Pre Op Diet Cheating........anyone?
I tired my hardest to be good during mine, but then again my doctor was very very strict if I didnt loose 10% of my weight before surgery they would not do it.. so I was on my P's and Q;s so to say... plus who wants a fat liver during surgery that could cause serious complications if they accidently injure it..... I say stick to the diet as much as possible its for your benifit and health that they require it .. the month before surgery and after surgery were the hardest but worth every single minute of it. (Note that I did on occasion put somehting in my mouth chew it up and spit it out but I dont consider that cheating since I didnt swallow it ... lol ) November 6th marks my two month post opt and I am already 58 lbs down.... :tongue2:

Weight Stall :(
hey dont feel bad we all loose at different rates I know its discouranging but you had an infection I am sure your body was healing during htat time, when we heal we dont loose... The second and third week after surgery I didnt loose anythign and again this week ... just keep doing what your doing and there is no way that you cant loose wieght with the limited calorie intake ...... also I do one premier protien shake every am 30 protien or I make the orange creme advantage 27 protien .. that way 1/2 of my protien is taken care of first thing in the morning. and yes I dont feel like eating at all after my morning shake..... if I didnt notice the clock saying it was time to eat I probably would not eat at all...... lol but I make sure that I eat lunch and dinner every day.... note that if you dont like the shakes RTD's shakes then try doing the unflavored protien and add it too some crystal light ... that way you get your protien and Water in at the same time..... just keep trying differnt ways to get your protien in.... or try it in some chocolate SF pudding Keep up the good work , it will pay off

Going Bak To Work?
sorry your feeling bad, I was one of the lucky ones that didnt really need the time off , felt great after surgery. I did however take the two weeks alloted by my Doctor to learn how to drink my water and get my protien in before returning to work note that I am now 8 weeks out and feel tired on occasion from long work days...... Now my sister whom also had surgery , was very sick and took 3 weeks off and then worked from home for another 3 weeks because she felt really bad and couldnt work a whole day. Everyone heals differently so I say take the time you need to heal no use being miserable at work..... also are you taking nausea meds ? maybe trying a different one would at least help with the nausea and cramping...

What Does Your Stomach Feel Like When You Eat?
during the first few months your stomach is still healing, there is allot of sweeling and untill you get to soft and solid food you won't feel much restriction. the dencer protien of the item the more restriciton. note I can polish off a whole 5 oz container of yogurt no problem but can only eat 2 oz of chicken and am super full.... I am going on my 8 week mark and my stomach still rumbles with certain food and when I add new items to my diet.

Advice Please!
I am with "Aspiring Evangelist" if you are questioning your surgeon , I would talk to another surgeon , no way would I have surgery with a Doctor that i am second guessing. Sit back and really think about it... your are trusting this doc with your life.... Good luck though with what ever you decide.

are you sure its hunger? I am 2 months out but I hear that reflux can seem like hunger
-
Starving!
I think its head hunger not real hunger. I had the same thing really wanted some food after surgery but I really was not hungry. once you get to have full liquids and soft foods its allot better and that feeling goes away. stay strong and hang in there . the first month is the worst

I eat very little of it cause I mostly eat protien....

What Should I Buy Before My Sleeve Date,
what I found most useful right after surgery was , very comfortable pajamas, a great new book, make sure you have a comfortable place to sit or lay down ... lots of extra pillows a plus...... broth , jello SF, Popscilcles. just dont over buy .... I bought way too much jello and hate it now... small containers to eat from once you start to eat and baby spoons, they have been a life saver to help me keep from eating too fast
