    THREE MONTH FOLLOW UP:
Had my 3 1/2 month follow up with the surgeon yesterday. They were happy with my weight loss (61.2 lbs), my body fat % is down 4%, and my labs looked great - cbc, cmp, and a million Vitamins. My D was a little low but it was twice as high as it was pre surgery!
I do have to start taking thyroid medicine now though :-/ - she said she was surprised i had the weight loss that i did with my hypothyroidism. Oh well.
Heres the kicker - my vitamins levels were great, but im not taking vitamins. Im getting everything i need from food! Yay!

I was sleeved 12/17/2012. I am down 72 pounds. Never thought I would even lose this much weight and its still coming off slowly but surely. It has been such an amazing experience. I am not a prisoner to food anymore. Such an amazing feeling.

Has anyone gone back to the liquid diet to kick start things again? I've been stalled for awhile. I've increased my calories, Water, Protein and exercise but nothing seems to work.

I'm 23lbs until I reach my doctors goal of 170 and 43lbs from my personal goal of 150. It seems like it took forever to get this far but I guess in reality it's only been 3.5 months...lol.

Happy Easter to everyone and today's officially my three month mark!
    HW: 303
    Surgery: 12/31/2012
    SW: 297
    CW: 248
Total Down: 55lbs (49 since surgery)
    First month: 31lbs
    Second month: 11 lbs
    Third month: 13 lbs
During my first month I stalled for about 9 days - Raised my calories from 7-800 up to 900-1100 - I've been losing a steady 2-3 lbs a week with ZERO stalls since. So those of you in a stall or stalling - DO NOT be afraid to increase your calories a little. YOU WILL NOT GAIN. If you do it now instead of once you reach your goal you won't anyway. Once your metabolism gets set to 800 calories a day - once you can hold more and increase your calories - you will gain. I plan on stepping up to 1300 or so here soon. I don't want to shut my body down to a snail's crawl. Hope this helps.

just wanted to share a non scale victory moment with you guys...
I love taking bubble baths... when my world slows down and I can take a moment...
usually once the bath is over... and I unplug the tub... all the Water in front of me goes out... when I get up there is more water behind me...
when I stood up to get out the bath tonight... there was NO WATER! I didn't dam up the tub!!
weird I know... but it felt good!

I went to my 3 month post op last week and I am down 47% of my excess body weight (they like to see 30% at 3 months out). Yesterday I was able to ride with my kids on the rides at the amusement park with no issues and last week I made it into ONEderland. I went from a size 26w to a 14. I'm stoaked!

I don't really have anything set as far as a daily diet. I usually have 1 Protein Shake a day, a Protein Bar, baby bell cheese, beef jerk, lunch meat. I drink about 50oz of Water a day and 8oz of 2% milk (I refuse to switch to skim...lol). I try and eat every 2-3 hours even if I'm not hungry.
In the beginning I exercised daily, walking 2 miles a day. Nothing crazy 2-3mph, but I haven't been on the treadmill in 3 weeks and I'm still losing.
    Starting weight was 265lb.

People are stupid sometimes. If you stay in starvation mode gues what... that's what'll happen. You'll start starving and your body will shut down to preserve itself. If you bump your calories for a few days you'll lose again. I see nothing wrong with eating 1000-1200 calories a day. Guess what - if we could have limited ourselves to 1200 calories a day BEFORE surgery WE WOULD HAVE LOST A TON OF WEIGHT!!! There's no rule that says just because our stomachs are smaller we have to stay at 800 calories or less a day... that's why they don't really GIVE you a calorie limit. You need calories or else your metabolism will move at a snail's pace. I'm trying to keep from shutting my metabolism down completely. That's just me though

DanaL reacted to EweLewz in An honest question. Why are we here?
An outsider would look at most of us and assume we are all over-eaters. Although many of us fall into that category, I thought a little self reflection could help us correct some of the things we all do collectively that made the "sleeve" procedure our best option. Speaking strictly for myself, this is how it happened to me:
    1. I am a computer technician. I sit behind a keyboard eight hours a day. At night, I am a student. The only physical exercise I get is lifting my coffee cup, or walking to the kitchen to make a sandwich.
    2. I have Asthma, so working out is out of the question. I bought bicycles for my wife and I to get a little exercise, but it's hard to pedal for any distance when you are having trouble breathing.
    3. I eat the most at night, the worst possible time. I never learned to take a few minutes out of each day for myself.
    4. I eat out too often. Restaurant portions are obscene, but I have no problem eating every bite.
    5. Anxiety - I take medication that is known to pack on the pounds. I made the decision years ago to be fat rather than drive myself nuts.
Thanks for taking the time to read my story. I'm certain everyone would love to here yours!
