  1. I was told no carbonated drinks ever. It stretches out your sleeve.
  2. Once you have the surgery I don't think you will miss it. I used to drink at least four a day if not more. I stopped two weeks before surgery and that was difficult. But after surgery I can't imagine having anything fizzy. I'm burping and hiccuping and my stomach couldn't handle it.
  3. I like it with Greek yogurt and Splenda.
  4. Hi there. I was sleeved on 3/25. I'm right there with you. My emotions are crazy. I don't get upset when I see I'm losing weight but other things definitely do bother me. I am wondering if you have thought about whether you had any mental reasons for gaining weight. Some people do gain weight to protect themselves from unwanted attention or to feel safe and powerful.
  5. I would change surgeons if I were you. Who is your surgeon anyway?
  6. I had a very small amount of Qdoba tortilla soup with sour cream and cheese. That hit the spot. OMG. I feel so much better now.
  7. Surgeons vary on their requirements and it can depend on what your comorbidities are, what meds you are on and your BMI. Don't assume anything. Just because they didn't mention it doesn't mean you won't need it. Just don't want you to have a realistic idea of what to expect. Good luck to you!
  8. Call your insurance company and ask them what their requirements are. It's not up to the coordinator, it's up to your insurance company. Some of these people who work for surgeons are just so rude.
  9. Are you taking something for stomach acid? Sometimes if you have too much acid it feels like you are hungry.
  10. I'm not going to get healthy if I'm so disgusted by the food that I can't get in enough calories to function, but thanks for the support.
  11. Yes but it tastes odd by itself.
  12. Oh you are my neighbor!!! Hi! And now I miss my Mexican restaurant Chihuahuas. Lol
  13. Cathy where do you live? I'm in Creve Coeur.
  14. Me too! I thought by this time I would have more energy. I'm getting to the point where the mushy foods are making me feel mentally nauseous. You know before I even eat them. I'm so sick of it. I've always been a big texture person and the mushy texture is really getting to be gross. I am eating less because it's so unappealing. There's only so much cottage cheese, mashed potatoes and Greek yogurt one person can take. I want something crispy!!!!
  15. That would scare me too. Is anyone feeling emotional for no reason? I just read someone's post on Facebook about always loving someone and I just wanted to cry.
  16. What? Based on what? Did you not lose weight before the surgery? Why would he say that? Oh my I am so sorry! I just can't imagine.
  17. Take your vitamins, take your calcium and get in 64 oz of fluids at least. That helps with my fatigue but I still get tired. I'm down 14 pounds in two weeks since surgery. I just can't believe it. This all feels so surreal. I'm down 30 from high weight in February, but down only one pants size. That is so strange. Is everyone measuring their waists, hips, and neck?
  18. I don't miss soda. I'm doing enough burping already! I can't imagine.
  19. Down 30 pounds, down a jean size, one pair of shoes is falling off my feet! Shirts fit better! When I lay on my side my ankles don't touch each other.
  20. OMG it's worse than cancer treatment?!?!?! I knew it was bad but damn.
  21. Is she over weight? I think if respond with like "I know how you feel, I was so happy for my friend getting pregnant but crushed to find out they did it in vitro." Or "I was so happy my friend recovered from cancer but then I was crushed to find out they got "the chemo".
  22. You can do it! Rest if you need to! Personally if I was hungry I just had another shake. I didn't limit myself and I lost ten pounds in two weeks. Bariatric Advantage Vitamins are great. It's thirty five bucks for a month worth and they have everything but the Calcium. Look into it, it's less pills to swallow. I was a crabby bitchy mess. The last two days was a weekend and I was holed up alone in our room in bed most of it. Hiding from food!!! You can do it!
  23. Something I don't see a lot of on here but is really bugging me. Maybe I should post elsewhere. Excuse me I'm in a protein haze and coming off an episode with smelling ham that made me have the equivalent of all the PMS I have ever had in my life at once. Trying to sum up....I'm talking to my therapist about how I kind if felt like I didn't exist to most men for a long time. Which felt good in a way but after my divorce, being out on the dating scene at 287 with stretch marks: I'm not sure how I even put myself out there. And I had a lot of doubt about whether my ex husband was still attracted to me after I had my daughter, and it's all carried over to now. Blah I'm not making sense. Carry on. Lol
