Met with my Dr today for a consultation! I have never met such a wonderful Dr in my life! He was sent from heaven!!!
I need to meet with a nutritionist and psychiatrist which I have already scheduled for this Wednesday. Then all I will need is a letter of recommendation from my pcp. One step closer to beginning this amazing journey! So excited

Frank69 reacted to deedeemuffin in Bread...Why did I do it? :(
I am a week away from being 3 months Post-op. I have stuck to my NUT recommendations pretty closely. Today I was immersed in homework. Before I realized it 3pm & I hadn't eaten anything & I didn't have anything in the house. I decided to order a salad to be delivered from my local Italian place. Last minute I added on garlic bread with mozzarella & a side of sauce. My delivery came. I put the salad in the fridge & went to town on the garlic bread. This is the 1st time that I've had bread since surgery. I ate 4 pieces of bread dipped in sauce. I immediately felt like my sleeve was super tight & yucky so, I tried to drink a few sips of Water. It was like I could feel the water sitting in my chest. Shortly after I threw up, but a very small amount. My sleeve still feels horrible & so do I. Never again!

Is it diet? Other than being concerned about carbonation (which may not be as much of a factor with the ice), the next major concern is the level of sugar in the drink. If it's not diet, it's probably SUPER LOADED with sugar! I would stay away.........
If you really must have a "fizzy" drink to slay your craving, buy a small diet carbonated fountain drink with lots of ice, Swirl it around to get most of the carbonation out, and just have a few sips. It's likely your stomach won't be crazy about it in any case and you won't really want more.
But my advice would be to avoid altogether, if you can.

So, my dear husband - ALWAYS gave me chocolates for Valentines Day - even when I pleaded with him prior to the day not too - chocolate is my weakness. This year (I was sleeved Dec 3, 2012) I didn't think I had to ask him not to give me candy and I was right!! He gave me a Nike+fuel Bracelet. I can set fitness goals and track my progress on my phone and computer. He's a dear, dear man.
LOL, it took surgery for him to finally 'hear' me tho!!

JennyBeth. It sounds like a really complicated problem you have on your hands, that you have been dealing with for years. I won't try to offer a solution in a few lines in a weight loss forum.
BUT KNOW THIS - No situation was made worse by a person being fitter, stronger, healthier and feeling better about themselves.

My husband fights depression, anxiety, and OCD. I understand your difficulty. I also understand his an am there for him no matter what. I love him. Our marriage is by no means perfect but its something we constantly work on. I try to encourage him to enjoy life and to do things that will make him happy.
What's he done for me? Well he's a great father to our children, a hard worker, and sometimes a great husband haha. He didn't support wls at all. But I did it anyway. There were times I didn't think we'd make it. Now that I'm healthier and happier, we both are happier together. Don't give up on him. Fight that battle when it comes, don't have it in your mind that your marriage will fail.
    Good luck!

    30 SECOND COCOA COOKIE
1 teaspoon butter or coconut oil
1/2 scoop vanilla whey Protein Powder, 1/6 cup *
    1 teaspoon cocoa
2 teaspoons granular Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda **
    Water, as needed
In a small microwaveable bowl, heat the butter in the microwave about 20 seconds or until melted. Skip this step if using coconut oil. If you're using liquid Splenda, mix it into the melted butter or oil now. Stir in the whey powder and granular sweetener as well as you can. It will be very dry and crumbly. Gradually add water, about 1/8 teaspoon at a time, just until you can form the mixture into a ball that isn't too sticky to handle. Some oil might ooze out of the dough but that's fine. Keep the dough ball in the bowl, flatten it into a cookie shape and microwave on HIGH 15-30 seconds or until the dough puffs up and looks set and dry to the touch. Don't over cook it or it will come out very dry. In my microwave it takes about 15-20 seconds. Cool and eat.Makes 1 cookie
    * I used Body Fortress brand.
** I used 1 teaspoon spoonable Truvia (not the kind in packets) that I ran through my coffee grinder to make powdered "sugar". I measured it after grinding.
With granular Splenda: Per Serving: 117 Calories; 6g Fat; 13g Protein; 3g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 2g Net Carbs With liquid Splenda:Per Serving: 113 Calories; 6g Fat; 13g Protein; 2g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 1g Net Carb

Frank69 reacted to NtvTxn in Maintaining and snacks
June 11th will be three years for me. I reached goal in just under five months and kept going. The dietitian told me to add calories back into my diet to get all I needed to maintain and gain back a little if I needed to. I was looking 'gaunt' and needed to put about fifteen lbs back on from my very lowest. Grazing, snacks....???!!!! I'm comfortable doing that, I'd done it for years, although I'd broken that habit. Now though, it's easier to back off if necessary. I put on several pounds and then I started this maintenence business! My question is this....what do YOU snack on??!!! I'll split a piece of Star Bucks pumpkin bread with my husband and I am pretty sure I'm addicted to LF Graham Crackers with a little Natural Peanut Butter on them. 2 large crackers is one serving, 140 calories. I will eat 1.5 a couple of times a day. I like the Snackwell's vanilla Cookies, but I'm backing off those a little. I was keeping nuts in the house, but for a fourth cup, the calories are way too high, I don't care how 'healthy' they are. So, any ideas for something new? Last week I was thinking back to earlier in my journey and I picked up sugar free choc pudding and sugar free Jello. I like them both with a little FF or SF Cool Whip or Reddi Whip. C'mon, help me out here, my brain is numb I think!! Oh, I also have Whole Wheat Shredded Wheat, I will eat a half cup, dry, just to snack on. It's good for me and I love the 'crunch'.

I think your loss of 12.5 lbs is great. You are starting out at a lower weight-so your loss is going to be slower. Make sure you follow the rules- Protein first, no carbs, 64 oz Water daily, exercise ect. Your sleeve will not fail you!!! Just give it some time and have a little patience.
