qdh got a reaction from IsB in I need help getting back on track
I'm not sure how much help I am because I'm pre- sleeve. The group I hope to get my sleeve through has several support groups. If you doctor has that, is that something you' 're interested in?

qdh got a reaction from toqu in Revision scheduled for12/20/12
Congrats! I hope that is my case soon. I just want the band out at this point. My doctor presented the revision idea to me today (even though I'd already been thinking about it). I don't know if I'll be approved for a revision, as I've had no erosion or slips. This band has to go!

I saw a tshirt the other day that said, "I'm silently correcting your grammar." and I thought about everyone here!! LOL

Thank you all for your input. I'm glad the sleeve is working well. Also, thanks for being honest about your experiences. I'm ready, but realize it will be a process. :-)

qdh reacted to Willow216 in First Step: Get this band out!
My first appt I was going for the Lap Band and the nurse there warned me not to, she said there are alot issues with the band, slippage, infections etc. and 9 out of 10 patients come back wanting the sleeve. So I changed my mind and I am glad I did. I have had absolutely no issues with the sleeve.
Good Luck with your revision QDH! -
qdh reacted to CowgirlJane in NSV that Ladies My Age can probably understand
I am in my late 40s, lost 130+ pounds over the last year and a really nice looking man hit on me yesterday. He was probably a couple of years younger then me, but in my age range for sure. I had to restrain myself from thanking him and giving him a kiss before sending him on his way... I did restrain myself but it made my day and then some! I was dressed conservatively, but smartly (nice black jeans, a calvin klein fitted jacket (thank you ross for less) and nice boots. It is not that I am dying to be hit on, it is more like I spent the rest of that day feeling really confident - like the way i looked, my demeanor attracted a person I considered desirable - like maybe for the first time in a very long time I am projecting the image of myself I want to project.

qdh reacted to notime in Denied, fighting depression.
Start the 6 month diet with monthly checkups with your primary care physician now. In six months, you will have met the requirement and will be on your way to being sleeved. If you don't do this, another six months will have passed and you will be no closer to your goal of being sleeved. Yes, you can self-pay, but that involves trade-offs, too. You are depressed and I have been, too. You can do this.

qdh reacted to LadyK in Super Saturday Weigh In
Hey all! Hope your week was awesome! I will not tell how many times I looked at the scale this week LOL, but I am so excited to say I'm down from 407 to 396.6! I'm finally under 400 lbs, I haven't seen 300's since high school and college! This is surreal to me!! So that is a 10lb loss and 84lbs so far, I'm so surprised because I've been able to eat more and was afraid I gained, but my clothes tell a different story, time to go shopping!!

qdh reacted to cincykat in Any Lap-Band converts here?
That sound like my story. I was banded in 2008. Had a revision in 2010 because of slippage. Around June 2012 I started having bad acid reflux, vomiting in the middle of night. Dr suggested removing all Fluid and I was a little better. We both decided to remove and get sleeved. Also my band port was in a bad position. It was hard to get fills. They had to stick me several times even while under xray machine (cant think of proper name). The dr that will be doing my sleeve did not band me. Band was removed sept 10. I will be sleeved on jan 14. My insurance approved me with no problem. Now I getting nervous. But looking foreword to losing the weight again.

I'm a newbie here, but here goes.....
I've always felt 'chubby' even at 145 in my high school days compared to all my 115lb friends. Time passed, I was a size 8/10 in my twenties, then I met my husband and have ballooned to 215! I LOVE fashion, love clothes, love to shop.....well I DID. I'm tired of dieting and never losing, I can't even call myself a yoyo dieter because I never lose! I lost 2 lbs one month and gained it back in a weekend! So this is a gift to myself....my consult is scheduled Jan 8 - I'm a self pay and I believe every penny of it will be the best money I EVER spent. I can't wait to shop again and wear heels. I'm tired of being the 'fat girl with a pretty face' - WOO that felt good to let out!!!!!!!
