These are your old thoughts that are sabotaging you! This is the pattern of thinking you had when on diets before........So now lets see if we can change this pattern to something like, I am so fortunate to have lost these 7 lbs. I know more weight will come off. And try to look at what's around the corner like, 20 lbs coming off........Please don't be disappointed or discouraged because you can't go back to the old eating habits. You have to move forward. Sit back and enjoy the ride now. It is going to be a roller coaster but you've got this.....This is a great start......Cheers to better health and the horrible (LOL) side effects of a hot sexy new body to come.......

I understand! I lost about 20 lb in the 2 weeks preop but only lost 3 lb post-op when I weighed in 2 weeks after my surgery. I'm not sure if that's "normal" or what!
Good luck and keep up the good work! "Nothing good comes easy..sometimes you've gotta fight."

Might take you a few days to stop thinking it was the worst idea ever but it will come around

I feel same way! It seems so slow! I was sleeved Aug 31st. From preop till now I have lost 37 pounds. It seems you read of so many on here that lose so fast, but some of us do not lose that fast. All the responses on your post are very encouraging. I understand your frustration. Although I wonder about my eating cause nothing seems to bother me, I just can't eat very much at a time. Hopefully, because it is slower, it will be like one poster said, no saggy skin and no Hair loss. Please let it be that way!!
We will just have to stick it out and wait for our time, cause it will come!

That's exactly how I've felt...I was sleeved Nov 5. It's just now starting to get better for me. Totally normal to mourn food after surgery. I knew it would be an emotional adjustment but nothing prepared me for the initial shock of missing food/normal amt of food SO much! I think after a few months and weight is down some it will feel worth it. But I'm not gonna lie...the past few weeks I've had a lot of doubts of whether I made the right decision and whether life will be harder now. I feel absolutely ridiculous sitting down to eat with my family or at a dinner party and having 2 oz of food in front of me when everyone else has heaping plates.

I'm exactly 1 week out today, I posted this in another thread but wanted to post here. I ordered a new scale and it came today. I haven't weighed in at all since surgery. I got on the scale today and OMG 339 which means I'm 20lbs down from surgery! OMG! I may have been a few lbs lighter right before surgery because they didn't weigh me the morning of but a few days prior and I was 359 and I didn't have a pre op diet, but still HOLY CRAP! 40lbs all together including pre op weight loss! Any regrets I may have had initially are GONE! I haven't been this weight since 2008 and it's very emotional for me because all I did the last 4 years was work to just get into the 330's range and couldn't- and in ONE WEEK with VSG I have!!
All you who still haven't been sleeved this is the best decision! It will be hard, but its worth it! I have not one regret today!
