  1. I have Aetna POS and they have a 100% no on any WLS. Be grateful you have it covered either way. I would ask for it in writing to cover any future issues. I personally went to MX to avoid all this. Good Luck to you!
  2. now that you are aware of the issue on day 2, I think you are more than capable to walk away. Go grab the food you brought ( you did bring food right?) and just have a great day. no need to throw up again.
  3. I think its perfectly normal! I was headed down to Mexico by myself and I was as cool as a cucumber! I was ready, on a mission and just looking forward to being a tiny girl. My goal was 130 lbs and to be in a size 2-4. I am mostly there!
  4. So excited for you! I will never forget the day I hit that! I was 201 one day and 197 the next! Its just around the corner
  5. It's not a stall. A stall is no loss of weight or inches for longer than 30 days. You my dear are no where near that. If you choose to panic that’s up to you. Did you measure prior to surgery? You may be losing inches. Also photos weekly? I know there are a few times that I did my weekly measurements and photos with nothing to show for it but my photos showed a great improvement in my body shape. Good luck, sounds like you are just fine however!
  6. I did not exercise at all during the first 10 months and the weight fell off. I started to walk 3-5 miles a minimum 2xs a week and it STOPPED and I actually ended up gaining about 5 lbs. Muscle you say? NO, that argument is ridiculous. I stopped walking because my work out partner had plastics so I stopped and the weight is literally coming off again. I just gt into a size 8 after being stuck in a size 10 for 4 months. Unless you want to slow your weight loss or stop losing then I would say stop working out. Again this is my and my work out partners experience.
  7. I went to MX and I kept it really light, I was there 3 nights, 2 in hospital 1 in hotel then came home. i had comfy yoga type pants on with a pocket for the drain, flip flops for walking ( WALK A LOT!!!!!!) I couple of snug loose tanks like old navy types, a zip up sweat shirt to stay warm or take off if hot. I brought some make up and some travel size soaps and shower items. I was really happy I brought snug clothing, It helped me feel not so out of control with my body. The morning after my surgery I kinda fell apart and felt really bad and my coordinator told me to shower and I did with all my special items and it made me feel soooo good and like a new woman. I felt fresh and clean and clear headed. Also brushing my teeth helped sooo much. I did not spend alot of time sitting or sleeping ebcause I was much mroe comfortable being up and moving, walking, rocking back and forth whatever to get the gas out of my chest. So I would pack personal hygene products and snug stretch clothing as well as your phne charger.
  8. I second Recycled post. Nothing but Clear liquids to do something drastic to get you over the hump. That will help at least.
  9. I love the way you write, paint such a picture. I personally have had a couple of those "whoaa is that me??" moments mostly because I was looking for them and founds them in the weekly photos I take! Even a week of no weight or inches lost but my body shifted a lot of weight and I was gifted thighs that don't touch. From others perspectives I hardly get the WOW from friends and co workers and family that see me daily or weekly. I do get the gushing wow you have changed into a beautiful person by my friends and family I don't see but once or twice a year. That’s where the big comments comes in. Don't fret and go look for people you haven't seen or connected with in a while. Also I share my before and after photo with strangers, big ego boost because all they see if the you in front of them and that fat person in your phones photos. Good luck and just be at peace with the new Demi Moore inside you.
  10. That’s terrible, I can't imagine a work place where this would happen. Maybe look for a new company to work for? Doesn't seems like a good environment. I can offer no real advise because you cannot change or control people only how you respond and react. Just ignore the behavior and smile.
