maharet111 got a reaction from aroundhky in big veins tonight
I am glad you gave up the stuff! I definitely admire and respect your spirit to be the best and I have learned SOOOO much from you and Butter, Around, Mark! etc., that I think it is safe to say we want you around for the long run. I mean who else is going to get why I am pumped about increasing weights on Deadlifts?!?!!
Not to mention that crap probably shrinks your man parts..yes I did go there..thought we could all use a laugh

I am really unsure of what you are alluding to. I went back and looked at locked posts and they were all around the same thing..not making fun of other members which included some specific items like language, duplicate posts etc. So what other offensive behavior has been allowed?
If you want to talk about offensive behavior...then ya'll's chat room conversations which routinely deal with sex, masturbation and I believe an anal posting if I saw that correctly today I would call offensive. I have however learned how to leave chat..so it is the same concept..don't read it if it offends you.

maharet111 got a reaction from Fair2bslimLady in Share your "slow loss" success!
Once I accepted that I wasn't going to lose 120 pounds in 5 months, I actually started feeling much better! Remember..it is just a number, take pleasure in the other little things that the 1 to 2 pound a month or a week or whatever it is loss allows you. Such as..fitting on a ride, crossing your legs, shopping in a regular size store.
For me..I just got my bloodwork back for my 6 month anniversary and for the first time in at least 10 years..my Lipid panel is completely normal!!! I was so pumped..no drugs, no lecture from the doctor lol, just plain exercise and diet. I have reduced my risk of heart disease and a whole host of future complications. I revel in that despite the fact that I didn't lose a pound in July. It is all perspective and we all know I am not a fan of being a slave to the scale! Now if my scale looked like Hugh Jackman, that might a different story

So true! There are so many vets, even, that spend their time beating themselves up over just a few pounds left to goal, too. We get this number goal in our head and we set no other criteria for ourselves so we only consider ourselves successful once we reach that point. There are so many overwhelming benefits to the weight I've lost, even if I'm incredibly annoyed that I can't seem to get back to goal weight. I'm so guilty of this - being hung up on the number, on the daily losses - and completely overlooking the huge changes in my body and lifestyle.
It's far more important that I'm no longer diabetic and that I don't have high blood pressure than it is that I can't seem to shake the last 7-8 pounds I'd like to lose. Perspective matters.
I needed this reminder today, so thanks for sharing.

maharet111 reacted to Peronella in $500 non-refundable fee ???? Are you kidding?
I had a $600 non refundable fee. I think, personally, it is reasonable. But, I was a self-pay patient and think every cent I paid was worth it.

I recently had chocolate covered bacon for the first time (gotta love those flea market food kiosks). It tastes just like it sounds.....only better.

maharet111 got a reaction from Fiddleman in big veins tonight
I have this in my hands too, and I can see/feel a vein on the side of my head in my hairline. I am usually not bothered by the changes happening to me but this one makes me pretty self conscious.

For all you folks who liked the "good poke" comment, I knew it was going to strike a big humour vein (ha!), depending on interpretation. Thanks for sharing in my little attempt at a joke.

I also really hate pushups. I am still modifying it by using a bar setup and we do go lower each time, but damn..I am struggling by like that 7th or 8th rep.
However, I noticed the other day that I am getting that like nice bump of muscle on the top of my arm. Now if the bottom bat wing would just drop off it would look like Fiddle's arms
