I think it's highly likely that you don't understand what the word hypocritical means, because there is nothing even remotely hypocritical about what I said.
The fact that my employer negotiated a policy for their employees that provides WLS approval without requiring them to jump through hoops in no way detracts from the fact that the insurance companies exist solely to make a profit and care more about that than the people they cover.

92 pounds so far, should break the century mark by the end of the month!

And even better... Just talked to the doc and I can discontinue my Amlodipine AND Metformin!

It's very much a "Just Do It" thing for me too. I don't look forward to it, I don't like it when I'm there, I don't like the extra laundry, I don't like losing an hour out of every day, but I still go 5 days a week. Every Week. No exceptions.
I doubt I'll ever like going to the gym, but I DO like what it's doing for me. 91 pounds down, off my BP meds, blood sugar back into normal ranges, energy is up and my clothes sizes keep on getting smaller. That's why I keep going.

I have BCBS PPO (Massachusetts) and was approved the same week my surgeon's office submitted the paperwork. No medically supervised diet was required.
