suzthebrit got a reaction from medic1977 in What can I take for headaches?
I emailed my surgeon yesterday because I had a headache and only Advil helps them. He wrote back and said they are fine, in small amounts. He said you would have to take 2 800mg ibuprofen a few times a day for months for it to do any harm. He said that a couple here and there for headaches/muscle pain would be fine. Thank god! I was freaking out!

Lol Iggy! You can fly to the uk but you won't find me there! I have been living in Philadelphia for over 19 years. Picked up the nickname then and it's stuck around.
Oh and rain has to be right in England because you don't get much of anything else!!! :-)
You can knock me up anytime Iggy!!!

It sounds like your stomach may be still swollen from the surgery and that is what is causing the vomiting. If you are able to get Water down then there is a product by Kellogg's called K2o. It's a powder that you put in your water and has 5g of Protein in it. I know that's not much but it's something.
There are also these drinks called Kellogg's Breakfast to go and they are very very liquidy and taste great. They also have 10g of protein.
Are you taking any Vitamins? B12 is especially important to help with energy. You can get drops or pills that go under your tongue that you absorb quicker than a pill.
I am so sorry that you have had all these issues. I can't give you any "it'll get better" advice as I am only a week out but I truly hope you are on the mend soon :-)
Keep us updated.

Well said Iggy!!! I couldn't agree with you more that if your story scares somebody then they are not ready to have the surgery. Bad things can and do happen! Just because they didn't happen to us doesn't mean they don't happen. This is where compassion comes into play. Congratulations to ASleeve for having uncomplicated surgery (if she did indeed have surgery) but that does not take away from the fact that more than a few people will have complications from the surgery. It's them we should support more than the ones saying"oh, the gas pain is so bad!".

How about ordering Soup. I can get much more soup in than anything else. And that's a real meal.

That's called head hunger. You just think you are hungry. If you're stomach is dumbly its probably due to gas. I had that too and couldn't decide if I was hungry, gassy, full or what.

Well I thought I was slow. 36lbs in 10 weeks but 10 of those pounds were in week 1&2!!!
Hey, a pound a week is 52 pounds in a year! I'll be we'll at goal before a year's out if I stay at this slow rate (which I hope doesn't happen!)
I'm happy as long as the scale goes down and not up anymore!!!
I don't get nearly enough Water. I hate water. Even with mio it's still hard to get down. I'm working on it though!

suzthebrit got a reaction from chi/catlady in Today i found out that i streched my pouch
Where did you have your surgery? This all sounds very bizarre to me! I couldn't drink a medicine cup of Gatorade until 3 days post op! I couldn't even imagine trying to eat a cream of anything Soup.
Sorry I have no advice and I hope this gets figured out for you soon. There is absolutely no way you've stretched your sleeve! Demand a swallow test. You can see on the X-ray machine how small (or not) your stomach is.

suzthebrit got a reaction from gmanbat in Making vomit
Sounds like you are eating too much or too quickly. Try measuring your food and do not put more than half a cup on your plate. That should be mostly Protein and some veggies. When eating use the 20,20,20 rule. Chew 20 times, wait 20 seconds between bites and anything that is left after 20 mins push away.
Oh and no drinking while eating, ever. Always wait at least half an hour after eating before drinking anything.
I hope this helps. Vomiting is like a near death experience to me so I try to avoid it at all costs!

suzthebrit got a reaction from indian in Sleeve holds too much food
It took me three times of scrambling two eggs to realize that I could only eat one! Now my 10 year old says to me at every Breakfast "mum, you can only eat one egg"!

We're both trying to find as many posts as we can that don't start with "stall" or "hair loss" or "I hate my sleeve."

Yep, I'm 11 weeks out and that's about all I can get in. One poached egg and half a slice if wheat toast is as much as I get down in one sitting. It's great!!!

suzthebrit got a reaction from Chubarella in Sleeved and can't stop vomiting
I vomited for hours and hours after surgery. Your stomach and esophagus are still really swollen so I would not be too alarmed. I would call your surgeon and check with them. Do your best to keep as much Water down as you can and just do what you can. Keep an eye on your hydration levels and call your doctor ASAP.

suzthebrit got a reaction from coexist23 in What i won't miss about been over weight.
I thought I was the only one that did this!
Not going to my kid's school things because I was 'the fat mom'.
Feeling self conscious everywhere I go.
Getting bruises on my hips because they stick out further than everything else and have no choice but to bump into things.

It just goes on and on my friend,
Somebody started writing it not knowing what it was,
And they'll continue writing on it just because
