  1. Well my Dr said concentrate on fluids and take cold products without NSAIDS. So I got cough syrup and Tylenol and G2 and went to bed yesterday and today and I'm just waiting for this to pass but I feel awful. And although the garlic might work I could nevr keep it down! Thank you though for the caring. now I'm back to bed
  2. I have a cold with constant sneezing and coughing. What are you allowed to take for it? What did your Doctors say?
  3. The two week stall early seems to be normal I had it at two weeks and it lasted two weeks then bam it started coming off again. I eat 900-1200 a day with extra fluids. Starving yourself will only tell your body to hold onto fat but giving your body fuel burns it off. I was sleeved 01-09-13 started at 270 day of surgery lost 20 first two weeks nothing for the next two weeks then 6 in my fifth week so far. Mr Dr recommends 1000-1200 with some multigrain bread like half a piece or six multigrain crackers a day and it works for me.
  4. I was cold until I upped my calories from 6-700 to 900- 1200 . I was stalled for two weeks increased my calories and fluid and started losing again. It may not work for everyone but it did for me. Now I'm not cold anymore.
  5. Jan 9th DOS down 27 lbs as of today!! I'm really happy only 5 weeks out.
  6. I was Jan 9 too. I was 270 to start and 245 today. I had a two week stall but now I'm losing again.
  7. I'm 52 and four weeks out and still tired. But I feel great just tired.
  8. Jan 09-13 I feel great 25 lbs gone and no problems.
  9. Sorry you have to go through that. Hang in there it will get better.
  10. I lost 20 lbs in the first two weeks then nothing for two weeks and now I'm losing again! Be Patient and hang in there. It works in weird ways but it will start up again.
  11. I was sleeved Jan 9th 2013 . Pre op I lost 20 lbs then two weeks after surgery I lost 20 lbs then stayed in a stall until yesterday now I am 22 lbs lighter. My stall was two weeks I just ignored it and increased liquids.
  12. I respect everyone's right to tell or not tell. It is my opinion that anything I keep secret holds power over me and the risk of exposure is so much worse than just telling the truth. I don't put it on Facebook but I tell anyone who asks how I lost the weight . I also share it with people who wait on me or need to know. I told all my family and friends. I figure I might help someone else who needs to ask questions. As far as in laws go I had terrible in laws for 18 years. They put me down all the time but I never backed down. I'd say my peace and hold my ground. I will not tolerate anyone treating me badly and if they do I ask them why and confront them usually they don't realise it or are uncomfortable and stop it . If it continues don't see them and don't let your kids. Demand respect. Demand your husband to support you. Life is too short to feel bad. Life is too short to not be respected and loved. No one is better than anyone else it is the choices we make that determine the quality of life we lead. For gods sake it is a medical procedure to help aid us to lose weight not a fix and we still have to work on it everyday. to me this is part of my plan to be healthier that's all. F those people who can't see your worth they are insecure themselves and petty and are to be pitied. Eventually you can laugh to yourself about how immature people are knowing their opinion doesn't effect you you are excellent at any weight in every way.
  13. I understand and yes wherever you gain weight you will lose weight. I lost 85 lbs seven years ago and I did lose there and everywhere . Some people have more fat there than others. Even when I'm thinner I have more fat than some women there. Embrace your shape. It will change a lot I'm sure.
  14. I lost 20 lbs in two weeks then nothing since almost two weeks!
  15. Thanks I feel like people think I eat too much but since I'm active I need 1000-1200 calories a day and my DR says that is what I need. Staying on 500-800 calories a day for months just doesn't seem healthy. I will lose slower to be healthier because that is why I had this surgery to be healthy.
  16. I was sleeved Jan 9 too and twice in the last week I got sick but I think I ate too much too fast. When I feel that way I back up and do a softer diet day of pureed consistency foods and then I feel better. I eat 1000-1200 calories a day and am losing. 22 so far post op. How about you?
  17. I was sleeved Jan 9 th and I've lost 22 lbs. I eat between 900-1200 calories a day. I have no weakness and am losing weight. I can eat most anything in soft foods. I ate one piece of whole grain bread (100 calories 7 grams protein) with one egg for breakfast and tuna or chicken salad with crackers for lunch , a Greek yogurt for snack , cottage cheese for dinner. I feel great. I am doing a mile a day on the treadmill. I love my sleeve!
  18. You are beautiful at any weight. Please don't listen to people who lose more weight or faster. You are doing an excellent job. Believe in yourself and know that what ever weight you are at your wedding will be fine and so much better than before you started. Learn to love the process and yourself. Our bodies, genes, metabolism etc are all different. Just look at the fact that you've lost 96 lbs. That is excellent. I still have 100 lbs to lose but I don't mind losing slow. My skin will go back better and my hair won't fall out! I'm really proud of your successes. Keep up the good work. Write me anytime you need to talk!
  19. I takes to my DR and nut and at one month they said I should be eating 1200-1400 calories. He said your body needs those calories for safe weight loss. I'm eating 1000-1200 and losing so I like where I am at. I don't want to lose muscles.
  20. I am large boned and my thin weight is about 150-160. I race walk one mile a day now but two years ago I was doing six miles a day and have most of my life so although I'm fat around my middle my legs are muscular. At 1000 calories a day on Nutrisystem I lost 3-4 lbs a week. The Dr says 1000-1200 is a good pace for maintenance. If I'm really active and walk off at least 100 calories a day I'm really consuming 900- I'm in this for the long haul and I get hungry. I will talk to My nutritionist tomorrow and ask her. Thanks for the info.
  21. I was sleeved 01-09-13. I lost 20 lbs in two weeks then one lb yesterday. How many calories are you all eating?
