Karri - Ya broc coming back up - was awful - I must be a little swollen cuz for lunch all I could eat was my fish today - yesteday at fish & veggies (spinach - which is a slider food - Learned that termonigly at that meeting - foods that slide right through the band) - I don't think a day or 2 of not enough protein is going to make you lose your hair - alot of people say its the meds that they use to put us to sleep and the trama of surgery that causes it - but my gf went on medifast and lost tons of hair. I agree with you about being too tight - even now I think I should have passed on a fill period - cuz I really don't think I am getting all my calories in - i think yesterday it was about 760 - but cuz of my fish for lunch & dinner I did get 70 grms of protein and 3 bottles of water plus my coffee about 60 oz of water.. Jackie - OMG $147 on candles - I have done it too - we had a wife of one of our agents selling candles - they can get expensive - but they weren't suppose to burn black smoke and they do - so I quit buying them - I like Village candles - blackberry pie or something like that - I like STRONG smells I hate it when I buy a candle and you can't even smell it burning.. On the TMI subject - I don't get cramps or anything - I eat veggies 99.9% of the time for lunch and dinner - fish & veggies - they are the staple of my diet really wanted to go out for lunch today and splurge - but didn't so tommorrow when I go to Montclair shopping I will have a treat - I better eat those ice chips so the swelling goes down so I can eat... Until you feel better I would rest - rest & chicken soup and you will feel good by Monday... Well, back to work - talk to you all later xoxox J

They ache not cramp and I got some potassium pills but just like my vitiams I never take them:tongue2: - I eat spinach - yogurt & bananas (about once a week -but I hate mushie bananas I like them on the green side) I put them in my yogurt for breakfast. I really think it is partly water as some days only get in half - and I know that too much potassium isn't good for you either so I am sorta afraid to take the pills too often.. Well I am STARVING - it's lunch - gonna go eat my salmon and broc - Here is something interesting - you know how mostly everyone it tight in the AM and loose at night - I think I am the other way around... But that's good for me since I am such a night eater - Now if i could just control my brain to quit wanting food when I am full on not my whole dinner but about 3/4 of it It's just that 3 or 4 oz of fish 1/4 rice and 1/2 c veggie - is just not enough food - see guys i am all screwed up - eating is mental not physical..:glare:

Karri - I had a bad PB on broccoli last night - it's really wasnt the broccolis fault but mine - cuz I kept eating it even though I was full phyically but not mentally. This is a continual battle for me -:glare: Steph - Love your new pic on your signature - Hope your Kids don't have RSV... I am lucky that my doc is 20 miles from me.. Ruby - That's how it was for me when I was too tight - I really could not stand it:mad2: - even now I am tight with just .02 added - If I take too big of a sip - it gives me a ping pong ball in my chest...

Anyone wish they had chosen bypass??
- Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Jackie - Hugs to you - just cuz you the scales aren't moving - you can't stop posting :tongue2:. You have been sick - aunt Flo and lack of exercise. These are all contributing factors. How is the being sick - are you well enough to get back on your elliptical?? Here are my suggestions - If you are feeling up to it get back to exercising - drink your water very important - even if you don't count calories write down what you are eating - being sick you may have been consuming more than you thought you were or even maybe not enough - you gotta vary them like every couple of day - lower your salt intake - don't get on the scale for 1 week - just take it one day at a time and concentrate on eating very healthy I know this next question is a TMI one - but how are you doing in the potty department (I ask this cuz I haven’t been doing well - about every 3 days) Like Ruby said you have lost 78 friggin pounds - That's the number you have to concentrate on right now - our weight loss is going to slow sometimes – Look at your before & after pic’s – they show the success that you have achieved… Don’t lose sight of that. Be proud of what you have accomplished so far in just a little over 6 months. This too shall pass – relax the stress is a big factor in our weight problems – so just chill – take it one day at a time and the scales will move again. Now, I want you all to tell me this when I hit my plateau – which should be hitting me soon – I know that this is easy for me to say – but I really feel that we have to think about where we where a year ago and where we are today – We are in such a better place – we are lighter – healthier and more confident. Peaches – Your Bday is the same as my DIL …. Ok - Good Morning Gang - How you all had a good night.. Remember how I tell you all that my legs ache at night - I think it may be lack of water. - I am not always good about getting my water in - and yesterday I made a point of it and last night my legs didn't wake me up hurting like the did the night before - but again I didn't exercise last night (Thurs is one of my allowed days off) - so today I will make an effort to drink my water and I will be exercising tonite - so I will let you know Sat morning if my little experiment works?? Ok Gang just my usual morning ck in - Today's challenge is to DRINK YOUR WATER - I will be tallying tonite...- A couple of pre-op questions......help please
