  1. i did develope blood clots after my procedure - i have none of the risk factors listed by gman. i was released from the hospital on sunday 12/31/12 and i was back in the hospital on 01/06/13 because i got dehydrated. what i thought was a simple routine turned in to a 6 day stay in the hospital. i am so thankful they ran test on me to be sure i didnt have a leak, thats when they noticed i had a very VERY large group of blood clots around my liver, splen, and in that area. i thank God everyday that things turned out the way it did for me - - i had no symptoms (or so i thought) i thought i was just feeling pain because of the procedure. my breathing was a little shallow at times, i would get winded when walking around, and i felt pain directly under my rib cage. i did have a very strange bowl movement that should have triggered my to call my doc sooner - but i figured it was all apart of the healing process. while in the hospital directly after my surgery i had the cuffs on my legs, i was given a blood thinner shot every 8 hours, and they had me walking every hour. as of today my team of docs still not sure how i developed the clots. they figured it has to due with my rheumatoid arthritis and some type of lupus factor they found. so now i am on blood thinners, 1 shot a day till they switch me over to the pill warfarin (Coumadin) next month - plus i had to re-evaluate my RA meds to be sure the are compatable with my blood thinner meds sorrry about the rambling..... its been an interesting time in my life since my surgery date 12/28/12 - buy the grace of God i am still here

  5. I have dreadlocs down to the middle of my back. I'm so worried how the loss/thinning is going to affect my locs. I've been thinking about cutting them into a short bob style, so the sure weight of them won't make things worse.
  6. No repair, it wasn't necessary. It's worse now than before surgery on 12/28/12
  7. I don't have an answer, but I'm going throuugh the same thing. I'm 6 weeks out and I can feel bubbling up in my throat - I take nexium once a day. I'm not sure what else to do
  8. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! GOD GAVE US 1 MORE YEAR - SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!!!!!!! Celebrate LIFE EVERYDAY

  10. I was sleeved on 12/28 and was wondering what type of exercise everyone is doing?
  11. Well I'm finally home after 5 nights and 6 days in the hospital. My sleeve is great, thank God - it appears everything is healing nicely. My blood clots however appear to be a blood condition related to my rheumatoid arthritis. If it was not for me getting sleeved & making a bonehead move, the clots may have never been discovered and my life could have ended tragically.
  12. I'm in the hospital for dehydration and blood clots. Please pray for me.
  13. I was sleeved on 12/28. This past Saturday morning I made a bonehead move and ate a cheesy tot, while getting breakfast for my family at a drive throu. I was sick the rest of the day and was unable to continue with my full liquids. Buy Sunday morning I was suffering from dehydration. Long story short, I'm in the hospital & they found blood clots in some veins around my GI track. Anybody's been through this before?
  14. I am NOT looking forward to going through this in a few months. I have dreadlocs and I'm so worried about how its going to affect my hair in the long run. I might have to cut them off and start over :'(
  15. Today I plan on weighing myself when I go to the gym. I won't buy a home scale because I don't want to be a slave to it. I need to take my measurements to see if anything has changed since my DOS
  16. My doc prescribed for me nexium in the powder form
  17. I weighed myself for the first time yesterday and I was 1lb over day of surgery weight... I think I have gotten out most of the gas so hopefully the scale should start heading south.
  18. Aetna took 10 days business days to apporve me - it felt like a lifetime, especially because of the Thanksgiving holiday and the office being closed
  19. OMG, thats wonderful! I hope to be so lucky the further down the line, or at least for my flair-ups to not be so wicked.
  20. Praying for you to have a speedy recovery. I was just sleeved in 12/28 and the only things I actually took out of my bag was chapstic and gas-x strips
  21. I was sleeved on the 28th also. I'm having the hardest time sipping, I think tomorrow I am going to purchase a sippy cup.
