When we first got married my husband commented that he hates when people call each other dear so from that day on I've always called him Elk.... lol, to each his own I guess ;D

Lol. I think they help us heal. He goes on all my walks with me. Even when I don't have anyone to walk with, I can always count on him.

Everyone is asking me if I'm excited. I am, but there's some serious trepidation. I have a son with MD who depends on me. I had to tell his dad that he had to do better if something were to happen to me. I don't want to jinx it, just want to make sure things are in order. Still have so much to do tonight.

I would try some warm liquids, de-caf tea/soup and see if they go down easier. Your stomach is swollen, the heat may help. I also used a heating pad and took tylenol (crushed or liquid) that seemed to help so much more than the pain medication I was prescribed.
Good luck, it will get better over the next few days.

I live by teas and tisanes (herbal teas). My sleeve hates plain Water and hates anything cold.

Thanks. I bought caffeine free bigelow assortment. I think I'll try warm or lukewarm and see if that helps

I am so empathetic! I think everything you are feeling is normal.
Here are my words of encouragement - none of that makes a difference when all your friends start calling you hottie.
Also, you are focused on the near term issues ( pain which frankly isn't that bad) and risk of leaks or dying (could happen but MOST people recover just fine even if they had a complication). The real challenge of this journey is the one you are going through - the head/mental/emotional side and that part of the rollercoaster goes on for quite awhile.
My advice through all of this - keep your eye on the prize. Learn what you need to learn to ensure you will make your personal goals. Be kind to yourself and realize that you won't be perfect but that doesn't mean you have to fail. You may have ups and downs, but when going through the rough Patches just remember how important this is - to get to a healthy weight where you can fully live your life.

I start my pre op diet on 12/26 also. I know the big picture is so worth it but I can't help but think I can't stick to a diet normally how can I stick to something so strict. I think through this journey I need to find faith in myself. I am so strong in so many ways but my weight has a hold on me. I look forward to breaking free.
