  1. Fantastic article Dorian! Thanks for posting the link! Hahaha...it made me giggle a little when i read the part where he said that hair loss is a wls complication. I think i will look into adding some zinc to my diet. I guess 3 surgery's in 3 months was quite a shock on my system...along with the little bit of weight loss ...still hanging in there though.
  2. Hair is falling out like crazy! Has anyone been told why we lose hair? I've done low calorie before wls and never lost hair like this! I'm getting all my protein, vitamins and taking biotin also.
  3. I had some cake and ice cream yesterday and did not dump. I have never dumped and it's got me feeling really sad that i can eat the junk
  4. I could care less if i lose them...they are just annoying
  5. I always felt hungry too right after surgery. Turns out it was stomach acid that made my pouch feel hungry. The acid caused an ulcer that i'm being treated for now. Try an over the counter acid reducer and see if that helps the hunger pains.
  6. I use the vanilla! Got burned out on chocolate real quick.
  7. Thanks!...That's what I'll do too Do y'all take any extra iron?...or do these Flintstones have enough?
  8. Thinking about switching up and start using Flintstones chewables with iron. How many are we supposed to take a day?
  9. The hair loss has begun! If i keep losing it at this rate, I will be bald in one month!!!
  10. It's amazing how a little weight loss can help our joints. I noticed my hips felt better after a 15 lb loss. Hoping you get your surgery date real soon!
  11. Rest up today and drink lots of fluids. Feel better soon
  12. Looking fabulous Dorian!
  13. I keep a open can in the fridge and wait for it to go flat.. I take a few sips throughout the day. I also was addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper before surgery. You will be surprised how you will not want something if it hurts your pouch. Good Luck
  14. Stupid me got on the scale this morning and gained 6 pounds of fluid (It better be freaking fluid!)
  15. Thanks so much...Yes, that is what it is, Carafate. Hope you are doing better as well ...I woke up pretty sore today, so just taking it easy and resting.
  16. I only told people i completely trust not to blab it to the whole world. I don't need negative vibes from people who may not be supportive. You take a chance if you want to keep it a secret and tell a few people. My mom, my husband and my girls are the only people I feel needed to know. I don't work outside the home so it's easier for me to keep it a secret.
  17. Thank you so much! I do feel "fixed" now. Hubby and i were talking about dusting off the bicycles and start riding again...Can't wait, I love riding and haven't felt like doing much of nothing since RNY surgery. Time to re-focus and get my pouch working for me instead of against me. I swear...the last few months have been crazy. If i ate something my gallbladder would act up, If i didn't eat this ulcer would hurt. Could not win either way. Thankful to my Dr. for knowing how to make it better. I'm definitely going to give him a big hug next time i see him! probably a kiss too!!!
  18. The pain meds are wonderful...in lala land right now. My hubby said the Dr. told him my gallbladder was fused to my liver and he had to burn it off....Oh my Wow, and to think i was second guessing getting it out! Thanks to all of you for your encouraging words and advice. I really love this group <3
  19. Good Day! Gallbladder is out and i'm feeling great!!! I love my Doctor!!!...Told him about the waves of pouch pain I get when my pouch is empty and he said sounds like a ulcer. He gave me acid reducer and some liquid that starts with a "C"....Maybe I can start losing again since i'm not always putting something in my pouch to make it feel better. Woohooo...so glad this is over and my empty pouch does not even hurt now..Good day all around
  20. I've only lost 32 lbs since surgery April 22. It blows my mind when i see those who have lost 50 - 70 lbs already. Gallbladder surgery is at 1:00 pm today.
  21. Yeah, i figure this is probably the calm before the storm. Surgery is going as planned
  22. Getting my gallbladder removed Friday. I have not had pain the last two weeks. Kinda makes me second guess getting it out now???
  23. Please keep us updated nursemissy....Hope they find out what the problem is.
  24. I still do the chewables. I pretend they are my candy...LOL
  25. Glad he gave you clearance. You will get pre-op testing done a few days before surgery to make sure you are good to go. That should include a ekg and blood work.
