What do you use to flavor/sweeten your coffee? I can have Decaf but I'm so used to having it with flavored Creamer. What are some alternatives you use?

My concern is not going back too soon when I've heard people say that they smell after surgery. I want to stay away from work until I'm extra ok in that arena. I'm a labor and delivery nurse and am in very close contact with my patients doing epidurals we basically are hugging each other. I don't want to offend anyone and would be supremely embarrassed.

Kaiser (CA) recommends that you take off of work for 4 weeks. We have short term disability here at my job that will pay me 100% for up to 6 weeks. So, I'm taking off for 4 weeks and will allow my body to heal and to get used to my new way of eating.

I have masshealth and Medicare and had the lapband back in 2007. In October of last year my band slipped and has a hole in it so it wouldn't stay filled. Now that I've decided to get a sleeve I went to a different doctor and the doctor told me that because the band slipped and has a leak, that I don't have to wait. My next nutritionist appointment is on the 30th and she and my doctor will talk( depending on how much weight I loose) and they will tell me when I can have my surgery!!! Too excited that I don't have to wait.

    Hi all,
I just had to share a funny NSV this morning.
I'm sitting in my desk chair at work and realize my feet are dangling like a little kid and I'm not siting all the way back in my chair....I had to go find the lever to change the depth of the seat since I didn't need all that extra room for my butt anymore !!!!
    That was a fun one!
    Take care,
    Kristin
(Down 92 pounds from pre lap band weight in 2006 and 69 pounds from sleeve revision. In December.)

Slimforme, Boy you have a lot going on! Just because we had surgery doesn't exempt us from the struggles in life that effect weight loss. Are you getting a good nights sleep? Was it your idea to end the relationship? Family and friends fighting addiction is very stressfull. Thank God they are getting help they need. Bottom line is refocus what are you doing differently? Are you grazing? When you stop a refocus you will be able to answer the questions I have asked and "need no response to". I posed the questions for you. When we step back and are honest with ourselves we can see what we are doing that is destructful in our lives. When we figure out what we can answer why! You know what your doing if you sit down and write it down, you'll understand why. Maybe subconsciously your sabotaging yourself. Do you believe your worthy of feeling healthy and looking healthy? If you answered yes then stop and take the time, to ask yourself why you are doing what your doing. You are the one that has to answer the questions. Hope this helps...you can also go to Pinterest and put in gastric sleeve and you will come up with 1000's of ideas for recipes and exercise and pitfalls. Praying you feel better about yourself soon!

I come here every couple of weeks to check in and now I need some support. I was sleeved 12-27-12. Before surgery I lost quite a bit of weight. Was 297 started running dropped to 258, day of surgery I was 248 now I am 197. All in all seems like a lot but only 50lbs since surgery. I need help figuring out why I keep getting stuck. I know everyone says don't look at others, were all different, but this is getting depressing. I think it might be stress and I have relocated so I don't have my doctor anymore. Maybe some ideas for menu's? 800 to 900 calories? I feel lost.

I'm down 105. Weight-loss has definitely slowed . was 3 pounds a week every week now 1 pounds a week on 800 calories a day. I have started uping my exercise and have noticed a jump in my loss. I was size 22-24 pants and am now a size 10-12 depending on the pants. Tops medium from 3x. I have about 30 pounds to go thats my personal goal, my doctor never set a goal for me. To be normal BMI I have to weight 148-168. I have chosen to make 150 my goal. Im very happy with my results. I just want to be done with the losing weight part.

I am at 175.8, and I don't really have a firm goal weight (my doctor did not specify one either), my size 14 clothes are starting to be too loose and I can feel that I am about to gear down to a size 12. I would like to hit 150 next a re-evaluate, and after a long stall, I have lost a pound and a half this week. Now I am at the beach and having cucumbers, tomatoes, grouper, and bananas for lunch YUM! I find that I am not stressed at all about numbers, just happy to be slowly heading in the right direction. I am not exercising as I should, and that is my next goal now that we are back in a routine as a family - starting back on walking and yoga this week
Everyone has had such success! So inspiring to read your stories and your challenges, too...

Hi December sleevers! Let's chime in on our progress. It's been 9 months and I'm down to some 14-16 dresses from a size 24. My weight loss has slowed, but I'm happy with my progress. Can't wait to get to onederland! I have 32 more pounds to get under 200#. Still getting a handle on Vitamins and I'm living with no regrets! Rocking my sleeve!

Happy New Year!!!! I was sleeved on Dec 3, weighting 215. As of yesterday, 197! Yeaaaaaaaa, finally after ten years I see the one's again. Thanks to the sleeve, I have no regrets. My doctor said due to my low bmi I may lose slower, but thats good still. I am happy and thankful. Good luck everyone, may the new year bring, better health and prosperity!!!

Wow, after two years you only gained eight pounds after losing 100! That's amazing! I will be 49 in a few months and yes the back pain does not goes away. I was hoping it would because the doctors said if you lose weight it may go away. However, I have degenerate disk disease so I have to tolerate it. I hate taking pain meds but sometimes it gets so bad and I can't sleep like now, and I have to. I am nine months out and had joined a gym but only went a few times. I bought some weights to tone my arms. I believe, I can exercise better at home. I am going to get a bike to ride with my foster son. He is more excited then I am. I am also going to get a stationary bike to exercise when weather is too bad. Drink plenty of Water and eat five to six small meals a day. My dr said more is less to get the metabolism moving. So good luck, and stay encouraged you can do this! You have done great!

I went thru several stalls, increasing my water intake helps. It is hard to getting in in the beginning but in time you will be able to drink more. I am nine months out and have reached my doc goal and fifteen from reaching my goal! This journey is so exciting you can do it. Sometimes, I drink high protein ensure 25 grams of protein. I like vanilla flavor better.

I was sleeved in April 8
    SW: 342lbs
    CW: 231lbs
I found an old picture from last October & what a difference. I flew to New York 2 weeks ago and it was an awesome feeling because I was always to embarrassed to fly because I was afraid they would tell me I was to fat. So when I got on the plane I almost cried when I buckled up my seat belt and had to tighten it because it was way to loose. I sat comfortably in my seat and didn't feel like I was overflowing into the sit next to me.

I do wish the best for you. Hopefully, you'll get motivated to give up those carbs again.
