  1. Ruby - You are welcome - That's what we are here for - but I would get rid of the Mango whatever juice - you just don't need those liquid calories - If you have to have taste - Crystal Lite... I found some stuff called Fusion – haven’t tried it yet.. On the exercise - I will give you a bit of advice that my Uncle Charles gave me - Slow down relax - don't make working out a chore - I was pushing myself so hard to get to the 15 minute mile - that I was wearing myself out - and you will notice I hardly brag about 4 miles anymore. My little suggestion on exercise - so it down some so that you can extend how many miles you can do - I warm up one song 3.2 level - then move up to 1 incline @ 3.5 then 3.6 - 3.7 and when a really good song like Power - or Le Freak comes on I push it to 3.9 or 4.0 for that song and then go back down to 3.7 - and then I will increase my incline to 4 and slow it down and walk to a slower song that's on my ipod. There are 2 trains of thought on this exercise thing - #1 length of time vs #2 intensity = well what the hell the difference as long as you are enjoying it you will do it longer the longer you do it the more calories you burn – it won’t become a chore cuz once it does you are going to quite – so I just do my little 3 miles and if I need to do a 18 or 17 min mile I will – if I feel strong I go for the 16 and if I am really pushing it 15 – I rock out with my Ipod – I most likely look silly – but who cares – I am enjoying myself and getting the job done So my advice slow down – enjoy yourself and walk or elipical a little longer…
  2. Kari - See thats why I say we are all alike - we think we are the only ones who have this problem we aren't... We are not alone in this battle of the buldge. Good luck on DH home 24/7
  3. Karri I would say you may not be eating enought - Also my doc allows heathly snacks and even most eating plans allow snacks - Have you ever done weight watchers - I know you are a Adtkins girl - but I think WW is a well balanced eating plan - and you can modify it to your more protein lifestyle. Also I find that when I increase my calories - the next day the scales move downwards faster. When I was on Jenny Craig - one day your calories were 1000 - then the next day 1200 - you might want to try that and you need the energy for all that exercising your are doing - you need to fuel your body and that's what food is for us now a days - fuel not our addiction...
  4. Ruby - If you got 2 pieces of meat loaf down last night I would say get a little fill - even if's only .02 of a cc. I TOTALLY understand the taste good aspect of eating - that is how I got fat - I love the taste I would keep eating after I was full - and I can and still do it now a days - you all know how it is - one more bite - then before you know it that was one bite too many.. I haven't found that I am tighter at any one part of the day. But as you all know nights are always the problem for me. Instead of having that 2nd piece of meatloaf - have more veggies - I know it's not the same - but it satisfying the eating urge with less calories - Keep healthy low calorie foods around for your snack attacks - but the food up immediately after you have eaten - this does help some out of sight out of mind (I said sometimes cuz if you know it's there and you really want it you go pick) - how many calories are you eating and are you getting your water in - I would increase your exercise by 15 min - how many miles are you getting in at 30 minutes? Do you keep it level or do an incline - I can't do the elliptical (sp) so I stick with my walking - maybe one day You might want to get it before - so you give it a chance to settle prior to your surgery - I don't really know - since this last over fill - I am only going to get tiny ones - and if I need to go back sooner so be it - but no more aggressive fills - I think just the psychology of getting a fill even if it's .02 is enough to get you back in band mode. Good Luck – to bad we don’t have the key to our bands so that at night we could lock it up and hide the key till the morning – then open it so you could eat breakfast & lunch..
  5. Good Job Silver:tongue: - positive attitude:biggrin:... Love It !!! I told you could do it.:hurray: I am staying on plan today cuz I love the way I feel, I love the power that comes from staying on plan – I love winning... And cuz it works
  6. Thanks you guys - It was a hard way to get there (this last week 4.5 lbs) but I will take it :hurray:. Once I get to 160 omg only 20 lbs to go - I may change it to 145 - I would like to have a healthy bmi and not to be considered overweight. But will see - the lastest Self magazine talks about a Happy Weight one that is maintainable even if it's a little over what is considered normal bmi... So that's what I am looking for - and till I get there and see what it's like to maintain that weight - I won't know - so in typing this I am keeping 160 - I think that just maybe my happy weight... One day at a time - one pound at at a time - our goal is to be healthy first and look good secondly.. Yep Phyl it's cool out there - but I will take it - cuz those 110 days are around the corner  - but don't know if I want to get in a pool - i bet it's hard getting out of it
  7. I would say I am passive aggressive – I don’t like confrontation – I am not good at it. so what - that's who I am - We all aren't going to be alike - we all have diff opinions - that's what makes up the world - ya you might not like how people respond to certain situations but you can not inflict your own personality on other people and expect them to behave as you would I hate people who pretend to be martyrs - or cry babies - but that's me - it takes all kinds I have a girlfriend who is a big martyr - that's her so what - she is a nice person otherwise - she has issues (who doesn't) I don't let that little part of her take away from our friendship - My 17 yr GS has this whole thing about not liking someone for whatever reason - they gotta make a big deal about it - I say if you don't like someone then don't be around them - what’s the use - they usually don't care if you like them or not If we are having a conversation I take it at face value - I'm not one to try and figure out the secret meaning of what you might be trying to say - That takes too much work - but I do think if you have a diff of opinion - you should voice it - but people don't have to get nasty about it Merely being passive-aggressive isn't a disorder but a behavior — sometimes a perfectly rational behavior, which lets you dodge unpleasant chores while avoiding confrontation. It's only pathological if it's a habitual, crippling response reflecting a pervasively pessimistic attitude.
