  1. I just cant and wont understand how people can come on hear and say they dont lie. No one and I mean no one is perfect! I told everyone I had the surgery. I have nothing to hide, what you see and hear from me is what you get! Im no means a perfect person even though my husband and children think I am.
  2. You know what bothers me about this thread? Someone actualy posting that they dont lie. That is a crap load of ****. No one is perfect, who ever you think your maker is did not make a robot they made you human just like the rest of us!
  3. You can always say you went to a (fat camp) and you met the love of your life and lost 15lbs having sex for the last 21 days.lmbo. People take time off everyday for some reason or another. Either for vacation or you decided to finaly use your sick days that you have built up forever. Like I said earlier, you need the time for you thats all they need to know. The plus if they notice you have lost weight tell them thats what happens when you finaly get the chance to take care of yourself.
  4. Ok this thread has alot of hypocrits(sp) posting. First no one on here can say they have never lied. And if you say you dont your telling a lie. I understand about telling the truth because most of us could careless how people concieve how we took a very big step in making sure we have a future. If you have to lie then lie, thats it. I just hope one day for the ones who want to keep it a secret will tell others that way more people will get to see how truely amazing this surgery is and how it saved your life. And maybe it just might save someone elses. What ever you choose that is your decision and be proud of it.
  5. My advice you can take it or leave it. Tell them you took a 3 week vacation to find yourself and exactly what this life meant and means to you. Thay youhad a calling from a higher place that told you that you needed to get your sh*t together and you decided to listen.
  6. It lasted me for a couple of months. Sometimes it depends what the smell is as of today. Like when Im cookingthe smells make me sick to my stomach or if someone else is cooking it does the same thing. I use to love Scentsy waxes (the ones you heat up to make your home smell nice ) now they are to strong.
  7. Dont be to hard on yourself, its not your fault. That is exactly why we pay our doctors and dieticians to tell us what exactly we are subpose to take and how to take it. We all just need to remember they work for us not us for them and darn it they need to do thier jobs!
  8. Congratulations! You will do great.
  9. Have either of you had your gallbladder removed? I became like tjat after gallbladder removal in 1991. Finally after my VSG it stoped. Also that sounds like a side effect of Crohns disease. Talk to surgeon they have all the answers. Good luck to you both.
  10. Ok this is how it is dang it. I was and am and always be a Dr.Pepper and Coke Cola addict!!! All of you out there who thinks its gonna be ok to have a sip and not go back to it again you are wrong. Its like any addiction whether it be certain foods, sodas, alcohol, illeagal drugs, prescription medicine, pornography or anything else that you have withdrawls from. You need to really look inside yourself and be honest! Dont lie! Ask yourself am I addicted and will my world end if I do not have this soda ( or what ever it is). I know I an addict. I got this way because of sodas. A 12 pack a day or more. And no they were not diet, matter of fact diet are worse for you. Good luck and realize who is going to win this battle? You or the sodas( or whatever your addiction is) I ve been there and Im still here fighting.
  11. For me, right after surgery I could smell everything like a 1000 times stronger. One nurse came in with some perfume on and I started getting more nauseaous(sp) and bad headache. I could smell everything even a mint my husband had finshed 30 minutes earlier before he came in the room. Also when they cleaned the restroom it made me so ill. It was bad.
  12. Great question. I would like to find out to. Also why does our sense of smell become sooo much stronger.
  13. I keep that thought in my head about if I dont succeed with the VSG. I probably will have it done if its meant to be. Have you gone back and start over again like right after you became post op? Did you eat around you sleeve and the bad eating habits came back? I know and understand thislifestyle change has been hard, especially after eating the way you have for so many years. I wish you great success and please keep us up todate on your decision. Like the saying goes you always cant teach dogs new tricks. And some folks are juat stuck in their old ways. Im afraid I might be one of them also.
  14. If anyone can sew, cut them up and make patch quilts out of them. Give them as gifts to someone you care about. I have alot of tshirts with different logos and made two and gave it to my daughters.
  15. To both of the ladies having a problem eating and drinking, have you tried sf popsicles, pudding w/protein powder in it or propel water, cottage cheese or maybe mashed potatos w/ gravy? The reason your so tired and weak is because of your protein intake. Are you taking your vitamins and the B12? I hope both of you can find some kind of relief from the feelings your having. Open your curtains and let the sunshine in or take in some fresh air. Find something that you enjoy to do, dont let depression keep you down from an experiance that is gonna change your life for the better. Its all going to be ok, it just takes a little time.
  16. I believe sometimes we forget that our bodies are temples. We abuse them in so many ways. We stuff our faces and gain weight not taking in consideration how our bodies feel about this. It takes alot for an obese person to stand up and say I cant do this to my body anymore. That is why I see everyone of us as a hero to ourselves. We are saving the life of our bodies. We need to stand up and be proud that we are doing something that even skinny people cant do. I wish everyone great success. I am proud of myself and each and everyone who took a stand to protect one of their greatest assets( your temple)
  17. While reading these comments it occured to me why and who taught these people to be the way they are. Their parents and peers. I dont ever think us overweight people will ever be accepted in society. It took decades for people of color, gays and lesbians and even women to be finally treated equal. As for us I pray in my lifetime that maybe just maybe we will be accepted.