Grayorm We want everyone to be successfull and we want to let the newbies know that this isn't the easy way out - that it does take alot of hard work on your part to be successful - the band is only a tool ... When I first joined this was repeated to me over and over again - We don't want you to be dissappionted - de-motivated - we want you to succeed.. Good Luck on your journey...- Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Phyl see I did remember something from that meeting:regular_smile::tt1:- Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Karri Here is one thing I learn at support group the other nite - after you have a stuck episode - eat ice chips... Just like you did after surgery... That is the one thing I got out of the support group - besides that pouch test site... I am glad to hear that you aren't going to kill anyone or yourself - Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
I'm 53 now  but a hell and a lot healthier than I was when I turned 52 - Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Hey Gang What's everyone doing tonite - I am trying to make plans for the weekend want to go out of town shopping - my 14's are falling off - i need a few things. Phyl - I thought the thingie was called one-bell but I google it too and couldn't find anything. - 5ft tall :tongue2: - you are too funny - you still are a short little thing.. Nothing wrong with being short - heck i have a gf who is 5,8 and wears 4 inch heals want to talk about feeling short - and people keep tell me i look shorter now that i have lost a few pounds - the say I am shrinking..:tt1: Steph - I am a BIG Qvc shopper and I don't live in the boonies  I have given away my Citiknits they were 2x and just look like sacks - I am getting into more form fitting clothes - Plus I don't know what size to order anymore - I ordered large demi & company bootcut pants and they are too big... I have never ordered a mediium - so once I really know what size i am - i might go back to ordering. Good thing to know about the throwing up - cuz that bug is here in the Desert too.. Becca - I was where you are a while back - but I said relax - you are onlyl 5 months out - but I totally understand - since you are only eating 1/16 of what you ate before - you think you should just wake up and it's all gone - hate to tell you - it aint gooing to happen :blushing: cuz i wake up every morning and as i get in the shower - I see all the fat that's still on my body - But it will come - we just gotta slow our minds down - I only weigh once a week... I hate the scales and how much they change on an hourly basis.. Peaches - Glad to hear you are on progarm and still have restriction - you I guess all these crossed fingers are helping  Car - Great to hear from you... Don't just lurk - join in - we've missed you.. Ok its 7:30 and need to cook so going to go start dinner - brb- I need support, but mom wont let me have it
Maddy - What are your medical issues to be overweight? If you have medical issues how is the band going to address these issues - Who is paying for this surgery - I take it you still live at home ... This is a hard one - you have been feeding yourself for a long time now - it's not your Mom's fault - My Mom always had me on a diet - I would sneek food - so how would that be my mom's fault - You are 19 - imho it's up to you who you want to tell and not tell - but like others have already told you - some people look at this as the easy way out - it's not cuz in order to be successfull - it you who is going to have to control the foods you eat after being banded - it's you who has to go out and exercise - I am lucky that my friends and co-workers see me eat lunch every day - I eat healthy they no I go to the gym every day - It's a totally personal choice - I really can't tell you want to do - it's all up to you - Maybe you need to sit and talk to your mom - tell her this isn't about her it's about you.. My best to you..- A couple of pre-op questions......help please
Kat - You gotta ck with your doctor - each one is totally different and we can't tell you what to do - only he can - but fyi I did call my doc and asked the same thing - call yours and see what he says.. Good luck and welcome LBT..- Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Acid reflux -heartburn - I get something like heartburn but very mild -- Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Becca you are doing great 61 lbs gone - you can't beat that :blushing:- i am so afarid of that platue (sp) - cuz so far I have always lost something even if it's just 1/2 lb in a week.. So I know it's around the corner How many calories are you eating - what did you get them up and how often/long At the support group I went to on Tuesday they gave us a site Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test It's basicly for bypass but I think the leader said it helped with Platues too.. Phyl do you remember??- A couple of pre-op questions......help please
Very well said Twilght  I truly feel regardless of percentages that the real work in losing weight even with the band is mental - the band our interior motivator...- Am I eating too much?
GF 37 lbs in a month - you are doing great This is not a diet but a lifetime lifestyle change You can eat with the band not everyone gets a fill immediately. There are people in my Doc's office who 6 months out haven't had a fill - just with the band in place they have enought restriction - Restrictions isn't about not about not eating at all - but eating far less than you did before. Between the 2 restriction & eating healthy and exercise the weight will come off...- Would you do it again?
I would do it again in a heart beat - I feel 10 yrs younger...- Am I eating too much?