  8. Rise and Shine It's a Beautiful Morning How is everyone this morning? I was able to drink a whole cup of coffee this morning - so I am feel pretty good - I got my caffeine - I really don't know if I like these glasses I am having to constantly move my head for things to come into focus and the computer screen looks concaved.. Well back to work I go - will ck in later - have a good day ladies,....
  9. Karri - I am suppose to redo the whole post op diet - he is crazy there is no way in H*ll i am doing another week of soup - heck my post op was 10 days liquids and heck for the first few days after surgery you really dont even want food - I'm not doing 14 days of soup... Menu for the evening down below in my response to Phyl - oh - rice vs pasta - I do pasta some times I want to try quiona (sp) it's gluten free - like pasta but has protien - it's suppose to be good for you- but I think I will only find it at trader joes OMG 2.5 hrs exercise - I got my 50 minutes in and was pooped - they didn't have the fans going and I was dripping wet (head) by the time I did my 3 miles I wish I had your energy I wish I had paid attention to my mileage - i maybe would have pushed for 1 more mile then I would have had 50 for the month - cuz hair appt tomorrow night no gym.. Haven't watch biggest loser yet - most likely in the morning - I don't know if I could take Jillian yelling at me - I would go tell her to go.... Jump in a lake to put it nicely - I know that you all think I am this super nice chick - but I can be a big B - I don't take well to people yelling at me... But I like her better than Bob - so I would take her too... but she better not yell at me:mad: Becca - Fills and bands - who and the heck knows - fickle... Phyl Congrats on 1.6 and 5 for the month :hurray:- I know it might not be as much as you want which i can totally understand - but you are losing and still enjoying life.. It's a whole lot better losing than gaining:rolleyes2: Yogurt went down fine... for dinner I had 3 oz fish which took a little bit and had a quick pb then waited slowed down and finished it and then had 1/2 cup french cut green beans- I AM ONE HAPPY LITTLE CHICKIE:tongue: i have food in my belly and am good. My fish & veggies would be almost mushies super soft - I will have soup for lunch tomorrow - and fish & veggies for dinner Ok I am off to bed - got the kitchen done - doggie duty and now the hitting the hay... Talk to ya'll in the morning - sweet dreams....
  10. Lucy Thank you so much for your kind words - As I have said a million times before - I am just a fat chick - speaking fat chick talk - We are all the same - and I want everyone free of the excess weight and the whole problems that go along with it - We all can do it - I truly beleive that. As to your original question - you can lose your band for a few reasons - slippage (can happen by not following the rules - and your dr's instructions as you heal) also from Pbing - infection - errorison which I think happens if you are too tight plus have read were taking NAISD can be a cause too but am not 100% sure (there are alot more medically smart people here who can give you the tech reason - like wasabubble butt) - Truly - in life sh*t happens even if you follow all the rules - Why does a person who doesn't smoke get lung cancer and a person who has smoked 80 yrs doesn't - I don't really dwelling on the problems & complications - cuz some things are out of our control - like getting an infection during surgery - out of your control - so why worry - I guess I am just not a worrier - I try to do the best that i can do - and that's all I can do so why worry about something that might not happen - we don't know.. Againg thanks for the props....
  11. :tt1: Yes all those Bday wishes had me smiling all day long  And today too.. You are just the greats group of women I know..
  12. Mango you are absolved (sp) it's really ok - you have me cracking up :tt1: When do you go to the doc about your hives - that has to be miserable... Hugs to you on that...
  13. Wanna - I think you may be a tad tight - our bands are very fickle things - since my aunt flo doesn't visit anymore - i can't help you with that but have read that for alot of women it cause their bands to tighten - my 2nd fill took about 2 weeks to get to it's full potential - If you can't eat regular by now I would call your doc and get a tad taken out.. My 3rd fill was too much - had .08 taken out and it seems a lot better.
