    time off work?

I'm not even scheduled yet, I'm really just in the "thinking about it" stage. I'm 53 and wondering how I will bounce back, will I really like to eat nothing but mush. I also have a lot of anxieties about screwing up what it essentially good health so far. I don't even know if it would be covered, in which case I couldn't do it. Thanks for your reply.

    time off work?

How much time off work have you guys had to miss on average? I need to know how much time I will be off so I can schedule correctly. thanks in advance
  5. I know these posts are old, i'm in the considering it stage. How are you guys doing now?
  6. Hi, I'm new here and would like to know if this surgery is also good for an old fart like me. I'm menopausal, been fat my whole life (currently 255 and 5 ft short) and my MD asked me if I had considered lap banding. I was shocked that she mentioned it. I have no co morbidities yet, all my values are normal so far, but I am so tired of carrying around this weight. I have two active grandkids and I get exhausted after a few hours with them. Sometimes I chalk that up to age but I also know it has to be my weight.:faint: I am embarrassed that I walk so slowly, when walking with a group of people I'm always last. I have a lot of anxiety about all things surgical so I'm doing my homework. Thanks in advance!
  7. Yikes, I don't know where to start! I am just in the thinking stage of having this surgery. I am 53 years old and so far I have no co morbidities, but I am barely 5ft tall and 255 lbs. My gp actually mentioned to me if I had considered lap banding, she doesn't like the idea of the big gastric bypass. so now I'm thinking about it but I'm scared to death. I have no medical problems, no diabetes, my bp is good so are my lipid profiles but it's getting so uncomfortable to be me. I have two grandkids to run after, a full time job and a big house and garden and I can't keep up anymore with all of it. I really just want my energy back. ANyone else in the same or similar boat? How about heartburn, I seem to suffer that quite a lot. Thanks.
