Signs that my pouch is full? and other questions
Hello, So I am 12 days post op and I have a few questions, actually. First, I am still on my full liquid phase. I start purees tomorrow. 1. How to tell if my pouch is full? I'm not really sure what I feel. I do get the hiccups if I drink too much. I'm trying to "feel" whatever it is I'm supposed to, but still not quite sure. I know when I'm not hungry and I haven't pushed my pouch at all. I haven't eaten or drank anything I'm not supposed to...is this why I don't know what it is that my pouch is full 2. Can my pouch even get full on liquids? I know that food can fill it up because it takes time to digest and filter through the stoma, but do liquids work differently? Does it just kind of go right through? 3.I think I've hit a stall. It's been like 4 days since the scale has budged!!! The 2 weeks before surgery I lost 13 pounds and then the week after I lost another 10. Could this be my 3 week stall??? I'm frustrated hitting a stall only a week after surgery. 4. Is marinara sauce okay to eat on pureed stage? I made some beef stew with it, but wondering if this is good because I know it has sodium and some sugar (from the tomatoes). 5. I still have a bruised feeling in the left part of my belly near some of my incisions. Is this normal? I feel like it should be gone by now. It isn't constant, but with certain movements. It is the worst when I lift my arms over my head and stretch out my belly. I don't have a fever or anything like that. 6. I get dizzy and light headed when I bend over. And slightly out of breath? Does anyone know why this happens and when it will go away? Please help!!!

What is your post-op full liquid meal for the day like?
My approach is a little different. I take a bottle of grape frost isopure and sip that throughout the day. I then take some yogurt measure it out to about a half of a cup and add my nectar powder to it and will "eat" that a couple times of day. It is too difficult to measure out my yogurt and nectar powder etc. because it is such a small amount that I eat at a sitting. It is better for me to just know I had this amount during the whole day. I was eating watered down cream soups, but there was no protein in there so I stopped that. I have no problem drinking water throughout the day. Last night I made beef stew and drank the broth...oooooh heavenly! But yeah instead of measuring out each meal it is easier for me to just measure for the whole day and then aim to eat/drink whatever it is. And I add it into my fitness pal so I can see what the protein is etc.

I can't wait until the end of the month! When is your date set? Yellow, green as long as its not black and blue! But my bruising is almost gone so yeah skinny yellow green spoon sounds good to me. bwuahahahah

1 week post op before and after pic
This is the almighty spoon I used to shovel food into my mouth with before and now I use my two year old's spoon to eat my yogurt. It just makes me laugh. I can't wait for my body to resemble the skinny spoon! hahahaha

I haven't seen these numbers in a year!
The dr. said I can do any kind of physical exercise really that doesn't cause pain. I had my appointment today and didn't really ask. I am still not lifting things heavier than 25lbs...I don't want to mess anything up. But he said everything looks good, no infections etc.

10 days out and still not allowed purees.
Yes I'm still on my full liquid phase...and I can have runny sugar free pudding, watered down low fat cream soups...although I haven't really been eating those because they fill me up and don't have much Protein...I can also have yogurt which is really delicious. I get the low fat yogurt and mix in my nectar vanilla torte Protein powder...I eat about a half cup throughout the day...it is really yummy. I'm pretty sure you can have all that stuff too!

I haven't seen these numbers in a year!
So I am down to 289 lbs!!! I haven't been this weight since a year ago! I can't believe in the past 3 weeks I went from 311 to 289! That is crazy! I am very happy already that I have gone through with this. I have my one week appointment tomorrow and shall see what the doctor says! I haven't even really been exercising. I have been going walking once a day, but that is more for the gas pains. I still get very exhausted doing things even just my household chores. All in all, I am very happy with my progress. Those thoughts of "what the hell did I do to myself" the first days of surgery are loooooonnngg gone.

Weight loss for 300+ sleevers!
Hey I'm 5'5" to 5'6" depending on how I stand. I started at 311lbs...got down to 298 on my 2 week pre-op diet...I had surgery on January 30th, 2013 and am now 291lbs. I'm not sure if all the swelling has gone down (I have my one week post op appointment with the surgeon in two days). It seems I have been losing 1-2lbs a day and I am not very active at all. I go walking once a day and that is about it. I plan on picking up the pace soon.

One week post-op appointment question.
Hello everyone, I have my one week post op appointment coming up this Thursday. I was just wondering what everyone's weight loss was about a week out? My surgeon hasn't really given me any guidelines or anything and am just curious as to whether or not I am on the right path.

Sleeved Jan 30 - just home
Congrats! I was also sleeved on the 30th and mine was also uneventful! Thank Goodness. I wish everyone luck!

Post-Op Diet. I am 6 days out and I am starving. What can I eat?
hello, I am 5 days post op. I have a few times thought about something that I wanted to eat, but tried to remember that I am probably not really hungry. What helps me is I imagine actually putting that food in my mouth, chewing, and swallowing. I try to imagine how that will make me feel, and every single time it boils down to I probably will throw up. My insides are making some growling noises, but i think that is just some left over gas. I just make my liquids for the day and am always full when I think about it. It is going to take time and thought. I mean, for literally the past 11,000 days of my life I have eaten something. That is a tough habit to break. And it is a hard thought to wrap your mind around. Something you have done literally almost every day of your life, and now it is not part of your routine. Best of luck
