    Dr. Alejandro Lopez

Happy to be sleeved. Dr. Lopez was great. Sleeved on 12/12/12, down 20 pounds so far.
  2. Dr. Ortiz is great and very skilled. Best wishes to you!
  3. BigFrank - thank you for taking the time to post your positive and inspirational story. You are not alone in shying away from all of the negativity. In fact, I know of at least a hundred or so FORMER users of this forum that have left because of the continued negativity and doom and gloom posts of a select few posters. We grouped together and started a private Facebook page instead where we offer one another positive reinforcement and encouragement - even to those that are having bad experiences and leaks. I'm not really sure why I checked back in this evening, but I'm glad I did and I'm glad I was able to read your post and I look forward to hearing about your POSITIVE progress and the POSITIVE progress of others! Thanks for helping us give 2013 a new start and a bright outlook!
  4. I had my surgery December 12, 2012 and so far so good!
  5. When we came back through from Tijuana to the US, the border guard made us show him all of the medication we were given for our surgery. I have him my pain meds and he gave them back and said they were fine. Everyone's passport was checked and the guard did a facial verification with each one of us. Then we were good to go (after a two hour wait in traffic!!). This happened on Sunday, December 16, 2012.

    Super Saturday Weigh In

I was sleeved on 12/12/12. SW 202. TW 188.2. Total loss 13.8 pounds!
  7. I'm down 13.8 pounds. I'm feeling good except for a little reflux. And, I'm ready for the next phase on the diet (I can start Thursday)!
  8. Hi everyone - my username is mbamom2013 - please add me!
  9. I totally pigged out and gained about 10 more pounds before I started my pre-op diet. It was a total food funeral extravaganza....complete with all the trimmings. I had my surgery on 12-12-12 and am feeling good now.
  10. I'm here in Tijuana now and I came alone. Surgery went fine and the doctors were able to keep the nausea at bay, which was a big concern for me. Drs. Lopez and Osuna did my sleeve at Mi hospital. The hospital is clean and several of the nurses are fluent in English. Make sure the nurses keep your Fluid bags going nonstop. Important! Have a good hiding place in your suitcase for valuables....otherwise they WILL walk off. Also, bring a sleeping mask for your eyes and some earplugs. Someone didn't consider lights glaring in patients eyes during the construction process. It's very noisy. The highway to the border is right across the street and the people waiting LOVE to honk their horns. And finally - bring a hair dryer....the hospital doesn't supply one.... Overall, I am pleased with my decision. I'm glad I had two nights in the hospital and two nights at the hotel before flying home tomorrow. Recovery is no joke! P.S. bring your passport or passport card....really....it's better to be safe than sorry.
  11. In the end, I decided to go to Tijuana - mostly due to cheaper flights. PV looks beautiful if you can swing it!

    Before And After Pic

You look F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!!! What a beautiful face and smile Keep going!!
  13. I hear ya sister!! The coordinators have been interesting to say the least. The lack of professionalism across the board floors me. Makes me want to just go out and start my own Medical Tourism business because I know that I could do a WAAAAAAY better job than what I've seen so far. Now with that being said, I did decide to go with Dr. Lopez and I am using A Lighter Me. I have managed my expectations regarding A Lighter Me and know that the Dr. is the important part and the Dr. is a good one.

    Help! This Is Not Working.

Hi Wendy! I'm going to guess that your body has hit it's first "set point". Some call this a plateau. Do a search for the science/theory behind it (I googled: breaking body weight Set Point). Some things that can help you push through: eat more - change the variety of foods you are eating.....and here's a rather strange one I've heard works wonders: swallow a tablespoon or two of olive oil a day. For exercise, do what is called HIIT, high intensity interval training 3 times during the next week. Sometimes the body needs a little nudge and you have trick it into thinking that it needs to lose more weight. Hope this helps you!!!
