  1. I am not sure regret is the word I would use to describe my journey... I was sleeved 1/21. SO excited about my journey, did everything by the book!! Felt little restriction and questioned that but I had to deal with what I was dealt. Began walking, then was in a stall so I started running/walking, still stalled so I began running which I built up and was averaging 10-15 miles a week. I became obsessed with my weight. Journaling, weighing several times a day, graphing caloric intake verses calories burned. After 10 weeks of people telling me be patient you will lose, you have a low BMI, you are in a stall, gave my Nutritionist MFP username and she replied I was doing a great job and to keep up the great work! I had my follow up appointment with my doctor and the office nurse. The doctor came in and was floored that I had only lost 4 pounds in 10 weeks, yes 4 pounds! I felt like he insinuated I was sitting home eating Bon-bons this whole time. I explained my food journal, exercise routine, and FRUSTRATION!! He wanted me to have tests done to see if I stretched my stomach! Then I met with the nurse. She reviewed my bloodwork with me and I was very deficient in vitamin D and she wanted me to see an endocrinologist. I saw my endocrinologist last Friday and found out my thyroid STOPPED! Just stopped! I am now on thyroid meds. Hoping this helps because I just can't fathom that I have worked so hard and that this surgery isn't working! Is my body really that screwed up?? Has anyone else here had their thyroid stop after surgery? So right now, yes I am disappointed in the results I am getting from surgery. Any advice or similar stories I would really appreciate!!

    Pre-Op Cortisol Urine Test

Hi, wondering how you ever made out with your cortisol levels?? I had surgery on 1/21 and have only lost 12 pounds. They found a growth on my adrenal gland and I see the endocrinologist tomorrow because something definitely is going on. I have given 110% with this surgery and have really lost all hope. I run 10-15 miles a week and still nothing. Hoping I get some answers tomorrow.

    To much protein?

  5. My bmi is 31 but I have plenty I fat to lose. I envy you for taking control of your weight at 28, I'm 40. I started walking early out and am now running about 2-3 miles a day!! I am so proud of that accomplishment! But so frustrated with my weight loss!!
  6. Yeah! Someone like me!! My surgery date was 1/21 and I've lost 12 pounds!! I just don't get this!!

    Sleeved December 2012?

Your all doing great but I'm the winner of SLOW! Surgery date 1/21 and I am only down 12 pounds... Ready to give up! Is my body that screwed up that this isn't working??
  8. I actually take turkey pepperoni and put 17 slices on a paper towel and put them in the microwave for 1 minute. They taste like chips! Love them!!
  9. I'm 8 weeks out today and I've lost 12 pounds post-op... Your doing fantastic!! Keep up the good work!!
  10. OH THANK GOD!! I love hearing that someone else was able to eat a piece of pizza! I have been able to eat a slice BUT I log it, I am making myself accountable for everything I eat. I understand people saying it is not one of the best choices you can make for food but not everyone needs to be perfect everyday!
  11. I cant begin to explain how bad i want my sleeve to work, same as most of you I'm sure! I am a low BMI'r and found out prior to my surgery that I was a diabetic and they wanted me to start on insulin. I said no give me a chance to manage it with diet. I lost 30 pounds before my surgery. Since I was sleeved I have only lost 10-14 pounds it fluctuates. So I start walking because that is what I'm supposed to do right? I get up to 2 miles a day... Still no weight loss so I start walking/running 2 miles a day, still nothing. I then get up to running 2-4 miles 5 days a week and NOTHING!! I log using MFP everything I eat and drink good or bad. I sent it to my nurse and she said I was doing everything right and for me to keep up the good work that the weight will start to come off. I keep hearing its a stall be patient the weight will come off. I am now obsessed. Which has turned into depression. I actually keep a spreadsheet of my daily weigh ins hoping i would find a pattern. The only thing the nurse did say was if I was running to increase my carbs to about 100 a day, I never did. I have been going deeper and deeper into depression over all of this. So about 2-3 weeks ago I got done running and all of a sudden I smelled ammonia.. I didn't stink but my sweat smelled like strong ammonia. It has been going on since then. 2 days ago I decided to google it. Long story short... Since I never increased my carbs every time I was exercising I basically was shutting my body down because I was out of energy and the ammonia smell was a sign I was burning my muscles/amino acids. I'm so worn down I went to bed yesterday at 6pm and never woke up till 10am this morning... So my words of wisdom that I've learned the hard way is when you start to exercise increase your carbs!! I'm hoping my weight loss will start someday soon!!

    Losing too fast?

I do have the fitbit scale that syncs with my phone. It's just another sign of my obsession!

    Losing too fast?

What Is the body analyzer like? I am at a 6 week stall gave my nurse MFP username and password and she said I'm doing a great job. So they are having me come in to sit with her and the dr. to figure out what's going on. I've only lost 14 pounds since surgery. I think my body is broken... I'm ready to melt...