  14. df877 I am sorry you have gotten off track - you are a food addict you have just had a relapse - 1st step is admitting you have a problem - now we are going to help you fix. 1st let go of being ashamed - you f'd up now you are taking responsiblity and now we move forward. First why is your appointment not till 4/08 - why not sooner - you need an appointment sooner Your band is only a tool and for that tool to work you need to have proper restriction - I do suggest that you may need a fill The majority of the work is going to be mental - you must understand that this is not a diet that you go off of - this is a lifetime lifestyle change in your eating habits - banders rules - Protein 1st minimum 60 grms - 64 oz Water - veggies - some starches - low fat & sugar free - no drinking 1/2 before or after meals - 3 meals - 2 healthy Snacks - keep your calories around 1000 -1200 - keep a food diary - or log your calories at fitday.com or sparkspeople exercise at least 30 min a day. Have you ever tried weight watchers imho it is the most balanced livable eating plan out there they help teach you about portion sizes etc.. You may want to join a group in your area - this also gives you the weekly accountablity factor (weigh ins) What happend in your life that made you go back to your old eating habits. Your doc is right - you had to have been eating to have gained 10 lbs - this is why keeping a food diary is very important - when you write down everything you put in your mouth you will realize that you are eating more than you think. Did you get comfortable with a candy here or a burger there and pretty soon you are all the way back to square one with you eating You lost a considerable amount of weight - and you may have been rewarding yourself with food. I have done so good this little bit won't hurt. That's why I say that you have to take the word DIET out of your vocabulary - diet's don't work - you go off them and gain all your weight back. Call your doc to see if you can get in sooner than April - and tomorrow make a committment to yourself to eat healthy for the day - then the next day do the same keep repeating it each day - throw out all the junk in your how - go to the store stock up on healthy foods (low fat s/f) - when you need support or something to distract you from wanting to eat - come here talk to us - take it one day at a time and think back to how much better you felt when you lost your weight in the beginning. You can do this - you have done it before - I know it's hard to get back your motivation - but looks like you have cuz you have come here asking for help. Pbing is productive burp - when your food gets stuck and come back up not as bad a throwing up - but almost the same - You are strong - you have proven that - you just have to remind yourself..
  15. Hey Gang - Were is everyone :tt1: I just got back from the gym - did my 3 miles - I am beat. but at least i can drink Water without slliming - Mango - a bit of advice it you don't think you need a fill don't get one or just have them add a couple ten's of a cc - I will tell you being to tight is worst than being too lose. Well, I am still trying to get use to these glasses  I will ck back later...
  16. Ok Silver - take a deep breath - exhale - relax - you are a food addict you have had a relapse - now pick yourself up by your boot straps and move forward. You are stopping you - you need to make the commitment to yourself to get healthy - First you need to go to the doctor and get a fill - your tool is not going to work if you don't use it. You are sabotaging yourself by not getting fills with the excuse you don't want to be to tight - you don't want to give up foods that you might not be able to eat once you have proper restriction. Hey I'm a fat chick too - I know all the excuses - so please don't get pissed - I am giving you tough band love (the operative word being love) Next item on the agenda - Eating healthy - Protein first - veggies then carbs. Keep a food diary count your calories and protien grams - allow your self some carb - I follow weight watchers eating plan - this is not a diet this is a lifetime lifestyle change in your eating habits - diets fail cuz when go off them you regain all your weight cuz you go back to eating normal - which eating normal got you fat in the first place Next item - exercise - you need minimum 30 mins a day - walking at least As you well know the band is only a tool to help you with your portion control 75% of the work is up to you and the other 25% comes from the band You may need to see someone regarding you food issue alot of people do - we eat for comfort - be something as simple as boredom or something as serious as abuse - we soothe our feelling with our drug of choice food. You have to find other ways to soothe yourself... IMHO 75% of the battle to lose weight is in our heads - we make up our minds that we can't do something - well - if you keep telling yourself you can't then you won't - but if you take it just one day at a time telling yourself you can - you will ... You can do this - you just have to get your head in the right place You started by coming here and asking for help - next you need to call your surgeon and making an appointment for a fill and his help. You are stronger than you give yourself credit for - you started this journey to be healthy - you have had a little detour - Now get your butt back in the bandwagon mode. my best to you - beleive in yourself - you can do this..
  17. Ya it was noon time by the time I left his office - that would have been funny me and my doc out driniking - i want food not liquid calories..
