  1. I have been one of those ppl who could eat everything - until I went for sushi at lunch - I don't think I can eat sticky rice - now mind you I eat jasimine rice every night with dinner - but today - got stuck-! either I ate too fast slight possibility - or didn't chew - again slight possibility but omw I was stuck - so I don't think I will be having sushi anytime soon
  2. Yep Phyl I need to chill - just took my bp and it's 130 over 78 - no bad since I didn't take my bp med last night.. It's just that I have been telling them for YEARS (16 since my parents died) that the $$$ won't be here forever.. My bro could lose his house and become homeless. That's the real problem... But I can't to a damn thing about it - so let it go.. Nothing pisses me off more than to go out to eat and pay good $$ and get sh*tty food.. I enjoy eating (still) and when I eat I want good food. I am hungry right now cuz that 1/2 piece of sushi & 2 bites of fish only really didn't cut it and then I go off and forget my left overs at work - well - I don't think I could have eaten the ca rolls any- well _ I gues I will just have to skip sushi from now on - any way a bit pricey since I can't eat much.. and I dont think they have children menu there:lol: I wish I knew someone with a WII- it sounds like fun.. i would want to try it to see if it's something I would really do - before I laid out that kind of dough Well, I am skipping the gym tonite - i am tired - didn't get to bed until after 11 and am up at 5 - my bro pissed me off - my boss pissed me off (made me go to a meeting that has nothing to do with the types of accounts that I write so total waste of time) so - I am just emotionally drained and beat - haven't had but maybe 100 calories today - so I think I need to have a good healhty dinner and get to bed early so that I canll go in the morning to the gym for sure.. Ok I am going to go ck the fridge - and you don't have to worry - I don't have any dangerous foods in the house only good healthy stuff.. I do know my limitations :cursing: Karri - How did the PS visit go!!! Will ck back chickies...
  3. Gadgetlady I don't think kobish is a real person - they were just banded on 2/20 and was eating right afterwards - got a fill on 3/10 (2 weeks later) and ate 3 pieces of pizza saying no restriction- but here they are pbing 2-20 time a day??? Something is fishy in demark!!!! Or i smell a weazle = whatda ya think??
  4. Yes - I eat veggies (but I like them soft - not hard) I eat fruit had strawberrys today - Salads no problem I just found out today that I can't eat sushi rice -I eat jasmine rice everynight but tried sushi today - and it just didn't word - it may have been too that I didn't chew well enought either.. You gotta take tiny bites eat slowly and chew chew chew..
  5. Kobdish You should NOTbe pbing 2-20 times a day!!!! This is very bad for your band- you can cause your band to slip. You need to eat slowly - tiny bites and chew chew chew. You don't state if you have had a fill or what - but if yu have - i suggest if the above doesn't work that you get a little taken out.
  6. Congrats on your weight loss - This is a band related site and most banders do optifast as a pre-band diet - but after that we eat regular food - you might want to google Optifast and see if they have a support thread - I think they do - Most of us post in threads for the month we were banded and maybe an age one too - Good luck on your Quest to be healthy
  7. The problem is that we are only half owners - the other half is my dad's partners kids - they don't want to sell. We had an offer right before the market went to hell in a hand basket - but No the GREEDY other half did not like the offer - who knows if we had agreed on a price that the sell would have gone thru - it was just at the start of the real estate down fall. He is talking about subdiving which cost $$ and he doesn't have a pot to piss in and when I asked how we would pay the $$$ back he said when it sold.. STUPID no one is buying property right now... This is my little bro - my other bro die in 99 he was 43 and my last word with him were an agrument too - you see my bro's lived on ranch properties rent & utlitite free - most of their lives - and they are/were both very fiscally irresponsible and then add drugs to the mix - where as I had my own house paid my own mortgage etc. went to work every day - you know the drill - Ok I am just getting worked up again
  8. Thanks Peaches :cursing: Well, I just found out a food I CAN NOT EAT - SUSHI I think it's the rice - I know I eat rice every day - but it's jasmine rice and not sticky rice - OMW I ate 1/2 of one roll and a couple pieces of the fish on top and got stuck - still stuck a little bit - So no more sushi for me Well, I am in a PISSED mood today - my bro started it last night - it's too much to go into here - but involves land that we inherited - it not selling and brothers who have been living off the inheridance and not working and are about to run out of $$$ - and accussing me of stealing - well you know what I have worked since I was 19 - I make a good salary and what I inherited is extra for me - I saved and invested - I didn't sit on my A$$ do drug and act like I was howard fricken hughes.. Well that is it in a nut shell - my bro is whacked -but he is my only living brother with whom I share the same parents - My sister has a diff Dad.. Well, I gotta get my butt back to work - so ck back later..
