You might not feel your limit with Full liquids. I know that I just downed a Campbell's Soup at Hand in less than 10 minutes. And I know that its only because its as smooth as Water. I wouldn't worry too much about not feeling your limit with them honestly. If its allowed on your plan by your doctor I'd try some cream of wheat. I ate some of that at lunch and honestly, I have about 1/4 of a cup if that and I totally felt full into my throat even.
I'd say that as long as you can get your water/protein intake in, you should be celebrating

Besides the post nasal drip I've got today (having to sleep on my back does that to me) I'm doing ok. So far yesterday I got about 50g of Protein in and 40oz of fluids. Today is better so far. Almost got one of my shakes down and 26oz of fluids. Working on an Isopure but I'm just not feeling well today. About to go hop back in bed and sleep for awhile.

I got 50g of protein in by drinking an Isopure with 40g in it. I haven't been successful in getting all of my Protein shakes. I want to get the Protein Shakes in but I just can't anymore. So I forgot about dry non-fat milk, bought it to put in things to boost the protein. Apparantly not feeling good yesterday meant developed a cold yesterday evening. Not pleasant at all. But I'm getting in fluids and sleep is awesome!

Not to be crude, but you'd think going only every 2weeks that there would be....well, a big build up? Once you can start eating more that may happen, so you do need to work on getting things moving a bit quicker.
And don't forget, if it's a concern, do go see your doctor. Good luck!

I was one week post op yesterday......I am getting to the point where I can't choke down any more cream Soup, Jello or pudding. I am not wanting a burger or anything like that I am just ready for the next phase that includes a little mashed potatoe, veggie, soft fruit, a lttle cottage cheese, maybe even a hard boiled egg mashed up. I have had no issues what so ever, in fact I was no longer taking pain meds 2 days post op. I realize that we need to give our bodies time to recover just having a hard time with so little variety at this point. Cream soup, sugar free jello, sugar free pudding and yogurt one can only have so much until it's hard to take at least for me it is. I am ready for the next step on this journey. Waiting to hear back from the MA for my surgeon I would not try to move on without permission. We all need to practice a little patience I guess......and that has never ever really been my strong trait.

I have had a lot of back pain and I wasn't sure if it was because of being "backed up" so I went to the store tonight and got prune juice. I had about 4oz and within the hour I was able to go. Hoping the tension in my back goes away now

I cannot imagine eating anything solid at this point (I'm on day 4 post-op). As stated above it isn't worth losing your life. This surgery is a life commitment to changing your eating and exercise habits. All you can do is live & learn and move forward.

I'm on Post Op day 3 and I'm taking two pills by mouth. Pepcid and Lofton are pills for me and they're so small that I can't even feel them. I also take a sublingual Levsin. But I consulted my surgeon after I found out that I would be taking pills and what she advised is that as long as the pills are smaller than a plain M&M they can be taken. If they're bigger than that, it will cause blockage. This is one of her FOREVER rules.
After having been on the site for only a few days (I wish I had found this forum before my surgery as it would have been helpful) I can definitely see that each doctor is different and as long as you're listening to your own personal doctor and explaining everything that is happening to you in a timely manner, you should follow their instructions. I find it very interesting how many different ways the surgery can be handled.
I almost had a panic attack after reading this and everyone saying you shouldn't be on pills but when I called my surgeon, she advised that everyone is different (patients and doctors alike) and because she's done so many surgeries she finds that people can handle the pills as long as they do it responsibly and according to her instructions.
But I would definitely say that you should make a call to your surgeon each time something seemingly serious occurs. So good instructions everyone I appreciate you opening my eyes to the ways others are doing things so that I question why I'm doing something so that I educate myself to the utmost about my surgery!

Despite my mean sounding post Scotty, I really do care. I don't want anyone to suffer the pain I suffered or to be asked multiple times in the night if you need to see a Chaplin. You don't want to face death for a burger. I know it's hard and would add that perhaps you might want to make an appt with a therapist who specializes in eating disorders or perhaps a support group locally. I get wanting more But I also want to be clear to you what you risked. You likely wouldn't put a gun to your head and play Russian roulette right? What you did was actually the same game.
Talk to folks here, talk to your doctor, do it daily or hourly or whatever it takes for you not to take a risk like that again. If you are lucky you only got sick. But also because you have taken that risk you need to watch for leak symptoms for the next few weeks. Some are very slow to show. I hope you don't have an issue! But don't risk it again

I know it seems pricey, but, you only add one scoop to 8 oz of liquid. I add mine to 16oz of crystal light. That's 20g of Protein. To sf pudding or a 4oz container of greek yougurt, I add 1/2 a scoop. I don't know how far out you are, but, you should be getting protein from other foods. Also, I don't spend anywhere near as much money on groceries as I used to so what I save I can afford the protein powders, flavored and unflavored. Just don't add the powder to hot liquids over 130 degrees or it will clump up.
