  1. its all trial and error. I say throw those stupid chips out you wont be tempted if they are not there!! I swear whomever invented chips is the devil!!! Tomorrow is a new day and a new day for better choices!!
  2. Sept 9th here!! Ihave a cold that still wont go away over 30 days ...... and like you stalls here and there , some reflux too but overall this is the easiest surgery and I am sooooooo happppy with my results so far , started at 338 down to 275 thats 63 lbs....got 110 more to go to be at goal... note half my weightloss was before surgery... so I think we are were we need to be !!! congrats on your weight loss
  3. totally do not regret this at all.... 63 lbs are gone forever only 110 more to go !!!! yipppie
  4. I was a self pay and deicided not to do it due to it not being done enough and pretty much here they were doing test people??? didnt watn to be someones geany pig
  5. the weight will come off !! totally agree with " AE " above i lost 9 lbs the first week after surgery then nothing for two weeks then like two lbs the week after , so the first month i lost 11 lbs thats its.... now I am just a few days shy of my second month and loosing 20 lbs almost... it will happen
  6. really depends where I go , most places have a health concious fish/ chicken or beef. I forgo the noodles, rice and potatoes and get steamed vegies. if I am confused then i order soup that never fails me. lol i have even order a burger with no bun and ate 1/4 of it with the yummy pickles and ketchup mustard. didnt even miss the bun... lol.
  7. Good luck to you !!! wishing you a speedy /fast recovery
  8. i have lost 63 lbs but think that we have it built into ourselfs that we still see that fatter person..... I know I look better down to size 18 in most pants and 16/18 in shirts... so I feel wonderful
  9. I lost 9 lbs the first week and then nothign for another 2 weeks ..... the first month total I think I lost 11 lbs. but month two I am close to 20 . your body is healing right now , keep the faith there is no way you cant loose weight with the limited calories. stick to the plan and keep doing what your doing it will happen and woosh it will come off. also during the time that I didnt loose wieght in lbs the inches were melting off me. from what I hear we will have many of these stalls some longer some shorter.... ( note that my sister went a whole month after the first week of loosing nothign then woosh 5 lbs) stay strong I know its irritating but it willhappen .. !!!
  10. whoo hoo way to go !!!
  11. I was told they are considered a water and protien since they are clear... .. so I used them right after surgery during my clear liquid stage to get some much needed protien in .. really didnt like them much but they did the job they were intended for....
  12. my doc didnt have me on a pureed food stage but 4 weeks of soft foods after my 2.5 weeks of liquids.... so eggs were delishous after all that liquid..... I lived on eggs, refired beans , yogurt, chili and noodless lasagna for a month... lol
  13. I am still rather new but thought i would chime in since I also researched this..... my research of the two showed you would only loose overall10% more weight with the bypass , in the big skeme of things that is not much weight depending on what you started with. I started at300 so that is 30 lbs more I would loose iwth a bypass. not worth all the side effects... my sister got the by pass and she is two weeks ahead of me so far we are loosing wieght at the same pace..... i keep thinking she is gonna pass me by but has not yet.... so happy I did the sleeve and dont have her issues.... again just my thoughts I am almost 2 months out 63 lbs down... she is 2.5 months out and down 75
  14. I spoke with my doc and we decided to try and stay in the guidlines for a "normal " weight/ BMI for my hieght. I am 5 9 and decided 165 was my number... we shall see, I think that may be too small but hey its somethng to shoot for.... I did however tell my doc that even 200 was a good number for me since I am so tall and large frame I carry my weight very well !!! right now I am excited to hit 250 , I havent weighed under that for over 10 years ..... 20 more lbs for mini goal
  15. thanks for sharing that !!! sounds yummy
  16. Thanks !! I am sure tryng !! good luck to all of you on meeting your goals also
  17. sorry but here is alittle tough love .......... This surgery was not meant as a quick fix and if you haven;t addressed your eating issues then its not gonna work. this is a tool we have been given and its up to each and everyone of us to make the decision that we want to change. Will we be perfect ? NO, Will we make mistakes? SURE ... will we suceed? HELL YA!!! I would suggest seeng a Nutrionalist and also maybe joining a local support group, both of these things would probably help you . DO NOT GIVE UP Start today right now, you know what your doing wrong..... start logging all your food consuption on fitness pal or any other site and log it right after you eat.... rememeber protien first, no more than 1/2 cup at a time, make sure you get in at least 60g of protien each day and once you get to 600 calories thats it for that day. .... I know you can do this , you made the biggest step by having this surgery!!! Good luck to you
  18. I would totally stay away fromt he chips and nuts at this point the reason being that your stomach is still healing and you could hurt it..... so follow your surgeons guidlines..... I am only a few weeks ahead of you but during soft food stage I set up a routine . every Surgeon is differnt but most people on here early on try to get at least 60 protien in daily and 64 oz Water around 5-6 hundred calories.... I set my day up like this and whether i am hungry or not I take in the required items to fuel my body. 7 am breakfast usually just a protien shake premier protien chocolate 8-1030 water 11 am lunch usually egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, refried Beans 12-230 water 3 snack time, maybe some soft cheese or yogurt depend if I feel hungry 6 or 7 depending dinner, noodless lasagna , meatballs with sauce, canned stew , pretty much live on chili .... water for the rest of the night unless I dont have enough protien then I take another protien shake or add some unflavored protien into a SF pudding. I consume around 600 caloriies and try to excerise at least 3 x a week ... I am down 63 lbs and was sleeved on 9-6-12
  19. Hi everyone!! I was sleeved on 9-612 , so far I have lost 63 lbs!! super excited about that really wanted to be down 100 lbs by x mas but don't think that is gonna happen really didnt loose that much weight right after surgery. but this month was allot better. !! anyhow just wanted to say hello and see how much everyone is loosing
  20. congrats !!! your doing so great
  21. wish I could help but I didnt have mine done in mexico, however I hear Dr alverez is awesome..... not sure exaclty where he is located oh yeah and also the jeruselum hosptial in mexico ..... just make sure that you really research whom ever you pick!!! this is your first step to a new you !!! congrats
  22. i get heartburn too... I use tums and that actually helps me.... mine is weird it only happens at night around 7 pm for some reason... doesnt matter what i eat that causes it . sometimes its plain soup. gonna talk to my doc next week at my two month check up to see if I can go back on prilosec or something. when its acting up bad not much i can do either. but what I hate even more is the constipation.... boooooooo
  23. I actually up my calories between to about 700 and for some reason that helped me ... some days I eat up to 800 ... I was sleeved 9-6-12..... I never go over 800 calories...
