintain your weight with the amount of calories you are taking it. There is more than that at play here, which is why you might be stuck here for longer than you like, but just keep going.

Bacon!
It's not a terrible idea to remove yourself from the situation. Pre-op diets are hard. It's easier post op once you get back to normal foods becase you CAN have some, but right now... Just got to fight it out and muscle your way though. Ask her to open a window and light a candle too, bacon smell lingers... lol

Incision question!
Meh, what did your doctor tell you? I waited to use anything until mine were pretty well scabbed over.

Weird post op hair problem
I had some noticeable hormonal issues RIGHT after surgery, so it could be, but at 9 days post op I just wonder if you are not getting all the product rinsed out of your hair. Sometimes we are not as careful as we should be while we are sore. Also, I have had the experience of using the same shampoo and conditioner for a long time and it was great until suddenly one day it started building up in my hair really bad and I needed to switch to something else. So it might also be a coincidence. My best advice would be to shampoo your roots again, and if it happens again switch products.

Stay away from the grocery store!
sounds more like psychosomatic food cravings, rather than true hunger.

Should I be worried? Is this a sign of something bad?
Can you post a picture? I'm having a hard time visualizing.

Almost a year out, getting complacent!
152 pounds is fantastic. As for being complacent, I can understand that because probably for most of this year you have been at it pretty hard. Sometimes I think its important to know when to take a break. Maybe you need to take three months and focus on something else while maintaining. If you do this, you need to make sure to continue to weigh in because gaining weight is really REALLY something you do NOT want to do. Clearly, you still have weight to lose, and you can't lose sight of that, whatever you do.

Yeast infection or UTI?
I got a UTI right after surgery for some reason, and sex can bring them on too if a spec of something gets mushed up there at just the right angle. More than likely you were not given an STD but you are right to get checked anyway. With yeast infections you are usually going to see something. I have actually never had one but from nursing school I guess there is usually a whitish discharge. Pain with peeing and stuff is usually a UTI BUT you said it hurt when you wiped, and I dont know if you mean all over or just your urinary tract.

Kind of envying some people who don't have to do a liquid pre-op
Oh gawd, me too. My pre-op diet was hellish, and then on top of that I was forced to do a bowel prep that was more extreme than anything else I have read about on this site. But looking back, now that I am 6 weeks post op, the pre-op diet really helped me wrap my mind around what I was doing. It got me ready for what was about to come, and there was something sort of traumatic about it but not in a bad way that sort of changed my mindset and got me real serious about what I was doing. Different doctors do things differently, but I think people who didn't have to do the pre-op diet might have a harder time AFTER surgery because its such a shock, and going in for surgery at your heaviest is certainly more dangerous. Any weight you can lose prior to anesthesia is only going to make you safer.

Sex
I waited exactly a week, the day I got the drain out was the day we tried, and all was well. I probably could have done it sooner but I was uncomfortable with the drain - i caused me issues.

Any regrets?
I dont regret anything about the surgery but I do regret pulling on my On-q pain pump before it was finished because I didn't realize how much it was really helping me till it was gone, and I also regret not having heating pads for my shoulders in the house prior to having surgery because a late night run to the pharmacy to get them 2 days post op really sucked but I needed them.

Scar treatment - My results - Photos included
I didn't do anything fancy, I just rubbed a fairly large amount (maybe 7 good drops) into the incision and really massaged it in because that helps soften it.

Hellllpppppp... I have a date Saturday!
I doubt you will be able to avoid food, no matter what you guys do, so you have a few options but let me tell you what I would do. If you are actually interested in this person I would not go out of my way to hide this. I know, its probably shocking for people to read this coming from me because I'm always miss "its no one's business" here on the forums but I feel like personal intimate (or potential intimate) relationships should be started feet firmly planted on the ground rooted in truth. You don't need to go into great detail because it IS a first date and to most people its a fairly uninteresting topic, but there is nothing wrong with saying something along the lines of wherever you guys go out to eat you need to be able to order Soup or something like that because you are recovering for surgery. I think otherwise what is going to happen is he may expect to buy you a drink, then thats ANOTHER weird situation to maneuver if you are not being upfront, so really, I would just avoid all that and let him know so an otherwise awesome date doesn't get ruined with weirdness and confusion about why you wont have this or that and why you don't want a drink.

What to tell work people
you could really tell them anything from having your tonsils out (accounts for sudden weight loss) to gallblader surgery. Anything believable is fine, and then, this one is less comfortable but there is always the option to not disclose anything, because really, you don't have too.

Height, Weight, And Size Poll
I started out at 302 pounds and a size 24 jeans, and 3x scub tops I am six weeks out and weigh 271 and I am wearing my old navy jeans in a size 18 although to be fair, they are cut a generously. Probably a true size 20. I have bigass titties though so my 2x scrub tops are still a little snug. I am 5'3

I bet Mederma would help. also keep it out of sunlight or get in the habit of running a little SPF along it. tanning and UV exposure really seems to make scars stay discolored longer

Frenemy to friend in less than 60 mins.....
Yep. Doctors are people too and I think that they try to stay up with things as best they can but they are expected to have a really WIDE knowledge base so I don't usually expect them to know the ends and outs of these pretty niche specific procedures although with the way obesity is increasing I think they would do well to be more intimatly aquainted with them but its also important to realize that your average 300 pound person off the street hasn't really done the mental work to be a great candidate for WLS. As for him commenting on bad choices in life, there are probably nicer ways to put that, but we all have to face the truth that no one ate their way to a BMI of 40 or 250+ without making bad choices on a fairly regular basis. It sucks, but thats what it is. I'm glad he was open to discuss with you about it and realize that he was mistaken about the procedure you were looking for though, that doesnt happen often.

Well, they sell it in a huge bottle and this small one that I have in the picture, that smaller one was around 7-10 dollars but I have been using it on my face and my scar for longer than a month and I havent really made a dent in it.

what do we have to do to get food commercials Banned?
Yep, I agree. We all have to take responsibility for ourselves at some point. The only way in which I differ is that I think advertising to children is unethical, and in many countries targeting children with advertisement is not legal for that reason. Children have no ability to discern when they are being advertised too, and I believe it was stated that children under the age of 6 or 7 cannot always discern between commercial advertisements and regular children's programming. So thats my only exception, as for adults.... we are going to have to learn to suck it up. It bothers me too, so I do other things with my time besides watch TV.

very disappointed
yeah, are you having real physical hunger or is it a head thing that you want to eat? Because if you are physically hungry the more dense things you have the better off you will be.

When can I eat "real" food!?
popcorn wont be for a while but I am wondering why you dont know this information? Did your doctor not tell you when and how to progress your diet?
-
I cant face any more blended food
Yikes, I have to say, I sort of dont blame you. I was sleeved on the same days as you but I have been on normal food for a while.

So Hurtful
Ugh, my husband did this once and it really set me off in a foul mood. It was a one time thing though, we are having some external stressors right now so I don't hold it against him, for the most part he is a sweety and we are good for each other. I think you have to ask yourself basically the same thing. You said you guys argue but is it usually serious where you end up hurt or is it more minor things? If these people are truely causing you stress on a regular basis it might be time to pull away from them for a while. You have to get your mind right, and if you are being berated and told to "go eat" to me thats a sign that they see you as some kind of junkie who can't be pleasant without your vice, like the drunk who clearly has a problem but everyone lets it go because he's the life of the party.

what is the best birth control method
regaining after a slipped band is extremely common. When I had mine slip on me I had been SO SICK that suddenly, when I could eat, I would eat, and I would eat a LOT.