  18. Mango - It's ok - I don't post every day - Thanks !!!
  19. Hi Annie Sorry that you had complications - What were they if I may ask. I don't know if we have anyone here who had bypass then the band - I know there are people who have lost their band and have had bypass or the sleave.
  20. Dianne You can join us - we have Salsa who is August and Twilight who is Dec (I think) We dont discriminate... We are a big happy family - no we don't fight we support - but you gotta watch out for me & salsa - we are the food cop or as we like to call ourselves Food Angels of this group - but it's totally with love.. You are welcome anytime...
  21. Ok gang - I am back from my unfill - I had 5.8 now I have 5 even - he had added 1 cc last Weds - took out .08 cc today - I can drink water with no problems - BUT he said I had to stay on liquids for another week - cuz i am swollen - well we will see about that not going to go eat a steak but will try something mushie - cuz i am sick of soup...... And he told me I could have come in Monday - so next time I am tight I will call his cell # -he even felt sorry for me cuz i couldn't eat on my Bday  he is going to talk to the new girls up front - I told him I thought that was his policy - but figured I could wait til wed - he said he doesn't even go on vacations and if he does - it's close so he can fly home if a patient needs him. Isn't that so cool - he called his patients his family.. But he is training some to take over when he is on vacation .. I am going to try some yogurt for lunch but that is considered liquid with him  Ok just wanted to give you an update and celebrate that I can drink water without sliming,.....
  22. Linda - I'm 5'4 - unofficially 180. My weight is pretty much well distributed too. (Except 70 lbs ago my tummy stuck out past my boobs) I would say I am small to medium frame. All 12's are not created equal... I have a pair j.c. Pennys Worthington brand I think and Ralph Lauren jeans - but that same weekend went to stein mart and got a pair of 14's that fit the same as the 12s. I even have a top I got at Macys’s that's a 2 x and fits fine (well got it 2 months ago it is a tad bigger but wearable). Sizes aren't equal - I would say that size 11 shoe you are large frame and that's what's coming into play - I am still wearing my 14's from the avenue but the are real baggy in the legs by the end of the day - but truly the waist isn't too bad - infact as I sit here I still have a muffin top with these pants when I am sitting. So it depends on the style of pant and who makes them. On all the fashion shows I watch - they say don't be bothered by the size what is most important is the fit and this is the rule I live by. Don’t get to hung up about the # - I know that's easy for me to say - but heck - Karri is 5 lbs lighter than me now and says she fit in a 10 & 8 OMG - I wouldn't even try.... It sound like we have the exact same eyesight - Yes I will work with them for a week and see how they go - This is my first time wearing glasses - I just got so sick of readers on my nose 24/7 or on top of my head - I may try the mono vision lasic (sp) one eye distant the other for reading. Jackie's right with who knows - you are losing and that's all that really counts
  23. Donna I agree 110% going to the gym is a big part of our weight loss - now they have proven that people who exercise have younger cells...
  24. Karri I have pb'd a few times- heck yesterday after a sallow of water I was sliming - one good thing is that my eyes aren't swollen in the morning.. After I pb i usually don't try again for a while - got up mid of nite and ate top of cup cake - 3/4 of it i think - then i said stupid you are tight you are now going to get sick - but thank God I didn't - Biggest Loser - I tivo'd it watched a tad this morning - I don't like the yellow team cuz they voted off the pink team and I related to the mom  - they were working hard - but stopped when they were about to pick the new teams - will watch tonite - Oh ya my fav show Lost is coming back - can't wait. Thanks for pouting with me  - but you know like I always say - It' not about the food - gotta pratice with I preach... My Son finally showed up and brought me a nice card - that's something I did right with him - he does look and read cards and picks the best one for the person... He always gets me cards that are meaningfull and makes me cry... I am such a big sentimental baby... Thanks Marcy - I think I would like the sauage too - Seal Meat what does that taste like - and don't say chicken - Don't think I would want to eat seal - but heck I am the kind of person who would try anything once. Congrats on the NSV a regular towel :frown:- and how sweet your hubby is for kissing you in public... Well gang I'm at work - better get started - trying these glasses - I think I wasted my $$ - may just have to get some for reading and computer - or heck maybe I will try the mono vision contact... Ck with ya'll later
  25. Ok Karri & Phyl Thanks for permission - I tried - i just pb'd after 4 bites and we are talking small bites from a condintment spoon and very slow... Now I am really sad - can't friggin eat - I am hungry it's my bday and I can't eat... I can't wait until 10:30 a.m tomorrow... Then I can drink & eat... On the glasses - I will give it a week and see... I hope i will adjust cuz they look better than bio-focals... I am vain :frown:
