8 months out.I used DR. Davidson here in Dallas, Texas.I really liked how he interacts with the patients. He actually eased my mind the day of the surgery when he asked me if he could say a prayer with me and my wife before the surgery.I see him November 30th for my 9 month one on one with him and can't wait because my goal weight is 200lbs and I'm now at 214lbs so I'm working my butt of to get that 14lbs off but is going to be tight because I've slowed so much.I started at 381lbs.I really like hearing everyone stories on here,i just wished i knew about this site when i was first out.

I have not set a target size but look forward to being 150. My current weight is 250 and I wear a size 18-20. I'm bottom heavy so I have no idea how my body will look as the weight starts to fall off!
Looking forward to not shipping in the plus size department! Looking forward to not ordering my boots off line so they fit over my calfs and most of all looking forward to being healthy!!

I have a consult with a surgeon a few weeks back and I didn't like the fact he kept saying you can do whatever you wanted to do. Now do t get me wrong he was very informative and answered all my questions. Adding the fact that my first appointment was a waist of time and money $45 co-pay. He didn't really do anything other then tell me what I had to do and sent me in my marry way. My current surgeon first made me go to a information seminar which was free then I have a consult with him on Friday. During the seminar I asked if I could pick what I wanted and his answer was..... He has to speak to you one on one and find what best suites my needs. Knowing that he takes the time to make sure im making the right life altering choice make me feel so much better. It sucks that I wasted 2 months waiting for the other appointment and finding a new surgeon but at the end I the day my life is going to be in someone else's hands and being comfortable should be step one to this long process.

You are absolutely correct. If my health was not a concern I don't think the surgery would be an option. I'm pre diabetic accompanied by back and knee pain. food has always Been my vice as I got older and my weight started to increase I didn't think It was that big if a deal. When I look at my family most of them look just like me. This is what I was used to. Until my 4 yeast old started to ask me if I was pregnant. That was the most hurtful thing ever. Worst than not being able to walk up the subway stairs without worrying about passing out, worst then listening to my family doctor tell me year after year you have to do something about your weight. The surgery is a tool. A tool to set us up for success for a healthy comfortable life......best wishes Jill

Mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes that you can thin out with a little milk. You can also add non flavored Protein Powder to them if you are low on Protein. You can also cook cauliflower and puree them. Put it in a small bowl or ramikin, cover with a little Pasta Sauce (if you can tolerate) and then either shredded cheese or ricotta and nuke it so the cheese melts. Of course you can make variations of this but ths was really good and it added Fiber which I was missing Refried Beans are on my list too but I have to thin them out with Water or the air gets trapped and can't get through. Weird. eggs. I recently started pureeing whatever protein and veggies my family was having and it's working out pretty good so far. It's easier than always making 2 dinners. Especially with the amount of what you eat, it takes longer to make the 2nd meal than it does to eat it LOL. Also they have been great about eating Soup and grilled cheese while I eat soup - thank goodness it's been chilly lately. I found that if I puree breast meat chicken, I have to add a little broth or water to it to help it along. Dark meat not so much. The moisture helps it go down easier without wanting to come back up or sit in my chest. Same when I puree beef. So far I've only pureed a roast I made in the slow cooker and hamburger meat. I didn't have a problem with either as long as there was moisture. If it's really dry, it hurst me. Tonight my husband is making meatloaf so we will see how that works...if it doesn't, I always have beans in the pantry