  11. Ugh I misspelled a couple words, How do you edit? Or just overlook my couple typos K!
  12. I used dr. Ponce de leon, I think every single one of us has had these fears. My husband was very quiet about all this when I started talking to him last November (2012) about it. Then one day I said tell me what your fears are because I have come to the conclusion this is what I Am doing with or with out you and I want you to be ok with this. We finally spoke about his fears and concerns and he was very much on board with this. I worked very hard to be sure we had enough money in the bank for the surgery and for any time I needed off. I am a realtor, the main bread winner and I needed to be set for a few months! These were his fears as well. WHAT IF???? So I asked everyone. If I needed help I would go to the ER and get help. Period. They cannot not help you. I was close enough to the boarder/San Diego that they would take me there by ambulance if necessary. When I got home and needed something I had a doctor who takes cash petients and could help me. Guess what I had an amazing expereince! I had a safe surgery! I was back on my feet, flying home in fantastic condition 3 days later. I took the largest listing of my life the next day I was home (I had surgery Friday afternoon came home monday). I only needed to see a docotor once to get some blood work done and my insurance covered it and I needed to try a couple acid reducer until I found the right one ( over the counter zantex) . I lost large amounts of weight and my giggest complaint is how am I going to keep up with my work clothing. LOL I personally have sent 3 freinds and 1 stranger down to Dr. Ponce De Leon and they have all had the exact same experience I did. If you are not feeling these fears I would be concerend for you, the fact that people who love you are worried thats a good thing. BUT this is your body, this is your surgery, this is your money. You go there with your head held high, get your stomach out of your body and come home. I can't wait to see your results! Sarah If you want a texting buddy I do that for people. just PM me

  14. I take zantex for any acid issues. It's awesome for immediate relief and 24 hour as well. The moment I feel a little burning I pop one and its gone.
  15. It was the 45 lb mark for me to even notice much of a body/clothing difference. But let me tell you do not let other peoples comments or lack of discourage you. I have lost 110 lbs and by all means 1/2 the person I was and I do not look like the same girl and there are some people who never say anything, even after not even knowing I was doing this ( like clients who buy homes from me and se me 1 or 2 times a year). I had a client say I don't want to offend you but did you lose weight? I laughed and said yes and its ok to say something, because they said they didn't want to say something and have a negative or schocked responce from me. So people may think something but not say something in fear that they are wrong or you are embarrassed about it.
  16. That’s awesome for you. I have been the same stinking size for a few months now. I started working out in October and it halted my weight loss like a stubborn mule! My working out partner has plastics and she is out of commission for a while and I started to lose again. Me and exercise are not friends. LOL Stall broken
  17. I would honestly not buy anything till after your surgery is over. Also buy from GNC so you can take powders back incase you do not like them. I got a small sample pack from unjury for the chicken broth but it was super salty. Just relax and purchase it when you are in your first week.. You should be on clears and more worried about staying hydrated than drinking Protein right away. Week 2 is generally when people can be on full liquids and its easier to add in items like that. Good luck.
  18. It thought I stopped about 8 months out, but all of the sudden I was like an inferno and couldn't sleep for a few days and just felt emotional and just not myself at all. I lost 10 lbs this week. It just begins again. Just keep staying on course and move more it will start to come off as it needs to.
  19. I was taking pills about 2 days after. No problems with anything here. I take Ibuprofen often and don't have much issue
  20. I notice that By pass patients have that sunken look. They look much older and I think it has a lot to do with how they lose weight as opposed to they way sleevers lose weight. I am only 34 and the wrinkle situation isn't a think for me yet. But I have been told I look younger and healthier and brighter. I think you are going to do just fine and look 15 years younger!
  21. Yep and it gets easier and easier EVERYDAY.
  22. I found that I couldn't drink water at all. I have to add something anything to it. The water drops (mio, koolais, dasani) have a silicone in it and makes it easier on your tummy, I loved hot/warm tea. Keep all your fluids room temp or really cold and find out what your tummy likes. You must get fluids in you and that is the most important thing right now.
  23. THIS!!! I will never understand the sadistic pre op. No one has ever had their doctor open them up to measure their precious liver. and then measured it before they did their stomach. They use this Special tool called a liver re-tractor to hold it back anyhow. There is a lot more room in there than they let on especially when they blow you up with gas. I have an actual video of my surgery. I cannot comment on if it gets easier because I did not have a pre op. I don't think it would however. How could it get easier? Once your stomach is gone you won;t have any desire to eat. your hunger will be gone, well for most of it is. Some people still feel hunger. I pray you are not one of them. When I am "hungry" I just feel empty and eat by the clock. I hope your surgery was as easy for you as it was for me and I wish you all the success in the world!