  9. Good Morning Gang!!! TGIF :cursing: Linda - As to having my head there yes I think I do - but I am afraid of what the future holds - I know I can't worry about tomorrow - so I just take it one day at a time - I am so scared that the weight will come back on - for me the REAL proof will be 5 yrs from now. I am highly motivated right now - but will I be a year from now:confused:. We all know that if you lose your motivation it's so hard to get back. My trainer said that my sweating is proof that my motabolism is working (I sweat like a freaking pig in my head mostly) So I think that I am just very lucky that exercise is a very big help in losing my weight along with my food choices - I think having major surgery was also a big motivator - when I woke up after surgery - I said WTF have I done  I don't like pain... Plus - being single makes my job a little easier - I don't have all the family drama & frustrations (some my bro called last night and we got in a big arguement - but being upset like that doesn't cause me to eat - boredom is/was my biggest challenge) plus I am not going all the time - My trip to Laughlin and our Mall trip will be experiences for me as far as making good food choices and eating out for a whole weekend - as it stands now I don't eat out that much maybe once a week or really every 2 or 3 weeks. I wish that I could give you some of my motivation - but hopefully by being a good example I am helping in some way - I know that some of you hold me in high esteem as to my success and that in itself is a big - part of my motivation - just like my trainer telling me good job - That's what I like about our group - we are each others cheer leader - we all need cheering on and to be told GOOD JOB - it is critical in my opinion. And you know what our families don't always fill that bill - we are taken for granted and as the primary care givers we do all the giving and rarely received the thanks or koedo (sp) for what we do for our family and others - that's why we ate (imho) we give give give and don't always get back - so we rewarded/comforted ourselves with food. I could be full of it - you all might just think I am just a big wind bag - and just put up with me. I have been told on another thread - that I can be a bit preachy  Chim - I am with you on the exercise - who would have thunk that we would ever want to exercise - Have fun !!! Kristin - What kind on shopping ?? Clothes :blushing::tongue: Cleaning good exercise too - especially a deep spring cleaning.. Kari - here is what bmi is all about - Finding out your body mass index (BMI) is a quick way to figure out if your weight is healthy for your height. Your BMI value is more useful for predicting your health risks than your weight alone, but it's even more useful to treat it as one of many factors that influences your health, including total body fat, waist circumference and waist-to-hip ratio. Body mass index is calculated by this formula, developed by the Belgian statistician Adolphe Quetelet in the nineteenth century: Using BMI to predict overweight still has its limitations, though. It doesn't take frame size into account, so people with stockier builds may be considered overweight even if they don't have a lot of body fat. Tests that physically measure body fat and distribution are better than BMI at telling if you are overweight. A skinfold measure, for example, uses a instrument called calipers to measure the thickness of the fat layer on your arm or stomach. A bioelectrical impedance test how easily electricity travels through your body (fatty tissue slows down the current) to estimate what percentage of the body is fat. These tests involve a physical measurement by a trained technician at a gym or doctor's office. Also, BMI is not a good predictor of overweight for these groups of people: •Children and teens, because BMI ranges are based on adult heights•Competitive athletes and bodybuilders, because heavier muscle weight may skew the results•Pregnant or nursing women, because they need more fat reserves than usual•People over 65, because even BMI values of 29 do not appear to be unhealthy at this age, and may even be a useful energy reserve in case of illness Well, since I was so preachy above - I better get my butt to work - it's 8 so will ck back later Happy Friday Everyone
  10. Kari He's 43 yrs old How's your biking doing??? How many miles do you have now... Well, I went to the gym did 3.25 mile and am hungry - I am usually not hungry this early It's sure been quite today Ruby - that dish sounds good - I am goiing to have to try it too.. Ok gotta feed my babies -- will be back later
  11. Karri I think that's a good idea - ya 2 4 a.m. morning  Keep us posted when you can on the PS consultation Best Wishes on the Wedding - We are so happy for you :bolt: Can't wait to see the picture. No I am most likely the only one who didn't hide from the camera while I was fat... Have a safe trip !!!! Where are you staying on your wedding nite - somewhere nice & fun  xoxo Janet aka Band Mommy
