One Year Post and Regaining :(

He thinks there's a chance it wasn't made small enough or not performed well. I'm having issues with vomiting, nausea and some occasional pain as well.

One Year Post and Regaining :(

I think you misunderstood. I am able to eat more that I should with the sleeve. Doesn't mean I go out of my way to eat more. Secondly, I have my bad days and good days just like you and everyone else on and off this forum. I don't always make the right choices but, for the most part I try to stick to my maintenance plan and I exercise. I wouldn't dare consider posting what I posted if I knew good and well I wasn't doing my part most of the time. Pointless. Hope that answers your question.
  3. Getting back on track?

  4. Hey y'all. I had my sleeve performed on 4/22/13. My weight at the time of surgery was 357. As of today, I weigh 295 lbs. My lowest weight was around 283 lbs. Each month since having the surgery, it became easier to eat higher volumes of food. My weight loss slowed down, then stalled, and now I have regained. I admit, I don't always make the right food choices, but I exercise and try to keep moving. I relocated from SC to OH in early April and finally got up enough courage to make an appt with a surgeon. I met with him today. He thinks that my sleeve may be faulty and ordered an upper GI and lab work. He set a plan in place and asked that I lose 4 lbs in 2 weeks by my next appt. He said based on the upper GI results a RNY would be an option. My question is once you go through all those steps before the initial surgery, do the same requirements have to be met again for the insurance company for a revision? Does anyone have any info on this?

    My Dr. Visit Today...?

How far out are you? Give me more info on your caloric intake. Do you fluctuate? I'd love to hear how you lost 17 lbs in two weeks!
  6. Today was my six week post op appt. My doc was happy about my progress thus far. I've lost a total of almost 40 lbs since surgery. I was about to leave out when the dietician stopped me and requested a sit down. Basically, she wanted to catch up and make sure I was following the diet plan etc. The part that scared me was the example of play food she showed me of what I should be eating. It was a lot smaller portion wise than what I'm actually consuming. I eat almost double of what she showed me. I limit myself to 800 calories a day which includes 1-2 snacks. The Dr. actually suggested 1200-1400! The NUT told me not to concentrate on calories at all, but to monitor portion size instead and to cut out snacking. I feel like my way has been working pretty well so far and this person just totally kicked my legs from under me!! Do I continue on my merry way or listen to her?
  7. I'm only one week post. Do I eat til my sleeve is full or the recommended amount of 2 ozs per meal? What are some telltale signs of a full sleeve?

    Massage?

I got sleeved on 4/22 also! I wouldn't lay on my stomach even if there's no pain. Talk to your doc about your concerns during your follow up. Mine is Tues! Good luck!
