  1. your body is confused. It went inot starvation mode. Began to store and save fat and Water etc.. in order to survive. So when you begin to eat your body will keep that food storage in case it has a starvation episode again.

Honestly I would not worry about it. Feed your body! Make sure you up your calories a bit, lots of water and move you will get back on track. I know when I say up your calories sounds counter productive but it works. Give your body fuel!

  2. That was a big NSV for me too. I went on Vacation in August 5 months after my surgery and I went to a hotel and used a towel and it wrapped around me like a normal person.

And I got calf high boots with no need to worry about getting extra wide calf and in fact they are too loose on top.

Super happy for you I know how it feels to have things like this be big events for you!

  3. I am a Mexico patient and no I did not have a lot of after care.

I did my own research and began looking at alot of post op idea and diets and necessities online. I go to my PCP on occasion ( at first it was every 8 weeks) to get a metabolic panel to make sure IA m good with my blood work and so far everything is fine or off the charts. I do not take a Vitamin anymore. They tend not to be compatible with my body. my b-12 is too high in my bloodwork despite taking them 1x a week. I eat VERY well and I am mindful of what goes into my body.

If you want that help then I am sure you can go hire a nutritionist to guide you but there is enough information out there that I did not feel I needed it for me.

    Good luck.

  4. I dislike anything in a box or package. I shop on the exterior of the grocery store. the longer the shelf life the shorter the human life. I typically eat things that spoil.

If it has about 5 or less ingredients it goes into my body. If there are so many ingredients and I cannot pronounce most of them it does not touch my lips.

    That's just me.

I am sure you can make your own frozen type sammiches with a dough that has less carbs and better fillings and seal it with a sammich cut and seal device.

I would defiantly re-evaluate your frozen food choice.

But if you like them then go for it.

  5. I am 5'-5" and I started at 264.Iin 8 months I have gotten to 170. I wear a size 8 pants and a M top.

I don't have a goal in mind but 130 would be ideal for me. Once I hit 150 I will have plastics done and see how much skin I am carrying around ( likely 10-15 lbs) then evaluate if I need to work on losing or maintaining

You will be successful if you put in the work. Make correct eating choices, drink your fluids , stay active etc...

It's almost impossible not to be successful unless you are hell bent on self abusing.

Your going to do great and will not be the biggest one on the room any more. I judge myself against everyone and I find myself asking am I still the fattest one here?

  6. Your right! you should start your day with an organic pure Protein and an egg is perfect for that.

I got off the shakes as soon as I could, no need for all those chemicals in my body. But to each its own.

I also do not experience hunger. I can go all day and not eat and I don;t ever feel anything. I sometimes feel empty but never hunger.

I have a grouchy tummy some days I can eat anything and be ok and other days I will eat something normal and be pukey all day long. I think its pretty normal.

  7. I weaned off shakes as fast as I could. I do not like the chemicals.

EVERYTHING I eat has Protein in it. Period. Thats how you get it in.

    eggs, cheese, Cottage cheese

    Sausage, bacon, Breakfast meats,

lunch meat of all kind. Currently my fav is butter basted turkey from Fresh and easy. Roast beef and cheese.

Soups (easy to add any kind of Protein to that)

    Yogurts

    Peanut Butter

Nuts of all kind especially Almonds

    Fish fish and more fish

    Legumes

  8. I did not have a pre op of any kind, I personally think it is unnecessary, just my opinion.

I did have hair loss from month 3-5. Its growing back beautifully. I wasn't worried about it. It's going to happen or it's not. Not much you can do about it. Just embrace it. I have yet to see a post saying OMG I am bald. LOL you would have to lose over 50% of your hair before anyone would notice anyway.

    Enjoy your life.

  9. Well everyone has covered the basics. I eat out 1 time a week. Its breakfast on Sundays.. My husband gets this massive omelet with ham and bacon and I get the corner 1/16 and I eat that with some, about 10, of their specialty potatoes. Covers me all day.

My husband and I eat way better now when we go out and he is so supportive of me and he has lost about 50 lbs himself just by eating what I eat( just a regular portion).

We went out to Maggianos ( Italian) for dinner this past weekend for our anniversary and we shared the parm crusted talapia. So great. He got a side of spaghetti and I had a bite. Pasta is no fun anymore for me.

So the point is, as I am sure you get it now, The point of this surgery is to live a normal life. Eating out is a normal part of life for most people. Enjoy your world.

  10. You probably won't feel much restriction. Being on liquids opens your P valve more often emptying it a lot. You will feel more restriction the more solid your food will get in week 3.

Your "weird" incision is probably above your belly button and that's a different type of wound. Its where they pulled your stomach out of your body. It will be sore for about 2 weeks. You should be feeling better and more better in about a week.

You sound normal but consult your doc if you are having issues.

  11. Awesome! Good job on not freaking out.

So many people do and it solves nothing. I hope that you are taking measurements.

I know I see a lot of changes in week to week photos and measurements as opposed to scale changes.

Also its not a stall unless you are not losing weight or inches in over 30 days. So it sounds like you are chugging right along.

    Keep up the good attitude.!