If you are losing you imho you aren't eating too much ... I was able to eat between 1 to 2 cups depending on what I was eating...- Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Ok baby girl I don't want to have to come and bail you out of jail - and for murder - I don't think I have enought $$$$ even if they did give you bail. And I get to meet you first - so you can't die - it's not allowed... Hugs for that kind of work - I just couldn't do it - well maybe when I was your age - but I look at it I have put in my due and I really don't want to work that hard anymore - I worked hard - but not those kind of hours ...- Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Thanks for the validation Ruby !!!! (I knew my girls would have my back:thumbup:) They aren't banded yet and so they don't really know and you know how I am - I don't want anyone to rely on the solely for their weight loss - I want us all to succeed. Not fail and with that kind of thinkig imho you are doomed for failure...- Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
[quote name='Twilight;715557 ]Good morning all. What a busy morning. Woke up to my little boy throwing up. Janet--Sometimes people need to hear the cold hard truth. For many' date=' hinting at it or sugar coating it isn't good enough. If you said it, she must have needed to hear it...otherwise something (I believe, God) would have curbed your tongue and softened the blow. I'm sure your, what you consider an, outburst was exactly what was called for. My team doesn't think much of chatting with others online about this journey, but I think it's a great educational tool. I think there are too many gullible people out there that take everything they read as gospel. I take it all with a grain of salt. Like our bands, it's only a TOOL and we have to do the actual WORK. Anyways....never pull punches when it's something important. .[/quote'] Steph - I forgot earlier - Are you a QVC girl??? Your outfit in you pic looks like one I almost ordered a while ago Yep there is a flu bug going around my GD & DIL both had it - I sure don't want it - first one end then the other - and we aren't suppose to throw up, becareful that you don't pick it up too. I agree with you on things needing to be said - I think i pissed someone off on another thread - stating 75% of the work is up to you - they say that the band will do 75% of the work - I told them that it's more mental than phyiscal the work that needs to be done to really commit to this lifetime lifestyle change.... What do you all think??- Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
Ruby - CONGRATS 186 - WAY TO GO GIRL - YOU ARE DOING IT... I am happy to read that you are feeling better - I am so happy I got a flu shot - knock on wood I haven't really been sick this winter - a couple days over new years had a tad of a cold but nothing big.. Yep - I am here most morning:biggrin2: - It's the first place I come when I get to work -:biggrin2: so many of you are on after I get off at nite usually around 7 or 8 - I can't be on the computer after 9 p.m. cuz then I can't sleep and 5 a.m. comes early - I just want to say Hi to all my GF's - and wish everyone a good day. I love readying what everyone is doing in their day to day life - just like you do when you get to work - you chat with your friends on what they did the night before - or over the weekend... Well back to the grind - ck in later...- A couple of pre-op questions......help please
JustinsMama I was responding to you both really. I am the one who said band does 25% and the other 75% is up to you.. I have found so many people go into this surgery and then are dissappointed that they aren't losing the weight - it's cuz they haven't done the head work and expect the band to to all the work. This is a lifetime lifestyle change and you really have to prepare your self for this.. That's all I am saying.. It's just my opinion based on the information that I have learned from my doctor - being on this site and my own experience.. The band is only a tool.- Post op diahreaah? (Don't know if I spelled that right)
Christi - I had this problem for about 3 or 4 weeks (can't remember the exact lenght) even after I moved to mushies - I finally took some imodeom (sp) and it stopped..- A couple of pre-op questions......help please
My Doc agrees with the 75/25 analogy - this is why the band is only suppose to get rid of 50% or 60% of your excess weight in 2 yrs. That's what they advertise (you got 100 lbs to lose - they expect you to lose 50 with the band and that's it) that’s bs in my opinion Well you have to change your whole mentally about food if you plan on losing and keeping the weight off. The battle is more mental than physical - You think you are hungry when you really aren't - you are filling time - soothing emotions etc - You gotta add exercise all this is mental the band is only a piece of plastic in your stomach - it doesn't make your food choices or make you get out and exercise - it's doesn't counsel you about your issue around food and why you over eat. It is a physical barrier that can stop you from over eating by causing you to PB (which isn’t good for the band) – I can tell you from experience that I am physically full after dinner 99% of the time – but still want to continue to eat - or you can eat around it – sugar loaded foods – high fat foods. Those are the facts – so you think you only have to do 30% of the work and the band will do the rest?? You think that it’s all about the physical and not the mental I guess we just have a diff of opinions – I wish you the best with your weight loss and beating your addiction to food. (just like a drug addict who gets clean - their brains still crave the drug for the rest of their life - it's not physical it's mental) - Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters
