  1. Anybody in this April group that don't have dumping episode or thrown up or felt nauseated? I've never dumped and afraid i'm not going to be a dumper. My Dr. told me today that only 10% of rny patients "don't" dump. I always thought the stats were much higher like 50/50??? Tell me what you experience and what you've been told about dumping.
  2. How long after your surgery did you have your gallbladder removed? I spoke with my mother tonight and she had gallbladder trouble when she was younger. She said a gallbladder attack is the worse pain she ever felt. I sure don't want to go there and i guess i'll have to put my big girl panties on and just get it out. Hopefully i can get in for that scan next week.
  3. Went to my post op appt. today and told the Doc about the mild right side pain that radiates to my back after i eat a meal. He wants to scan my gallbladder. Oh please...don't let it be gallbladder. I can't bear the thought of another surgery this soon out.
  4. I was on liquids for four days and then it was soft foods. Never had a puree stage. Never thrown up, dumped or felt nauseated. I do notice when i eat too fast and over fill my pouch my right side and back hurt.
  5. I just signed up with My Fitness Pal....My name over there is RNYBeth. Feel free to add me.
  6. WoooHoooo!!!!...that is great!
  7. Well, today was terrible! I started off with my protein shake.....then went out shopping and pulled in Taco Bell and got me a bowl of refried beans with salsa and cheese. Ate it all...then tonight i had a Smart Ones frozen dinner, Salisbury steak with mac and cheese. I also ate all of that!!! Almost 900 calories today!!!...So upset with myself! This was definitely a head hunger day and i gave in Only thing good about today, was that i did get in my protein.
  8. That's awesome! You are doing much better than me staying off the scale. I step on it every time i go to the bathroom :/
  9. I get my powdered protein at walmart...Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein. Vanilla imo is the best. It's almost a 2 lb tub for $15.00.
  10. Kelly....i would go in and see your doctor. Something is not right and you may have a stricture. Hang in there sweetie, it has to get better for you. Prayers your way!
  11. It gets better, I promise
  12. Came across this picture my hubby took of my belly right after my second surgery...(5 days after RNY)....OMG...i was so miserable. My belly was so tight and swollen! Yes, i was definitely second guessing my decision...but now, I have no regrets
  13. It is so weird...I too find that I'm craving things now that I would never eat before surgery! And they are actually healthy things...LOL
  14. How much do the Flinestones vitamins cost?
  15. Before surgery i bought three big bottles of VitaCost Calcium citrate chewable! They are so nasty! What are you taking?
  16. I like my chewable multi vitamin and my b12...It's the calcium citrate chewables that have me gagging! I got some unflavored Ucal-d calcium citrate powder to put in my protein shake...but still have to chew two of these nasty things a day to get in the 1000 mg my nut wants me to get.
  17. After a month, i'm pretty much cleared to try anything. My nut just really wants me to make sure i get in my protein and choose low carb stuff. No mention of calories or fat amounts. I've been at a 2.5 week stall...but i got on the scale today and looks like i dropped another pound. How many calories are all you April post ops getting a day. I average between 550 and 750. So strange to me and can't understand why the weight is not coming off quicker :/
  18. I had half of a Healty Choice frozen dinner. Sun dried tomato chicken. I'm a night owl and will probably finish the other half later tonight.
  19. I use Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein from Walmart. I mix it with skim milk to get a total of 34 grams of protein per 8 oz. I tried the Chocolate and burned out on it real quick. Vanilla is the best. My nut said it was a good choice....so glad, cause it's cheap too I mix it up and just keep it in the fridge and just take sips of it through out the day.
  20. Tonight i had 4 saltine crackers with tuna fish mixed with a little mayo. Measured out to about 2.5 ounces.
  21. Blah...can't imagine having to deal with Aunt Flo while trying to recover from RNY. I had my uterus removed in 2008 and so glad!!!
  22. That is horrible KellBell and Krystal!...I agree...ya'll deserve better than that. My husband has been great and I could not imagine not having his support! Do ya'll have a weight loss surgery group in your area for moral support?
  23. I'm 4 weeks out today and for the past few days I've been laying on my stomach but not comfortable enough to sleep. I think i could of done it earlier, but i had to have emergency hernia repair 5 days after surgery and there's still a bunch of tightness from the mesh they used.
