MammasMelting got a reaction from Wolfgirl1978 in Bigger sips today...concerned
Well said Dixie...I'm 9 days out today too and I searched the same keywords and found this is normal. That said its such a big site...so repeats are fine. However you nailed it by saying "any advice" being a blanket question. We need to not be so sensitive here...take the advice or don't.
Butter is the picture of true success!!! His discipline is crazy and his results show that. I'm ALWAYS looking for his replies because he lives it and I personally need to hear the truth. I feel if someone takes his advice as offensives in any of his posts or replies, then maybe they weren't ready for this.

If you had done as much research as you say, then you'd realize that your statement 'i am nervous....sleeve is bigger than i want' couldn't be very realistic. And you'd also realize that that comment/question is asked a lot on here. You probably are an intelligent person. I am one too. And even I had a weak moment a week or so after surgery and asked questions that i knew the answer to just because i needed reassurance. The whole sleeve experience can be surreal.
Then you asked for 'any advice.' That was a blanket request for advice, which Butter gave you. And then you got upset when he gave you straightforward advice. That's not very fair, IMHO. Many of us are just trying to help newbies and answer questions as best we can according to our experiences.
If Butters 'get off the ledge' offended you, then just ignore that and take the healthy advice that he gave you. However, many of us here know Butter's style and that's how he writes, with a little humor injected throughout his posts. His supportive advice is posted all over this forum and I for one am glad that he has stuck around to help us.

MammasMelting got a reaction from Butterthebean in bread/tortilla.......when?
I myself am giving up the crap that got me to where I am. I'm 8 days out and stopped bread, starches a month before my pre-op diet even. I felt so much better and don't want to go down that road again. A little hear and a little there eventually adds up. Again that's just me and dedicating 110% to this lifestyle change. So if you're gonna do it just try as everyones different...ive known some 4 days out...some 4 months.

MammasMelting got a reaction from Catherine Shinn Habhab in This Is Just A Bump In The Road...i Hope!
How did yours turn out? My wonderful boyfriend told me not ot worry...worse case is the hospital is out of network, so after insurance the hospital fees will be 30%...and MOST hospitals take a small down payment and bill you the rest, as they cant get an exact cost until after the procedure. I'm hanging onto that right now.

Hey all...newbie here too. My dates is Dec 5th...woo hoo. My insurance, United Heatlh Care took 2 days to approve ( I thought it was 7 but I was wrong ). Already did the Cardio stuff, NUT and Psych Eval....My 1st consult visit was 10/10/12, so this is moving right along. I PRAY the procedure, recovery and weight loss is just as easy. I would love to keep up with all the Dec peeps to support and guide each other along...send a friend request if interested as well. XOXOXO

I have told my closest friends, my family, and a few FB friends...so far EVERYONE is excited for me. I told my boss too, as I took some time off, and she is excited as well.
Eventually I will tell all of FB and work ( of course will notice ), but I want to wait until I am done.

This is EXACTLY why I don't want to share with most co-workers. I get that they care, and they want to make sure I researched it ( they for the most part have not)...and since I don't talk about it with them, to them it may seem like a sudden thing. They have no idea this is all I have thought about since 2009! So I figure best to tell them when I'm done...once it's done they can say all they wont. I feel before hand we need all the positive we get to encourage us, help motivate us to not only lose, but to heal as well.Let us be the example of "Look I did it..I beat the odds"! Then we can say "neeener neeener neeener"...

MammasMelting got a reaction from thesmilos in Scale/non Scale Victories And Wish List
So, I am putting this here so I can ALWAYS come back to it. Plus I would like to know what others victories are, and what you want to do or DID as a result of weight loss. This may already be out there, but I couldn't find it. Below is just a few off the top of my head that I truly desire.
Here are my wants to do:
Hot air balloon
Ballroom dance class
Roller Coaster
Horseback riding
Hiking
Skydiving
Helicopter ride
Cruise
My scale victories I will celebrate:
299
250
Onederland ( 199 or less )
160 ( ultimate goal )
Maintain 160-170
And my non scale victories that will keep me going:
Size 18 Jeans
Size L shirt
Walk up house stairs NOT winded
Walk 1 mile
Walk 2 miles
Sit in a theater seat and have at least 1 inch space ( more is better )
Have a bah towel actually fit around me and COVER me
CROSS MY LEGS
There are more, so many more I am sure as there are so many restrictions on my life as of this day. I am sure once I see others I will go "Oh yeah...that too"!!