  12. OMW - My post didn't post !!!! So here is what I said for the most part :bolt: Phyl my heart goes out to you - I can understand being sad about not being able to be at the services - I wish I could do more to help you through this difficult time - Just know that you are near and dear to me and I am sending good thoughts - hugs & prayers your way.. Thanks - As i said before - for me this journey isn't has hard as I thought it would be - except for a few moments - I think maybe I just got it - my ah ha moment and lucky to have restriction. Yep my trainer is a keeper and great motivater - it's really nice having some one tell you Good Job when you push thru the exercise.. Sounds like you have a fun weekend ahead of you - that's great - enjoy your kids & grandkids.. I am going to a Josh Stone concert on Saturday - OH Liquid calories - so I am going to have to hit the gym for the next 3 days  Ok the phone is ringing - gotta go - ck back l8tr
  13. 1st - what stage are you on your post op diet - this meal sounds like it would be considered soft - not a mushie and 15 days out I was on mushies. You have to follow your doc's post op diet 2nd you gotta quit thinking about them - quit obessing about them -they will be there in another few weeks - they aren't going anywhere - it's just food - food is always availble - as fat chicks for some reason we think if we don't have it right now we are going to die - heck you aren't going to die from not eating your fav meal - in fact you might live a little longer  Keep to your food plan that your doc has given you - heck try and spice up your mushie - you will survive - it's only food - it's not manna from heaven - Stay strong - Good Luck...........
  14. You are doing what you need to - find distractions - remember why you were banded - LBT becomes our transfer addiction - it a good thing it's calorie free - doesn't cost a dime and it's the greatest place imho.. For me my intense cravings aren't like they use to be at all - once your body gets use to eating healthy that's what it craves most of the time - and if I have to have choc - I have sf fudgecicle or choc pudding or even a Protein Bar - you get your sweet fix and protein at the same time. The 3 bite rule is another tool I use. Exercise too is key. Good Luck on this journey
  15. That's what we are here for.. I am glad you are feeling better.
  16. Good Morning Gang Happy Thursday - One more day til the weekend:thumbup: Phyl - I REFUSE to buy pre-made potatoe or mac salads  A gf once showed me how you can buy it then add some of your own stuff to jazz it up but imho it still taste like crap - It' not that hard to make anyway - I use red potatoes (so no peelling) green onions - black olives - mustard - mayo - if you want to jazz it up some - use wasabe mayo - delish !!! I don't think I have made any since being banded - but I may have I just use lite mayo now..:w00t: Well - 6.5 to go til my 1st goal I just can't get over this whole weight loss thing - it is just blowing my mind - I have accomplished so much in the last 8 1/2 months (yes this is me patting myself on the back:lol:) - my brain has changed (hopefully forever:rolleyes2:) My trainer said yesterday as I was pushing thru - (had to do 100 reps on some machine where the weights are on your shoulders and you squat and push up) that he could tell my deterimation in my face as I was shaking my head no - i can't do anymore - but i would - you gotta work thru the burn - Trainers are really great motivators - do you know that for that one hour you don't think about work, home etc - you are talking to your guy/girl and your mind is totally in a whole nother place - it is really enjoyable - I think once my 3 months 2xweek is up - I will still keep him once a week - I will make room in my budget somehow.. Well, better see what's on my desk for the day Later chickie...
  17. PHYL CONGRATULATION 49.9 BMI WAY TO GO GIRL !!!!! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU :huh2::thumbup::thumbup: Kari I am a donor on my drivers license and living will. Jackie I just shake my head at all your cleaning - I bet we could eat off your floors if we came to your house You are too funny about your cleaning - but gotta say it's better than the alternative:tongue2: Ruby I am with you I NEVER want to be too tight again that was the freakin pitts. You are still healing from your surgery and once you really back into your exercise it will come off and we don't have any more holidays for a while - at least Memorial day isn't about candy - just bbq and we do need our protein We will just have to say no to the potato salad etc - or use Phyl's 3 bite rule. Karri Running to the store OMW you are now our residential health nut:lol: I wear my lipo in the box everday (spanx type garment just stronger) I feel nake without it.. Phyl It's so nice to have you back again posting . Ok gang it's 8:15 and I haven't eaten yet - On trainer days I don't get home til after 6 and tonite stopped at the store (I drove:lol:) Came home fed the dogs got on here and then paid bills - where does the time go.. It's time for me to eat and unwind - so til tomorrow - sweet dreams everyone - oxoxox
  18. I would be freaking PISSED OFF - WTF - they replaced your port and some tubing not your band your band has been there for 8 freakin months. I give you a pass on the M&M tonite - you deserved them !!! Linda glad you are feeling better !!! - I want my bat wings fixed.. Phyl - I think Jackie plays the WII machince - Yes it counts for exercise Karri why is your back hurting?? Ok - I will make my reservation tomorrow - I gotta pay bills tonite Since I never did it last night I had a nice complement from my trainer today - he said I looked thiner (well I did have on all black and on Monday had a neon orange top) but I will take the completement - He worked my little butt - tomorrow is my weigh in day.. Well I gotta pay bills I will be back later..
