  1. Interesting. My surgeon said there was no research that said drinking while eating was harmful. He gave me the go ahead. He is one of the more experienced sleeve docs in the US- kozar out of Reno.
  2. I am one week post op- and my diet calls for full liquids. To me that meant soup- as long as not chunky was fine. Am i right here? I have read how others use a strainer to make sure it is really a liquid- is this necessary? We fully liquify- but it does make it kind of a thicker soup- but not at all chunky. Is this ok?
  3. A few things make it remarkable. Top 2 to me are 1. It literally can cook Soup in the blender in 4-6 minutes. U put cold ingredients in the blender and 5 minutes later u have hot soup. 2. It will chop ice so it is ultra smooth, and u can put fruit in the blender whole seeds and all!
  4. Sleeved last week and after brief pre op diet am already sick of protein shakes! We just bought a vitamix today for about $400- and I am certain that this blender is gonna be the key to this diet being doable. My wife has already used it twice today to make two of the best soups I have ever tasted, and they are high protein and low fat! I can not believe I dropped that much $$$ on a blender, but it is likely the best money I have ever spent. So buy one, even if you have to scrounge the cash- it will be worth it- especially during liquid and smooth phases. If you read reviews you will notice that I am not alone in my wonder- and I am not normally easily impressed- especially with expensive stuff.
  5. Hey guys thanks for the replies. Rootman would u be willing to share how much you have lost to end up with the 10lbs of loose skin? I am 6-4 and 320 and my doc says I will likely lose 80 lbs and he thinks I will have no loose skin- sound right?
  6. I am getting sleeved on Wednesday - my biggest question is after I hit goal will I be able to eat in normal social situations, I do not want to eat like I always have - but would like to be able to split an entree with my wife at a restaurant. What can you guys eat after 1 year?
  7. I think it all depends on the surgery center. Mine is literally attached by a tunnel to the main hospital, and I will stay over night. It ended up saving me $4,000 verses doing it across the street where I would stay an extra night. I will report back how it goes.
  8. So I am 3 days from getting sleeved and I still get nervous. Will I ever be able to eat a "normal meal" again? I am not looking to eat like I always have- but want to have a fairly normal life once I am at goal weight. What do you guys that have reached goal eat in a given day? Can you eat 1/2 a restaurant entree? Do you ever drink through straws? Now that you are at goal are you religious about no drinking 30 min b4 or after meal?
