Concern re: final nut meetin and insurance submission
I had my fourth and final NUT visit today. My packet was supposed to be submitted to insurance immediately after, but as it turns out, my packet was submitted on Halloween. The nutrition class notes will go over after as an attachment after the fact. My concern is this: my initial visit withy the surgeon and the beginning of my process was on August 5th. All of my classes and office appointments were clustered a bit closer than 30 days together, but one calendar month apart to satisfy my specific insurance requirements (so another visit early September, early October, and today -- initial surgeon meeting plus three nutrition classes). I'm concerned this early submission will equal an automatic denial since my packet came over before I had completed my minimum requirements. Any thoughts on this? I'm thankful my packet is in, but I'm feeling a bit frustrated that an early submission could lead to a denial and delay. They stressed to me that everything be done under these specific time constraints, but here at the end and on the very last thing they seemed to disregard those same constraints entirely. On a positive note, I've officially jumped through every hoop and am now waiting. Wahoo!! Even with this new little hiccup, it's awesome to be done with my requirements. Fingers crossed -- hoping for good news, and soon!

I smell funny?
Wonder if it could also be some detox going on? It's said you store toxins in your fat cells. I wonder if some stored toxins are emitting odors as your fat cells are shrinking or being utilized for energy.

I don't even understand how something like that could happen. I am so, so sorry.

4th nut appt
I'm kindof in the same boat. I have my 4th and last NUT appointment in the morning. I've already jumped through all the hoops and ha my initial meeting with the surgeon, and I know my packet is supposed to be submitted to insurance tomorrow (it's been prepared, just waiting for final NUT notes). I jut don't know what's next. From the office, I get the impression that approval + surgery is next, but no clear answers yet. On these boards, I read about all day pre-op classes and second meetings with surgeons before the actual surgery date. Seriously, though, can't we just get this show on the road?!

18 years old GETTINH SLEEVED IM.LESS THAN 2 MNTHS!
I think you have youth on your side. Lots and lots of before/after pictures here of young people with sleeves who have perfect skin and lovely tummies. It depends on the person, I'm sure, but I think you have a better chance of good skin tightness than I do as a 37-year-old mama of many. Congrats on your surgery!! Wish I could have done it at 18!

Diet Coke Withdrawal!
I was able to quit sodas by swapping my drink of choice in the same cup, so instead of a big Diet Dr. Pepper from Sonic, I started getting a big unsweet Raspberry Iced Tea from Sonic. The flavoring added sweetness to the tea (they have several sugar-free options), but the sensation of a sweet drink from the big cup was the same, and it felt very satisfying to drink. That transitioned to a Route 44 ice water with fresh lemon or lime. Same sensation, still satisfying. The straw will (or might be) a problem post-op, but maybe it will help you wean off the Cokes right now.

My Sob Story
I'm sorry you don't have more of a support system with you locally. I'm kind of in the same boat, and in the boat with you that this has to be done regardless of risk. Wishing you all the best!

DFW TX Surgeon selection? (Dallas / Ft. Worth)
- I Want To See Before & After Pics!
Wow!!- Dallas mentor and/or buddies? Surgery: Jan 2014
If you've gone to group lately, I bet we've seen one another. I'm the one in the back with the baby strapped to my chest.- People don't recognize me!
It's no wonder he didn't recognize you. You may feel the same, but you look totally different. Equally lovely, just different. Having people do the double take must be so fun. Congrats on your fantastic weight loss!- Check this out if you're new to the sleeve ans having regrets!
You look like a completely different woman! So sassy! I love it!!- Getting psych eval tomorrow
I had an appointment with one (of three) psychs recommended by my surgeon. She said the process would be 3+ hours long with the 600 question questionnaire. After reading on here about folks having much shorter appts, I called another psych on my doctor's list: 100 or so questions emailed to me in advance, then a 45 minute chat in office. Discussed childhood, my weight gain, WL efforts, at-home support, etc. A few answers rabbit-trailed off to a few other questions, but nothing intense or super deep.- 9 month surgiversary before and adter
Holy cow -- you look fantastic! A whole new man.- First small victory
- Feeling a little guilty ..would love some feedback