  19. At my support group - it was suggested to suck on ice chips.
  20. On the DH issue in July - Phyl's Dh is comming so if Step & Jackies come the guys can hang out together. We should get them talking now so they will know each other Excellent dissertation Karri !!!! I love the will power reference - yes damn it we need will power even with the band - We are not that friggin weak we really aren't - we don't give ourselves enough credit. On some other thread - I posted that I kept a food diary counted calories and pt grms - got response I refuse to diet - I don't do those things !! My reply - was I wasn't dieting I was eating healthy and the reason for the food log, and counting was that for me it was a learning tool - cuz as a fat person I didn't know what a portion size was - to me a portion was that foot long sandwich not 1/4 of that sandwich - so I needed to count calories weigh and measure food until I learn what a correct portion was and hell I never knew that there was 7 grms of pt in every ounce of meat and if you don't count how are you going to know if you are getting enough protein?? Ok I gotta get back to work - ttyl
  21. I eat all those things !!!
  22. Steph. I didn't even know who Trace was prior to the apprentice - but OMW that is one big hunk of a man and i just am in lust with him... Ya you can come:) I think the homewood suite - it's right across the street - I think chim has already rsvp her room - I gotta go back a few pages and double ck - I guess I need to rsvp to and book flight soon...
  23. Hey Gang back from the dentist - I did pretty good for not having my teeth cleaned in over 5 yrs  Gums are good.. Steph - Enjoy your time off with your kids while they are young - I have worked since I was 17 (well back to school & worked in the afternoons) I did have about the 1st yr & half at home with my son. Congrats on breaking the 170s  My doc scales is about 4 lbs heavier but I don't go by his weight I go by my scale. Linda - Congrats on the little grandaughter to be - they are such joys... Ok I gotta get some work done ck ya all later..
  24. Life you don't have to wait that long  I think I waited 6 weeks by then my incisions were 100% healed.. That's all you need to worry about.. Heck I live in the desert was banded 7/17 - and its hot here in the summer I couldn't wait until I could get back in the pools - plus it's good exercise :tt2:
  25. Chim I am still asleep at 4:14 a.m. I don't get up til 5 a.m and that's 8 your time  YEA!!! We are up an running... :tt2::thumbup::frown::thumbup::frown: Well, how is everyone this mornng - I got to work a little early cuz i have to go get my teeth cleaned @ 8:15 - and as usual the first place I come is here once I get signed it - OMW we have like 2 diff sign ons and it takes forever to get going in the mornings - well not really but you know we all want instant gratification now a days. Karri - I have been a little tight too lately - it's so funny sometimes I feel like I am loosing up and then the next time I eat - I am tight... I only got about 635 calories yesterday and not enought protein - so I am drinking one of my clear protein drinks this morning and will make sure I eat more... Chim - I really do love having a trainer - mine is a guy - x-body builder not bad on the eyes either  omw I guess with the lbs coming off I am looking at men more - when I said I have sworn off of them. Well I guess I was just in denial - cuz I was fat no one would be interested and now that I am not as fat (don't know if I will ever consider myself a skinny chick) my eyes are cking out the guys.. But again - I don't know if I want all the drama in my life - that comes with relationships.. Well lets say I am not shutting that door forever - Karri does your DF have an older brother - Oh I guess I should say an available father or uncle. I forget your age at times  I am old enought to by your mom not sis  Linda - how is your band when you fly? Denise (athinerdenise) says that hers tighten up for about 2 days??? Ok well I got do some work before I leave in about 15 minutes - so I will ck back when I get back..
